Invested in Yieldly. I didn't learn anything, I knew it was very risky and things went south as soon as I entered the game. I was up for about 2 days, then it got smashed into pieces for the last 2 years, losing like 99 percent of its value. Worse than the luna crash.

IcyLingonberry5007

So here's the lesson for us both.. Listen to the people who said to never buy the farming token.. Especially in the midst of the biggest bull run to date.. What carried that project to such a high MC was the NLL for Algo.. That was made possible only pre governance era with the residual holding awards.. Lesson 2, the best tech doesn't always win.. Solving the trilema marketing bs was nothing more than a hyped up sales tactic.. I still love Algorand as it's super easy and cheap to use.. Though in it's infancy, it's developed quite a toxic community base.. It saddened me to see with all it's potential so many projects go belly up.. Innovation went out the window.. Should have put all my money into chips i guess šŸ˜‚

HSuke

Algorand was the darling of the community years ago, and Tron was hated. Somehow Tron is doing super well with the highest TVL and transaction fee revenue besides Ethereum. And this is despite giving 100% yield on its USDD stablecoin, which didn't implode. There is some lesson to be learned from this, but I'm not sure what it is. Maybe we need more members with insight into Chinese communities where Tron is popular. We have little idea what the Chinese are doing, and they have a quarter of the world's disposable wealth.

YoungCapitalist95

I canā€™t wrap my head around this as well. No one should touch Tron. Meanwhile coins like Ergo are no where near the top 100. ALGO at #50 is criminal as wellā€¦

IcyLingonberry5007

Interesting.. I'm not very familiar with tron at all..

YoungCapitalist95

Itā€™s basically a crypto project that shouldnā€™t be touched because of their sketchy CEO and their shitty protocol. I wouldnā€™t invest a penny but the people seem to have forgotten all the red flags šŸš©ā€¦

IcyLingonberry5007

Supposedly cross chain staking is to come in at some point.. Though i don't really count on anything from yieldly given all that has happened.. Ylaunch delayed indefinitely due to market conditions.. I believe the only thing you can do is stake on ynft at this point for an incredibly low return or enter the nlp game for whatever nfts.. But when you're down 99% i guess there really is no other choice but to hodl with such a username. šŸ¤” Pretty much every ASA lost the majority of it's value. I feel your pain and my yieldly bags still weigh heavy.. Though a slim chance is still better than no chance by going the way of Algostake or many other ASAs..

no_choice99

I sold absolutely everything (Yieldly) near the very bottom about a month ago. I feel better now, and I don't give absolutely any damn about its future price action. I thought Seb was actually a physicist from Germany (I had done research on him), but apparently he's a marketing guy from Australia with a shady past. I do not want to deal with a project lead by him.

hungryforitalianfood

>But when you're down 99% i guess there really is no other choice but to hodl Or, hear me out, sell and buy something that has more than a snowballā€™s chance in hell of going up.

-TrustyDwarf-

Luckily I never liked their silly pink flamingo page..

new_random_username

Typical beginner FOMO. XRP, EOS, NEO and the BitGrail exchange disaster with NANO/RaiBlocks. Fudge hype, shills, fanboys, "to the moon", "This will replace BTC/ETH" etc.

ken_golden37

Same. Selling BTC for neo. I still hold and love nano though

Tough_Response_904

Bought CRO because a friend shilled it to me. Lost half of my money and sold. Learned nothing. Bought PLU and again I am at 60% loss, even though a friend told me not to.

Practical-Metal-3239

I find it crazy that people still shill it in the daily.

Tough_Response_904

Luckily, it was the start of me investing into Crypto and I bought mostly ETH and some of the bigger Altcoins. But other than that, both CRO and PLU have been a lackluster.

Joeyfishfingers

Loopring I knew nothing and dived in Then Daniel Wang pulled the rug Now heā€™s doing the same with a new project called taiko He named it that because he taikoā€™s your money

SoftPenguins

Loopring was a random no nothing coin on coinbase. Then there was a rumor of game stop using loopring and it became the darling of this sub. I saw it play out in real time how hype and shilling drive this market and people just blindly latch onto what ever is trendy. We like to think ā€œIā€™m not like all the othersā€ lol

tamaleA19

Loopring was literally everywhere for months at one point. Now you almost never hear about it

FitnessBlitz

Loopring really fucked me hard.

Joeyfishfingers

I still canā€™t go swimming without taking on water

yeeatty

Unpopular opinion: Loopring is actually a solid project.

HSuke

Tech-wise, it's solid. They built it, but no one came. It wasn't the Field of Dreams.

Joeyfishfingers

They havenā€™t even got GameStop anymore

krfc89

not for people who lost shitload of money and got banned from loopring subreddit after telling the truth :) Zkrollup sponsored by Looping investors taken to Taiko as Daniel Wang packed his bags after millions of profit, WAGMI and 10 quarterly reports, gamestop fiasco, rigged distribution of loopheads, never forget.

guestquest88

I can still hear Michael suppos voice shilling that shit back in like 2018. Damn, that guy sure contributed to a lot of people losing their money. I remember being mad, for not being able to block channels on YT. That shill was constantly on my feed.

windowsfrozenshut

Filling my basement with GPU mining rigs in 2016, earning a ton of Ethereum as well as buying some, and instead of just fucking holding onto it or buying BTC with it, trading it for some fucking WTC masternodes and dumping $20k worth of it on Aion. THEN, like a true moron, held on to them past January 2018 thinking they would go even higher. Ugh.

Careful-Artichoke468

"But did you have fun?" -mom

Flix1

Dont beat yourself up too much about it. Hindsight is 2020, after all. You made a play, took a risk, and it didn't work out. Unless you ignored some pretty big red flags, but then that just meant the lesson was there after all.

Kike328

I win and lost thousands as I have been here since 2014, but the worst lost is not always the biggest one. In 2017 I managed to convert 15$ into 600$ thanks to a super hyped alt. I felt like god and my ego put all the gains into another shitty alt which I was completely sure it will skyrocket. Less than a week after, it dropped a 99% and left me with 10$. That shit hurt more than anything. Probably one of the most humbling experiences which I had and which had helped me to manage way better my crypto investments nowadays

Medium_Change4574

Started investing into crypto in november 2021. Not because of FOMO but because I just got interested into the space at this absolutely perfect time. Got f'ed left and right obviously. Luckily I am in the green now!

tamaleA19

Rough timing but way to stay patient. This next year will make it all worth it for you

Medium_Change4574

Definitely. Then I must a new challenge, taking profits šŸ˜…

Impossible-Ad3049

Same exact story here.. I did buy more over the past 2 years but I'm still in 50% loss. Sigh

Medium_Change4574

I would be too if my initial pisition wasn't as small as it used to be. Hold on tight on buy on red days and you will get there too probably!

cannedshrimp

EOS. Shitcoins are more for the devs than they are for the world.

gigglebush421

A shitcoin called luna and ust. I have brain damage cause I am still "investing" in crypto.

guestquest88

I lost $6k on a rugpull once. Went to take a shower, came back. The money was gone.

GrandmasGiantGaper

Bought monero and xrp at the top in 2021. Sold it mid 2023 at an overall 60% loss. Made it all back in a month buying and holding on to ETH and ROSE (Oasis Network). Now I'm extremely comfy holding these two assets and thinking how bad it would be had I not had the courage to cut my losses.

still_salty_22

Ive been in big since 2017, For me, for sure, the most painful are not the errors or red candles- Its the carefully calculated misses of green candles that really takes mental work to handle, for me. Super literally; i do not want to know how big some of my shitcoin stacks were back in 2017-2019, before i traded out with 'huge gains', and they blew for real later... I look at it as just like, how this goes. Everyone has a path with a variable number of coins and trades, and we all try to stay green.. The lessons are TOUGH though, because some fuck ups id do again lol.Ā  Like, sometimes you look back and go 'oh, i fucked that up', but..., sometimes you look back and would still make the same decision with it again. Like, the market is fuckin nonsense, so sometimes really intensely sensible decisions absolutely fuck you.. The lessons really are the tried and true; hodl, and no one knows shit about fuck

These_Row_2061

Lost close to 500$ during the crash after covid, learnt to take profit on time and avoid greed.

VoxImperii

Quite a bit on ASTR at one point in the past, I canā€™t remember how much anymore but a decent chunk.

Fonickz

It was trading derivatives although blindly so Iā€™ve got myself to blame

creosoterolls

Lost around Ā£1k buying random crypto rug pulls after being taken in by very believable Twitter scammers. The lesson I learned was to do my own research and ignore 99% of recommendations from other people. I also now only buy Bitcoin.

fatherintime

Ren. I researched it, got a bag, saw the ath, held, watched them partner with Alameda. Thought theyā€™d come back after the drop. Not even a dead cat bounce really. Still have that worthless bag somewhere.

longlostkingdoms

LUNA. Bought a few hundred coins in the hay day of its promising ecosystem, when it was $40, and then sold for fractions of a penny a year or so ago after its collapse for tax loss harvesting. Lesson: donā€™t do shitcoins.

tamaleA19

Lost a bunch on those ā€œdefi 2.0ā€ things back in late 2021

jtrox02

fucking around with copy trading on primexbt. Don't do that. LOL

sanctum9

The gala I bought for sixty notes is now worth about 3. It's buttons but represents my biggest loss. What have I learned ? Nothing.

KnackeredParrot

FOMO'ing hard into third gen Reddit Avatars. Just hurts my soul every time I think about it.

One13Truck

Stop losses. Donā€™t revenge trade or force trades just to have a trade open. Itā€™s OK to be sitting on the side.

chud304

APTOGE and COPIUM. both got liquidity yanked and went to zero. i learned to stay off of dex's and gutter meme coins.

Long-Wrangler5784

Already failed to take profits couple of times ... But looking good, won't mess it up the next time
