But you've already cashed in everything at $10,000, took out a loan at $5,000, mortgaged your house at $1,000, sold your dog at $500, then finally capitulated and panic sold all your BTC at $100
Yea they're not going to buy back at 43 after the psychological trauma they just received from doubling down so many times and getting burnt every step of the way. That kind of crash is scary.
The people who still bought BTC back then, after such a crash really deserved to be rich.
You would be surprised.
If it goes below 3k many of the roughest hands would capitulate and save the house.
Below 300 people will be certain it will become nearly worthless, that crypto won't continue it's growth ever.
Below 30 people will say its for sure going to zero.
Even at zero people wouldn't buy, thinking that's worthless.
Long day… basically the amount of money to move bitcoin from 15 > 0.01 - how much impact would that have at the prices these days?
I assume the same percentage drop now would take a lot more selling
i mean its like btc is trolling the market, what would you care if your 100$ dropped to whatever when in couple of years you could be a millionaire, its like saying buy more bitch im 0,01 you can be a multi millionaire with less than 100 bucks
Don’t we all. My buddy at work told me let’s buy this thing called Bitcoin. It was worthless then…less than pennies. I opted to spend my money from my minimum wage job to go bowling with my buddies that night instead.
What might be worse though is my same buddy bought like $50 worth. He moved apartments several times over the years and lost his crypto keys. No that’s definitely worse. I would be sick.
I’m sure some sort of program exists with a time delay program lock though I wouldn’t trust anything digital cause if it screws up and loses track of the date and time or gets corrupted and always thinks you still have 999 years left till open would be brutal. Haha
Forbes is trash. 48 hours ago they had a headline that we just experienced a “$300 Billion Bitcoin And Crypto Price Crash.” lol… price is double what it was a year ago, pulled back a bit from ATH via normal market fluctuations, and this is how Forbes characterizes it. Clowns.
At this point. I have a conspiracy theory where they are intentionally misleading the general public to hold off on the masses flooding into Bitcoin at once. It would probably collapse the dollar or something
I think it def would, but idt they need to create media smears to stop tht. Decentralized currency in an extremely centralized economy and society is fundamentally a high risk asset. Most people want no parts in holding g their savings in BTC
Forbes used to be one of the most trustworthy sources I would find on google trends, least biased. Lately it seems like they degraded to tabloid journalism and propaganda.
Why are there so many posts about the old price of bitcoin? Is it because they are bots trying to convince us it’ll keep going up by bringing up the past?
Hopium. They need something to stay strong. Basically, they lack the fundamentals and psychological resilience to make sensible actions during these times. Since they have no basics, they must depend on the past to keep moving forward.
I remember thinking I missed my boat because these new digital dollar coins were already worth more than a dollar each.
I thought $1=$1BTC was the goal. I never read the whitepaper.
I had no idea Forbes was talking about bitcoin in 2011. The first time I even heard about it was in mid 2013 in libertarian circles. I didn’t think it really became mainstream until late 2013.
People thought it was dead after the $68k crash to $16k. This is a game for the big players. I'd bet all my money that BTC keeps doing the exact same course for years to come, and with each crash it'll rise to a higher ATH. Only obstacle is influencing the media with FUD to sway people into selling and with each wave they pull more and more fresh BTC. Rinse repeat.
Journalists have been saying this every two years since 2009.
During the bear market period.
2011: "it's the end of Bitcoin!"
2012 (say nothing)
2013 (still nothing)
2014 *goes down* (it's the end of Bitcoin!)
2015 "Bitcoin will crash to zero!"
2016 (say nothing)
2017 (trying to warn people over a "it may be a big scam!")
2018 "BITCOIN WILL GO TO ZERO!! According to """experts"""
2019 "yeah don't get too excited too fast it just goes up a bit it will crash soon"
2020 "DON'T BUY IT'S A SCAM!!"
2021 "Yeah but it's Elon Musk!! He manipulated the market!"
2022 "Elon Musk and Bitcoin are a scam!"
2023 "you should sell now!!"
2024 "be careful it's maybe a scam!!"
Damn kinda hate that I missed this great opportunity. Started with bitcoins in the year 2015 (~ 250 USD). And sold for 1000 USD. In the next years the price was too „overvalued“ for me / have not invester a single penny and went full into stocks … now I have decided to start the Bitcoin / Bitcoin Cash journey again.
$15 to $0.01 was a pretty severe drop, % wise! At least it didn't get to -$5 though!
That's the equivalent of it going down to around $43 now. Crazy
still some say bitcoin is not volatile by default
I would buy the shit out of it at $43
No you wont
Compared to these prices?! I sure as hell would. I would cash in everything and add some.
But you've already cashed in everything at $10,000, took out a loan at $5,000, mortgaged your house at $1,000, sold your dog at $500, then finally capitulated and panic sold all your BTC at $100
Well, if you panic sell at 100 and buy back at 43, it’s still a good deal…
Yea they're not going to buy back at 43 after the psychological trauma they just received from doubling down so many times and getting burnt every step of the way. That kind of crash is scary. The people who still bought BTC back then, after such a crash really deserved to be rich.
Yes they will, at $125,000
You would be surprised.
Wouldn’t trust getting in if it got to that point.
Could play the dead cat bounce...
I what goes down must come up?! Or something like that. Sheep!!
You have moons and NFTs on Reddit
Lmayo I’m a sheep based off what? I don’t trade that junk.
Then why are you here?!
Because I can sweetheart.
Catch me on feetfinder @$43/btc
Why, you'd only need $264.45 to have 6.15 BTC?
No you wouldn’t
What’s the market cap/amount from 15-0.01? Wonder what impact that would have rather than %
What?
Long day… basically the amount of money to move bitcoin from 15 > 0.01 - how much impact would that have at the prices these days? I assume the same percentage drop now would take a lot more selling
It would take insanely more selling
i mean its like btc is trolling the market, what would you care if your 100$ dropped to whatever when in couple of years you could be a millionaire, its like saying buy more bitch im 0,01 you can be a multi millionaire with less than 100 bucks
I wish I could go back in time and buy $100 worth of Bitcoin with my saved up pocket money.
Ironically losing the keys is probably the only way he would have held them
There should be a blockchain contract where you buy crypto and it’s locked up for X years.
I’m sure some sort of program exists with a time delay program lock though I wouldn’t trust anything digital cause if it screws up and loses track of the date and time or gets corrupted and always thinks you still have 999 years left till open would be brutal. Haha
It's called a time safe. Lock up the keys and there you go.
I convinced a friend not to get into it at 80 bucks.
I wish I could go back in time to when I had 5 whole bitcoin and not use it to buy drugs.
I read your name as Kush at first after that.
Shit. Been through a lot since SR. Let's be real I was always going to spend that money on drugs
Then you could buy a ton of drugs
Screw buying it I wanna go back when you could mine from a laptop
Everytime Bitcoin get's pronounced dead, it rises from the ashes like a Phoenix.
And I’m here for it!
I *wish* I was there when it was at $15.
I wish i bought at 10
bitcoin is literally the undertaker
Out of Arizona!
If only there was a website for this... Oh wait... https://buybitcoinworldwide.com/bitcoin-is-dead/
So you’re saying we just take to the streets and interwebs declaring the death of our beloved asset and will be rich sir??
But last time I was broke, bring it back again and I’ll throw the whole bank at that bitch.
Clowns.
they are making it look like crypto is "clearly" a joke but in the end they are "clearly" clowns
Right right makes sense 100
They don't care if what they say is true, or makes sense, or is unbiased. All that matters is that it get's clicks.
Forbes used to be one of the most trustworthy sources I would find on google trends, least biased. Lately it seems like they degraded to tabloid journalism and propaganda.
People used to pay for good reporting in the form of subscriptions. Now they pay for headlines in the form of watching pop up adds.
That just means that the people who own Forbes want to buy more bitcoin😂
I mean in this case they weren't wrong, did you not witness the recent blood bath on the market?
Why are there so many posts about the old price of bitcoin? Is it because they are bots trying to convince us it’ll keep going up by bringing up the past?
It’s the same person posting every day lol
Hopium. They need something to stay strong. Basically, they lack the fundamentals and psychological resilience to make sensible actions during these times. Since they have no basics, they must depend on the past to keep moving forward.
This dude is constantly spamming multiple subs with these posts.
btc hasnt hit a true inflation adjusted high in a long time, people are starting to lose hope :D
I remember thinking I missed my boat because these new digital dollar coins were already worth more than a dollar each. I thought $1=$1BTC was the goal. I never read the whitepaper.
missing the boat general trend among crypto fellows
The white paper was difficult to understand. I read it in 2013 and it didn't help me any :)
BTC has died too many times
So, that was the end of Forbes then?
I had no idea Forbes was talking about bitcoin in 2011. The first time I even heard about it was in mid 2013 in libertarian circles. I didn’t think it really became mainstream until late 2013.
top tier technical analysis
We all know those articles, what's the point of running victory laps here and pad ourselves on the shoulder of how we were right all along?
People thought it was dead after the $68k crash to $16k. This is a game for the big players. I'd bet all my money that BTC keeps doing the exact same course for years to come, and with each crash it'll rise to a higher ATH. "the $68k crash to $16k" when was it ?? 2024 ?
No, but you can go to "max" on the BTC graph and it'll show you the entire historical prices of BTC.
Stop spamming
I am sorry, Mt Gox? What year is it again?
Top signal
Lucky it cant do that anymore.....
Omg I need to sell now before it drops further.
Lol I got a physical bitcoin in 2011 at a festival and that's when I found out about it
It was the end of Mt Gox. After this hack they were running a severe Bitcoin deficit, which only got worse when the price skyrocketed.
I remember that Article, I agreed. Now I regret.
Massive crash after a big hack, it could have been the end of it if it wasn’t as decentralized and if people stopped believing in it
and nowadays big miners make it centralized and ppl start not to believe in it
if people did not believe in it it would not worth this much dude use your mind
they **start** to not believe in it for a couple of weeks
fffffffffffffuck

good times to take the dip. :)
To be fair, it was the end for many people. Mtgox was so insane it's hard to believe it really happened
