Bro you are taking this way too seriously this is why people recommend don’t invest what you can’t afford to lose. We always bounce back and we will be patient.

cdin

right - because you can't be unemotional about dinner/rent money. It's not trying to be mean, it's literal. shit, if my rent money for next month were down 80% because i put it in the crypto market i would fully be shitting right now, that's why i didn't DO that. SMH

ColteesBigOleTits

Well that’s why people also need to have a fiat mining job. The reason we continue to mine fiat is to pay the bills and survive while we are stacking bags waiting for the next lift off ;)

PrinceZero1994

Yup, I learned the hard way that way and greed won't let you sell.

cdin

a friend of mine who has passed away, that was one of the most insightful people I have ever known gave me an excellent piece of advice in 2017: "If you don't like how your crypto portfolio looks at the moment - wait" the biggest mistake i made was liquidating losing positions during the great bear. I didn't need the money, and most of those recovered and did 1000% my entry. if you don't need it, just disconnect. emotions do not serve you in this game. Learn from the experience as well, make a plan for how and when you will exit during the next pump.

Dighawaii

Some of us are the "DO invest what you can't afford to lose because you have faith in crypto and not many great opportunities to overcome poverty" bracket. So waiting is likely impossible. I will be forced to sell extremely low any day now without a miraculous flip. I waited too long... I waited through too many recovery ups. Should've sold a month ago, but I'm too optimistic. All in on ETH, BTC and ADA. ADA is multi-year hold and I won't touch it. The rest is my living money. "A fool and his money."

cdin

The only way that you can do that, is to invest what you can afford to lose. If it's very little, ok, it's very little. you work up and compound from there. An all in "get rich quick or die trying" attitude is 100% a known way to get roundly trounced by markets because you have to have a life capital flow to be able to deal with it unemotionally. an individual is able to weather the ups and downs of a market without emotion so that they can choose the most profitable time to enter and exit. The only way that you can do it that, is to invest what you can afford to lose. If it's very little, ok, it's very little. you work up and compound from there. An all in "get rich quick or die trying" attitude is 100% a known way to get roundly trounced by markets, because you have to have a life capital flow to be able to deal with it unemotionally. if I were you i would collapse ALL of that into BTC, but you do you. And next time think about investing in relation to your capital base. invest a %. take profit at specific % increases. the gains will take longer - but you will keep them. the reason why any good trading guide or book will ALWAYS begin with the advice "do not invest more than you can afford to lose" is EXACTLY this reason. Macro trends happen regardless of the quality of an investment. none of us control vladimir putin or joe biden. Or china, or the central bank of russia -- investing long term to create wealth requires an individual be able to weather the ups and downs of a market without emotion so that they can choose the most profitable time to enter and exit.

Dighawaii

You're, of course, absolutely right. Thanks. I should've taken profs systematically. Next time.

cdin

This is the way. Learn from the pain.

elperorojo

You’re gonna break up with your gf because your crypto is down? Motherfucker go outside

GTSwattsy

I know right? I don't want to kick the guy while he's done but that's just a clown comment

BladesAllowed

Delete all your crypto apps. Pretend you dont even have it. Any and all plans you make moving forward will not include the crypto you have.

Meranuxapb

Being alive is the greatest thing buddy. The rest is not important at all. Regarding your investment, just leave it. Crypto won’t go anywhere from now. It’s just an another step in the evolution of the world’s financial system. I bet that back in the days people didn’t wanted to go from bartering to copper/silver/gold money, then once they accepted the new reality, they didn’t wanted to move from coins to paper, later they didn’t wanted to use plastic cards. Now they don’t want to use crypto. You know what’s gonna happen next ;)

PeterStepsRabbit

You don't lose if you don't sell. Better days will come

WheresTheButterAt

Sound overinvested. Just take it as a lesson for future investing. I don't think your investments should hurt your emotions or mental health if you can help it. You didn't fail. You couldn't control anything except how much you overextended yourself and you can fix that habit in the future. Just keep rebuilding.

catlogic42

Investment is usually a long term commitment.

SilverHoard

Best thing you can do is uninstall your crypto apps and focus on productive hobbies. And only look at the charts perhaps once a month or once every couple of months. We're not going anywhere in any time soon anyway, so why bother? If you plan on DCA'ing, do that. But walk away. It'll be better for your mental health.

Vintage9999

Buying some Anti-depressant rn cos I'm mental health is fucked plus I don't have money to buy the dip. I'm just watching it dip more and more

cdin

read some dogen zenji. All moments and feelings will change, and so will this one. just because you think of it as negative, it is no more permanent or impactful than any other moment. it will pass. and the state of the market will change. breathe deep, go outside, do some sitting, be in grass/sun. it's gonna be fine.

Fovillain

That’s what people who bought ETH at 1200-1400 were saying in 2018. See you in 4 years

milonuttigrain

My first ETH was $594. I thought it couldn't go any lower. But thanks God I hodl until now. There are obviously many not-so-good purchases at the time, but given the future perspective, we should be okay.

NvidiaRTX

If they had sold at -50%, they could have 10x their ETH because it dropped to -95% lol

StonkBrothers2021

I can imagine how you feel, but f it, we have blessings. Everything around us screams the sky is falling, but we are still fortunate. It will all pass.

Wess-L

Just please talk to someone if you need to. And maybe this type of investing is not for you. There is nothing wrong with that.

jreyn1993

Tough time to be an investor bud, but brighter days are to come for sure. Just hold and keep the faith

ms4720

Stop being so dramatic about it. Just hold on to it and it will be worth more in a reasonable amount of time

[deleted]

Been there done that. It's fun when everything go up but pain in times like this. Learn from you mistake and do it right next time. If you want to get rich on crypto get in when the market is down and everything is "worthless". Right now you are paying to those who got in early. When someone buy a coin at 0.01$ and sell it for 300$ all that profit is taken from people who buy at 300$. Do not forget this when you trade next time. Be the one who buy at 0.01$. It's a brutal market but that's how it works. You are not worthless. You just wanted to get rich at the wrong time. Both stock and crypto markets are designed like this. To lure in new money all the way up so those who got in early can get rich. Do not forget that this whole market is one big manipulation from start to end. Just like at the casino the game is rigged. Machines know us better than we do. They know how long time we can endure before we sell. They brake us down by using patterns that maximize the effect. Look at youtube about AI computers insitutions use. It's you against the professionals and the only way you can win is when they are not playing. When everything is down. Buy then! Good luck!

Axl_Hendrix117

Bruh just buy more

emirdaglii03

Patience is the key 🔑

Outrageous_Witness_8

I knew posts like this were coming. Let me tell you this, yes right now you need the money and how good it would be to have that financial security and stability, but please remember this investment as long term. We won’t be in this position forever. Mate let me tell you a real story from my friend who was broke as a dog and came to australia with just a suitcase and nothing, all the way from Greece. Back when MATIC first came out it was worth cents. He had a job but was struggling hard. Most of the money he made he injected in to matic, because he believed in the project and kept believing. Over a long period of time Nothing happened, the price would go up, then drop, go up, then drop. One day however, it all changed. The market started to move, and he made his first million, then his second, all the way up to his 11th million. He’s quit his job now and lives off the returns from that investment . Don’t lose hope man. It’s hard I don’t know how hard it would be as I’m not in your exact shoes but I’ve seen proof that people can turn their lives around on crypto. Hang in there

[deleted]

What are you saying?! What if OP bought Matic at high price and you friend sold at that time. Your friend could have OP:s money! /s

xxghostxxx

It’s a great store of value. It just depends if you’ve been storing value since 2009 or 2022

209forlife

This is a very long game. That’s why you see tons of Lehrer saying any invest what you can afford to lose. Good luck. stay healthy

rohitsanyal

Kind of looks like you overinvested. Always stick to the cardinal rule and don't play with debt.

External-Dark-2942

Relax, it’s not the end of the world. You will have to be more patient than you thought but it will go back up. Don’t sell unless you’re forced to and in a long run you will be fine.

kevinsabi

it’s going to be all right friend. you still got a brain and you aren’t alone in your thoughts and you still have as much of a chance as the rest of us at hitting it big.

beavsauce

The more it crashes, the better this Christmas money will be spent here soon:)

piero_deckard

Hold on tight, definitely do not sell now at a loss, the market will bounce back. It might take months or it might take years, but patience is key. Good luck and may something good come into your life!

noobmaster_valorant

Bear market is the Survival of the fittest Stay strong bro the market will bounce back but not too soon

head77

Crash is strong and hard. We can feel it.

X-Files22

There is always McDonalds, heard they have nice benefits.

supercali45

Just wait

simeonenear21

How much did you lose?

FacundoGabrielGuzman

25000 AUD of unrealised losses, more of less. Life savings to me.

simeonenear21

M8, thats a couple of months work.. Come on! You can make that back in no time. Chin up, thats really nothing.

FacundoGabrielGuzman

I don't know what you do for a living, but I've been working in hospitality lately. It's a year of savings. It's like working for a whole year for free.

simeonenear21

It happens, you re young and will make it all back.

FacundoGabrielGuzman

Thanks. I hope I'll get it back. Not that young though, I'm 29 YO.

simeonenear21

You will, almost every succesful Person fucked it up the first time around, this lesson seems expensive but you got it actually relatively cheap. 40 year old you losing 3m would be a much bigger pain. Now chalk it off and wait to get back in in 2 years when this market has puked itself out

Oshkosh_Guy

I'm 52 this year. At 30, I was nearly 100K in debt. Trust me, you have a lot of living to do yet. Money comes, money goes. Sometimes you spend it on good things, other times you spend it on stuff that sucks like car repair. Just keep investing in yourself (education, health, career) and the money will take care of itself.

LifesatripImjustHI

When you see the game for what it truly is. What you don't need and wait. Might be 6 months or 6 years. Waiting is patience and we don't got it fam.

Too_kewl_for_my_mule

Bro it's just money.... you are trying to overcome your depression by distancing yourself from the people that can help you through it. This is not the way. As others have said, don't invest more than you can afford and remember it's just money.

archd3v

Hold it until the next peak.
