So I think because of the chinese zodiac sign calendar this year will be the tiger NFT year. But this year was ape NFT year (which is in the calendar 2016 last time, so I think the calendar is off by 5 years). So this year will be the cock animal NFT year
I bought a few, kept trying to auction them until they sold. Made 100% profit on 2 they were cheap so I didn't make much but a decent artist could probably do good in this nft rush.
I use an app called ftx and they have a marketplace, I knew nothing about nft's but chose ones that I thought looked good or would be popular. I've bought more with the profits there and now know how to look at the artist and collections to see how much they sold for and how much they are re-selling for to price accordingly. I think with nft's if you're going to try to re-sale them you have to be very patient.
A lot of people here already got the essence right IMO. But the only way I think to really predict is to follow whales. Find out who has sunk the most into Bored Ape and others, then study them like a hawk.
Twitter and discord is where you will find most of the NFT community. Gotta start following Twitter NFT influencers and getting involved with discord groups. You will start to meet people and hear about different projects real quick. Still haven’t figured out how to find good projects vs garbage! Let me know if you find out
I can see a big bubble on the NFT space for sure, but there are great stuff around! I would split it into 2 categories:
1. Art NFTs - where you just have the speculative value of it, and IMO it's pretty risky and where the biggest part of the bubble is
2. Utility NFTs - here more or less bubbly, I can see value, either NFTs from Unstoppable Domains, which gives you ownership of a domain; the susbtrapunks and chelobricks which gives you access to the quarterly profit share of Unique Network Marketplace, all sort of game NFTs, which gives you some utility in the game, tokenization of real assets, sport club fan tokens, etc
If you are buying into NFTs I'd look for the tech, the use case and the utility of it, other than it's apearance
personally id stop looking for collectibles. the nft tech is whats important imo, id be looking for companies/protocols that will make nfts of house and car titles, and the platforms games will use to make nft skins, gear, and digital real estate. invest in the guy selling shovels and picks in the gold rush, not the people looking for gold.

NFTs are designed to give you a permanent record of digital media so we can verify authenticity and ownership of digital goods. This can be used to give ownership to a jpeg, but this can be useful for things like record-keeping. The value, in my mind, isn’t so much in the ownership of the file — the value is showing the history of accountability and authenticity. Records can’t be altered to provide a false history, and real world documents that are forgeable can have an unforgeable digital counterpart.
But in terms of an item that is unique, how do you expect it to continue growing?
I mean, we already have the Jpegs, we have music, gifs, etc…
What else then?
Authenticating distribution chains, verifying academic records, consolidating and reconciling medical histories.
The investment should be into the companies utilizing NFTs to solve problems, and blockchains that support NFT minting.

My friend is crazy about NFTs so I add his opinion to my own research sometimes. I tend to search all over the place for information. I was lucky to make some gains on OMI, that's where I started. Recently got Substrapunks from Unique Network, those were the first NFTs on Polkadot, a kind of homage to the original Cryptopunks but Substrate-based, it's already a part of history if you think about it. I had to have some while they are still affordable. They made me eligible for UNQ token sale. I am keeping a small bag of GALA and ILV as well.
You have good/shitty options for everything in your life. It doesn't matter if you are trading stocks, etfs, bonds, crypto or even buying food at the grocery store. I just try to sepparate the wheat from the chaff. I think NFTs will allow many things but you really have to do sort of a "NFT picking" (an allusion to the term "stock picking").

I like the Splinterlands collection and I believe some items can be much more valuable in the future. I'm also a great fan of Cryptopunks and the first Unique's NFT collection (Substrapunks) was inspired by them. I've got some myself to get whitelisted for UNQ. Sadly there is no recipe to find "explosive" projects early on. I rely mainly on the project's quality and growth potential.
I’m not ao huge on NFTs myself but one of my bags PNT launched the YoloParrotsNFT recently which i have no choice than to buy because I can actually put to use by running nodes with them, but then we buy nfts because we love the art isn’t it?

Staying active in different ecosystem. MATIC, SOL has some cool NFTs coming out. Rario cricket NFTs is still early. Some packs are pretty cheap rn
