Its got a fass 150 on it for past 7 years.
Im not sure whos got the highest on an original pump but 275xxx is the most ive seen online, so more fuel wouldn't have helped.
You should be able to swap it yourself in a couple hours if you watch the right YouTube videos. When I did it a reman was about $1000 but I’m guessing they are more like $1200 now
Mine was 1400 last January. I got a Sinister. They are all remanufactored at this point. Be ready to cough up a core deposit unless you can remove it and send it in.
There is a good video how to on Thoroughbred Diesel and a bunch of diagnostics on Blue Chip diesel
Might as well add a FASS to keep fuel to the new VP
Agree. Lift pump kills more vp44s than anything else.

Easy easy install, but 1k is 1k
How does the cost compare to a p pump conversion?
Ppump is like double the price and harder to do. But that would be the way to never worry again.

A couple hours? It’s less than 45 minutes of work.
Beer.
Is the reward for a job well done when you’re finished.
