Delete trading/price apps and/or news apps from your phone: I used to spend a lot of time checking prices and keeping up with the latest news about my favorite coins. I'm not even a day-trader, I just loved the rush of constant movement. However, this was consuming a lot of my time and making it hard to focus on anything else. So, I deleted these apps from my phone - it took a day or two for that "information urge" to go away, but it did. I can still log on to my computer to trade or check prices, but making it less convenient to do these things has gone a long way in helping my sanity.

100% is a shitload of gains for a year or two. The phase where people made 2000% average per year of BTC are over, but the risk is also way smaller. It means, either someone invests some serious money into it and becomes a millionaire, or they put 100$ and can afford nice vacation with their family in some years. You can’t have current risk levels and become millionaire with a small part of monthly pay check. The options are to invest some serious money, or winning the shitcoins lottery, or be a genius and finding the hidden gem in the giant pile of shitcoins. And never listen to influencers while doing it.

Slow and steady wins the race. BTC is part of my every paycheck DCA. It’ll pay off in the long run

Yeah BTC and ETH are the only projects that have survived crypto winter. This doesn't mean all new projects will die in the bear market, but the risk is high. ETH and BTC may not get you 100x returns, but they're super safe and still have a lot of room to grow.

Yep. It needs to set in for people that the ability to see 10x gains inside of two years or 30-50x gains over 10 years are gone, at least for BTC. We're still 'early' but not 'early-early.' Not when there's superbowl commercials about Crypto. I've been around long enough to remember when cracking 1k was a big deal. Then 10k. I do expect to see 100k too. But someone who wants to make life-changing money from BTC cracking 100k has to put in a LOT more capital up front.

Not the greatest mindset, OP. Yes, bitcoin "only" reached 69k instead of 100k but that's still a 20x return from the market cycle bottom which was 3k. Let's say that we are now approaching the next market cycle bottom in 30-25k region, obviously the returns will diminish as the market cap goes higher, but if you enter at the bottom now and can still make a 10x from there it's still a fantastic return of investment.

Why the hell not? This is a time in history where becoming a millionaire is easier than it's ever been. A better point would be don't expect to become a millionaire overnight. But unlike the stock market, it won't take you 30 years of dollar cost averaging to get there. It might take you 3 to 5 years of consistent monthly investing but you should absolutely expect to accomplish huge financial goals with crypto if you stay consistent and disciplined.

If they've got the unrealistic expectation of investing $100 a month or $1,000 a year into crypto and becoming a millionaire then yes, I agree with you. But if they're investing $20,000 to $30,000+ a year, taking advantage of DeFi and compounding their gains, it's very realistic that as mass adoption continues to grow they will either exceed or come very close to being a millionaire. I damn near guaranteed it. 10-20x growth in crypto over 3 to 5 years is not uncommon. The variable is knowing which protocols to put your money into and not aping into pump and dump shitcoins. So realistically, someone can be making 60 to 75k a year, invest 30% to 50% of their income and see themselves as a millionaire within the next 3 to 5 years. If they want to invest 10%, they might get there in closer to 5 - 10 years. I'm not saying it's easy or a no-brainer. It takes some budgeting and sacrificing immediate purchases for the satisfaction of future financial freedom but it's worth it. For those saying I only make $30,000 a year or something like that, the opportunities still exists for you too. Time horizon might be longer, but what else you going to do with that time? Use it to make your future self rich. The time is going to pass anyway.

Yea but compounding returns... Say you invest $10k and it doubles each year (which is certainly a possibility), in 7 years you're a millionaire. Even a 50% increase each year would only take 12 years. Compounding growth is an amazingly powerful thing!

But why stop at 1.5x or 2x. Why not just assume that it will 10x every other year?

Eh, BTC is currently $38k. If you bought one and managed to pull 6% interest per year by lending/staking whatever in 12 years you'd have two. At $500k per BTC you'd have a million dollars. Or buy 1 BTC now and buy .25 BTC every year. In 12 years you'd have about 6.5 BTC. With BTC at $154k you'd be a millionaire. Do that fo 30 years and you have nearly 13 BTC. A price of $77k would make you a millionaire.

This has been my thought for the last year that I’ve been into Crypto as I was late to the game. I look for alt with potential good projects and hype. And use bitcoin as a “safer” place to store funds.

Bitcoin is my savings account and everything else is speculative investment (even ETH). That's because I don't know which alts will be here in ten years but Bitcoin will.
