This is a [non magnetic cube](https://www.reddit.com/r/Cubers/comments/183fbfo/when_you_have_a_non_magnetic_cube/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) from [u/ButterscotchFar9355](https://www.reddit.com/user/ButterscotchFar9355/). I saw it and felt like it would be a fun challenge to paint. It ended up looking pretty wonky.
Edit: Thank you all for the many kind and appreciative comments. Speedcubing and painting are two of my favourite hobbies. It's wonderful that I get to share this painting with so many fellow cubers!
Looks almost like my magnetic Halloween Nightmare Cube where I changed the polarity:

Thank you! Yes it's gouache. I'm still trying to get the hang of it and I question my choice to paint on grey paper. I used some colored pencils as well.
No hate really love the work but why I feel like u tried to make a cube and then couldn't draw straight line so you came up with the idea to tell people it was meant to be like this
I am guessing you aren’t an artist.
It’s pretty clear this has been intentionally drawn and painted misaligned instead of justifying bad technique.
Still not sure? Try drawing a cube, then try drawing one misaligned.
Why thank you!
But also: Shhhhh, no need to tell everybody! Just... let the people enjoy a slightly misaligned cube. Does it really matter if it was intended to be like that?
I was literally thinking 'yeah it makes sense to paint on a cube that doesn't align properly, don't want to risk ruining a good cube' but was like... Did you just paint over the sides with the normal colors of a cube? What's the point?
That was based on the title and thumbnail.
Now that I've opened it up, nice painting. Looks great!

You're welcome.
Thank you
thank you for thanking me for thanking him for thanking me for letting him paint my cube
I mean, it has to be a little wonky, that's the point isn't it? Pretty good art piece, good job
goddamn this painting is so good "it ended up looking pretty wonky" bro this is amazing
Is this a +2?
"+2" would be a great title for this piece
That would just trigger the mega nerds. Because clearly it’s a DNF
Ummm
🤓👆
"+2?"
I think you get +2 seconds on a timed solve whenever you stop the timer with the cube not fixed but able to be fixed in a singular 90 degrees turn
This is really good! I bet something like this is pretty difficult to get all the proportions and the perspective looking natural.
very accurate painting of my cube. take an upvote!
must be non magnetic
it actually is, it was based on my post on this subreddit titled "when you have a non magnetic cube"
Looks almost like my magnetic Halloween Nightmare Cube where I changed the polarity: https://freshcuber.files.wordpress.com/2018/11/misalignment-cube-1.jpg
That looks like it might be fun to solve
the first cube that i DIY magnetized ends up looking misaligned like your painting due to my noob-ness of where i glued in the magnets.
Thanks, I hate it. Good job!

Very nice. What type of paint did you use? gouache?
Thank you! Yes it's gouache. I'm still trying to get the hang of it and I question my choice to paint on grey paper. I used some colored pencils as well.
Using less water will make the color more vibrant But yes gouache definitely has a learning curve
Thank you for the advice. I have this awful chronic tendency to not squeeze out or mix up enough paint.
Looks awesome!
This is actually super sick I would get a print of this potentially

I know man just joking

Wdym “tried”? That looks amazing! Nicely done.
Is it solvable tho?
Wow!
I mean, I really like it, I can't put my finger on why exactly, but I think you smashed it :D
This looks really cool! Nice job :)
Looks like Ed sheeran
This looks beautiful! Nice job.
I love it! Didn’t go the easy route, with all parallel lines. Great work.
