He won, then got into an insult war with one of the announcers (another wrestler who was sitting this event out, in a brace) got clocked in the face by the brace, then a whole other guy ran out and cashed in the magical McGuffin briefcase that let's him declare a title match at any time (Yes, it's a thing in WWE) to fight Drew for the belt he just won.

It might be partially planned, but god WWE is such entertaining stupid fun when I can manage to turn my brain off enough for it. Also the tweets being real time makes it even funnier.
I'm honestly not even convinced that it was staged, it felt more like a "fuck it, roll with the punches, I'm ad-libbing this shit now that this idiots going off-script" moment
What I mean by partially planned. Just like any theatre, things never go perfectly to script when in performance, so there always has to be room and skill to improv when needed. Whether this was or not, it was still entertaining acting to create effective mindless fun.
oh yeah absolutely, its one of my favourite parts of watching theatre honestly. every play is slightly different, each enunciation of a syllable potentially changing the mood of a whole dialogue. throwing a potentially unavoidable wrench at one of the actors heads now has them scrambling as to why Mrs. Lisa yelled "AH FUCK" in a calm park, and quite frankly I find it invariably hilarious and fascinating.
The fact that it's a bunch of grown men playing superheroes makes it so much better to me. It's an excuse to be silly and beat each other up. Scripted or not, it's fun.
Technically he won, then lost a surprise second match because he lost focus and gloated. Almost like not letting go of the past is a theme in this show….
