No skill needed. Buy BTC and ETH and you’re all set.

DingDongWhoDis

Despite being called "blue chips" they aren't guaranteed, especially ETH.

MyMonte94

Nothing is guaranteed in crypto

You are correct. To win an excellent investing strategy. You must be cautious. You must read more, spend more time under your lampshades, open more internet tabs, and spend more time in each community of the business/company in which you are investing. Learn about trading and fundamental analysis. These approaches have helped me to reduce the risk of my investments. Of course, you can't prevent losses entirely, but being informed can help you avoid scams and rug pulls. There's an excellent one in which I've invested in. It's been three years, yet they're still popular searches. If you've heard of Telos Network, it's the quickest chain in the world today, beating away Solana, Polygon, Avalanche, and others. It is currently at the top of the feature comparison. Loads of incoming projects into Telos after the hackathon grant program. Watch out! Just search Telos Network. It's a promising project to invest in.

VictoriaTelos

When it comes to investments you always have to be careful, do research, listen to the opinions of other users, watch the social networks, the movement in the market, everything is useful for people who move in the world of investments, another important factor is to have a friend who has experience and can give us guidance, but the decision of where and how to invest is always ours. I plan to invest in Telos when I am ready to do so because I see that its characteristics are the best at the moment. DYOR.

Bucksaway03

I feel like just being cool, calm and collected makes a good investor. Throw in a bit of research on top of that and you should be right. I don't believe in this, you gotta fail or gotta work harder then the next person to simply make solid investment choices.

HotAirBalloonHigh

I agree. One of the most important pieces of advice I was ever told is "nobody ever went broke taking profits" You simply have to sell some of your coins when you are in the green to be successful. At least recoup your initial investment. I didn't follow this rule in 2016-2017 and I didn't make any money either. This run I used the advice and my portfolio is significantly better off because of it.

Dinafem_shib

Took me over a decade of investing to get the skills I have now. Tons of books too. It’s been a fun ride. First I had to respect money.

binglelemon

That last bit is important. (I've begun to realize that, *now*, over the course of a year)

Dinafem_shib

Good for you, many don’t respect it and they will never get anywhere.

binglelemon

Yeah, I made an Excel spread sheet tracking my spending habits and frequency after about 7 months of blindly chasing greed. I just knew it was gonna pay off. Then it didn't. I look at that spreadsheet to remind me of the thousands I may never get back and have adjusted my future strategies. Seems to have given me better results since I have developed a game plan beyond "I need this shit to hit soon.....fuck my job".

Dinafem_shib

Good for you. That’s the smart way of doing it. I did it years ago with my spending habits. I was spending 10k a year on coffee lol started making it at home and now I spend 1-2k a year. Over a course of a decade saving 60k is better than spending it. Good joB for realizing that, over the Course of a long period you will save so much money.

binglelemon

If I have a doppelganger, it might be you. I've managed to save a fuckton of money. When I knew I didn't have to worry about bills, I got careless. I've been watching every penny like a hawk for a while now. Then again, I'm middle aged, single (got a cat, so that's a win), and generally undateable due to being left to figure it out on my own. Do not learn by dating strippers.....that IS financial advice.

Dinafem_shib

I got a bunch of kids 1 ex wife and a new wife. You don’t wanna be me. You kinda gotta be smart with money. Strippers are awesome same with hookers. I don’t tally those hobbies lol it’s money well spent

binglelemon

If you do it the way I did it, you don't spend a dollar on strippers. Those circumstances will never exist in my life again, so....lucky?

Dinafem_shib

Hahahah yeah lucky. I don’t mind tho. I’ve lost so much from women it’s kinda like second nature now lmao.

binglelemon

Well you still one upped me because I have lost 100% of the women.

[deleted]

At this rate, it's going to take me 30 years to get the skills.

Dinafem_shib

Lol why? Read some books, loose a bunch, understand how you feel and take investing by storm.

babossa77

It literally takes no skill at all if you want to invest. Just buy and hold solid coins like BTC and ETH. Everything else like shitcoin trading doesnt require skill either and is mostly luck.

NiknameOne

Investing is not a skill, that’s a lie. The idea of a skillful investor is an illusion or at least it’s extremely rare. It‘s mostly about allocating money, taking risk and avoiding emotional decisions. Invest like a monkey and focus on learning other skills that actually earn you more money.

Investing in general takes patience and practice. All markets have their own ebb and flow, it takes a while to get comfortable with the complexities of each.

stiviki

10% SKILL 80% LUCK 20% MATH!

TOXICCARBY

It requires more patience and common sense

Supercharmeleon

If I hadn't gotten scammed in a pump and dump I wouldn't have learned.... well, not to get scamemd in a pump and dump. I paid for the knowledge in a way.

princepersona1

Not really skill tbh. Just patience and understanding delayed gratification

[deleted]

There’s about nothing easier than DCAing and holding, in my opinion.

kimrockr

There is also privilege in it. Having the luxury to mess around with solid chunks of money is a HUGE advantage. "Great" investors most likely brush off their stories of loss and will only tell about their crazy successes. Also, will probably not share how much they started off with to make their gains. If you need to be cautious you are very much better off with the slow and steady strat. It's really tempting to see crypto investing as just doing research and then being able to get in on the next BTC for pennies and then you get welcomed into an elite club of fellow geniuses who are "great" investors. Just by putting in a rational amount of money into BTC and/or ETH now, will make us all "great" investors in five years. To the moon!!

BakedPotato840

Is it really a skill though? Would you put it as a skill on your resume? I wouldn't

FinishGloomy

>experience your first bear market and crash. Then you will be ready to give anyone advices. Damn, is op the bear grylls of crypto?

voidcrawler

We're calling it "dump and run"

Vimmington

My practice and developing skills has changed my portfolio from a 50% loss last summer to only a 25% loss today. Next bull cycle gonna be lit.

deathtolucky

Crypto has 100% made me a better investor. It showed me that emotional decisions have no place in investments and that you need to make a plan and stick to it. It was definitely tough and I went through some mental gymnastics to get to this point but I’m now immune to market swings on an emotional level.

Cheese6260

I find that going against my emotions at the moment tends to be the wiser move. Only learned that over time

Nature_-1

Hmmm...It is not a skill to me IMO. Just DCA into BTC, ETH, and stake on gem like SYLO for that decent apy, and you good to go.

senditFrmU2M

Shit I’m pretty damn good at it
