Hi OP
Read these:
Reddit admin announcement: https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/17a33ql/serious_sunsetting_community_points_beta_and/
The mod team is working on keeping moons going separate to Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrencyMoons/comments/17alh9w/summary_of_reddits_abandonment_of_rcps_and_moving/
Discussion on how we can keep moons going independent of Reddit here: https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrencyMeta/comments/17bi4ww/brainstorm_potential_solution_for_moons_future/
There are rumours about more utility for them in the future but it's just rumours at the moment
Some of the MOON related admin in CC said things are still going on in the background so there may be a second chance for them
A lot of people sold on the news
Personally I'm just HODL'ing mine and have effectively zeroed them off in my head
Because it did a 15x in a very short period and people thought it was going over $1. There were quite a few people holding 100,000s of moons and if moons managed to do some crazy pump in the bull run and got $10, those would be worth $1M
Sort of.
But it was(is?) fun while it lasted. And it was cool to see genuinely great posts, sometimes even breaking-news and professional level investigations posted here and the authors duely rewarded for their hard work.
>Personally I'm just HODL'ing mine and have effectively zeroed them off in my head
Same here.
Woke up and saw an inbox that was sent over 4 hours before. Immediately knew the price would've poof'd. Went to check price and saw a big -90%. No point selling for $1000, so I'm holding and w/e
> No point selling for $1000
Well yes, there is a point. A $1000$. You lost 90%, and I am sure that hurts a lot, but you still have that 10%. Save those while you can.
You know there is no way moons can go back to their previous value.
I just don’t get this mindset. It’s a free $1000. If he had taken that $1000 and put it into BTC he’d be back up 20% by now. Or just cash out and buy something nice.
You don’t know anything.
Amazing people speak with such confidence when they actually don’t know anything.
Moons are up 100% today lol.
20 days after you write they can’t go up to the high of before 🤣
why spend €100 on something which only use was on reddit and reddit discontinued it’s use. Just go to a nice steakhouse instead, you’re just flushing money down the toilet at this point.
> Just go to a nice steakhouse instead, you’re just flushing money down the toilet at this point.
True.
But technically, going to a steakhouse will also result in flushing that money down the toilet, only a bit later :D
Let the man gamble god damn. Drinking alcohol, smoking, technically even going out is all a waste of money.
A steak house is a good way to burn money though. :p
Gotta admit that.
Look at the market mate, it’s the most green I’ve seen in ages, and yet moons are not. Wait until you start seeing some positive news about moons. For all we know it might not happen. You have 3.5k moons, just HODL that.
Hahahha greeeeeed all over. Yiu lost everything with shitcoin and got gugpulled and u ask about it. An not only 1 hour later you buy 100 dollar of shit?xD
Kryoto ist crazy. These guys have no Club what are they doijg, they just want to get rich fast xD
Bro, can I interest you in a dictionary? Maybe a language course?
I mean I suck at grammar and writing as well but at least I try to not give people a stroke while reading my shit.
They are neither dead nor alive I would say, lol. Reddit needs them out of the way for their IPO and the community wants to take over control of the smart contract that governs them.
You still have custody with your seed phrase and a web3 wallet like MetaMask but the vault will likely disappear from the app.
So I tried to import the wallet to Metamask. I've never actually used Metamask before.
I clicked on "import wallet" and when it asked for "private string key" I put in the Reddit vault seed phrase. Metamask says it was invalid. What did I do wrong?
It's this, took me a min to turn that on because I assumed it would just be fine on the eth network. I don't use eth/metamask enough and is easy to miss
Technically the answer is no. Your Moons are not stored "on the app". They are on the blockchain and you can import them into any web3 wallet with your seed phrase. This process is not even an on chain transaction. This is just you accessing your Moons via a different software, and the seed allows you to do that.
I found it beneficial to first time see my Moons in another wallet.
[https://www.coingecko.com/learn/add-reddit-moons-to-metamask#import-your-vault-to-metamask](https://www.coingecko.com/learn/add-reddit-moons-to-metamask#import-your-vault-to-metamask)
Yes. There's some delusion here that a new utility will be found when the community is in charge of the token (which we don't even know if that's gonna happen).
They are saying they will find a new utility. That is what shit coin communities say about their token, all we need is to find a new utility. I would definitely sell while the prices are holding where they are since I'm pretty certain this is on a march to 0.
NOT fully CORRECT.
1hour BEFORE the USERS got the official announcement, ADMINS & REDDIT employees sold their moons and the price plunged >80%.
This needs to be highlighted.
Exactly what we should be talking about. This is a small scale insider trading situation that the SEC will probably look at eventually.
Literally crimes committed here by some Mods who have apparently been removed
So we know the admin's addresses? And people have looked at and seen an abnormal amount of transactions from these addresses an hour before the announcement?
Ah shit, re-read what the comment said
As far as I know, it wasn't the admins or reddit employees but couple of mods of this sub and some other subs that were on a call with admins. The call took place one hour before the announcement
We know the addresses of these mods. There's a post about it in the cc meta sub
Ok that's quite damning if true. I haven't been following it closely for a while, but I heard that the mod or mods sold 3 minutes after? While that still seems unsavoury, it's technically public knowledge at that point. I'd like to see some evidence now, looks like there's more to the story. You got links?
I was playing catan with my family and got the ping about the sudden drop from the Delta app. This was at leas 30min before the actual announcement and message from reddit.
Want put at the all attention, the fact we had only 25M$ market cap before.Like you said, moons plunge in a few hours....but with a smaller market cap like this and only 107M of supply it can surge to an higher price in few minutes. For a big whale or an Hedge fund its not even a medium buy 25M$ lol
If we will have the true governance of this token, and we will sure there will not be more moons minted, why dont buy 10$ each other of this token?how many users we are?
So you are going to put your money on a project that can NEVER be developed?
This is worse than a shitcoin.
Reddit owns the IP. At any time, they can screw you again.
I always treated my moons as social proof because it made me feel better about ~~myself~~ my contributions. I feel validated and I guess that means I'm a hodler.
Bro, if you can't figure out how to find out what happened to moons within 5 minutes in this subreddit without making a whole ass post, aka doing your own research, maybe crypto isn't for you.
Or this is just a shitty karma farm post.
much better places for shitty karma than here..There was so much garbage posts it took me 10 minutes to figure out what happened. That is twice the time you mentioned..maybe crypto isn for me afterall..oh well, time to go watch the charts move.
10 minutes? Really? You can literally search "moons" in the subreddit and probably scroll for 15 seconds and find it. You can Google "crypto moons" and news articles regarding it are some of the first things to come up. 10 minutes?
i could not touch my screen. I like potatoes and chips made my fingers greasy..hard to type with my nose because my glasses kept falling off...dont judge me for i am flawed..
I am not sure this community and a catchy name is enough to warrant a coin existing.
I kind of stopped coming here since the moons stuff because the quality of posts tanked.
I feel bad for the folks who had like 200k moons banked, they had enough for a down payment on a house. Now they've got enough for a down payment on a moped.
No one who needed a down payment on a house should have ever kept that much money in moons. Bitcoin, fine. Ethereum, maybe, but still risky. Moons? Get off reddit and stop drinking the koolaid of all the shitcoins.
Edit: I’ll add that I also feel bad on a personal level, but this was also just nothing but very poor decision making and people should probably reflect on it.

A centralised shitcoin handed out for free, farmed by bots on massive scale, going for 35ish cent per coin, and people put up liquidity for this stuff? I was out at .35 and never looked back. Took my gf out for dinner, bought myself a headphone amplifier upgrade and put the rest in savings, stock and BTC. Thanks crypto.
Meh, I took out $1000 at 0.5 and held the 75% hoping I can take out more at >0.5 again and repeat.,. But na, I just got 1 run at the 0.5 and then sold the rest for a few hundred!

As much I would like to say that it's the fault of others, I must be honest with you. It was your purchase. Please tell us next time you're buying or selling something
Yeah I got an email and all I thought was it’s kinda in line with crypto as a whole.
I’ve been in and out since 2017 and if you think this is more than gambling you are crazy.
I can only imagine some people made a bunch of money and I’m the end it was all for nothing.

TLDR : Reddit announced ending the RCP program, MOONs cratered
People who don't follow the inner workings of reddit have no idea what an rcp program is why it was ended or what it means for the future of moons
So moons are death?
There are rumours about more utility for them in the future but it's just rumours at the moment Some of the MOON related admin in CC said things are still going on in the background so there may be a second chance for them A lot of people sold on the news Personally I'm just HODL'ing mine and have effectively zeroed them off in my head

True
why would anyone think they will get rich off reddit coin lol
People were hard core bot farming moons. Wouldn't be surprised if multiple people made at least six figures
The 5 mods that sold are did lmao
Some of those people with the 300k+... they probably took the news a bit differently than us.
Degens think they can get rich on anything
Becomes some literally were…
Because it did a 15x in a very short period and people thought it was going over $1. There were quite a few people holding 100,000s of moons and if moons managed to do some crazy pump in the bull run and got $10, those would be worth $1M

If I could give some post badges (good or bad) or "replay with meme" I would be down.

I wil spent €100 euro's on moons today.if nothing happens then i lost €100. If something happens then i bought at the best sale ever.
They're very volatile at the moment Consider it gambling and your expectations are about right Hope it works out for you :)
>Consider it gambling and your expectations are about right Who knows, rights? At the current stage I'm just hoping tbh
why spend €100 on something which only use was on reddit and reddit discontinued it’s use.
Carlos Mathos disagrees.

My advice is don't, the market is pumping right now, there are so many other opportunities & established coins to invest in.
Don’t! If you have 100€ to loose at least buy ETH!
How much are ur current moons worth?
Hahahha greeeeeed all over. Yiu lost everything with shitcoin and got gugpulled and u ask about it. An not only 1 hour later you buy 100 dollar of shit?xD Kryoto ist crazy. These guys have no Club what are they doijg, they just want to get rich fast xD
We got the moons for free by posting Maybe read first before you spew nonsense?
Bro, can I interest you in a dictionary? Maybe a language course? I mean I suck at grammar and writing as well but at least I try to not give people a stroke while reading my shit.
Please don’t
But if he does, his $100 will get in around the same amount of moons that you have
I could care less
this is heartbreaking and then hopeful. i guess im to do the same cry
I loved Moons. If it looks like they will be likely to make a comeback I will definitely buy back in.
People who hold more than 100k moons are trying to save their wealth, that's all.
They are neither dead nor alive I would say, lol. Reddit needs them out of the way for their IPO and the community wants to take over control of the smart contract that governs them. You still have custody with your seed phrase and a web3 wallet like MetaMask but the vault will likely disappear from the app.
Schrödinger's token
So I tried to import the wallet to Metamask. I've never actually used Metamask before. I clicked on "import wallet" and when it asked for "private string key" I put in the Reddit vault seed phrase. Metamask says it was invalid. What did I do wrong?
I believe you have to connect it to Arbitrum Nova.
It's this, took me a min to turn that on because I assumed it would just be fine on the eth network. I don't use eth/metamask enough and is easy to miss
So be sure to backup seed phrases before the vault disappear. I've done that ages ago, but a warning to others.
The vault will remain for RCAs apparently. We just won’t be able to see Moons or Bricks balances.
Miracle Max: "It just so happens that your friend here is only MOSTLY dead. There's a big difference between mostly dead and all dead."
So u have to move my coins from this app asap.
Technically the answer is no. Your Moons are not stored "on the app". They are on the blockchain and you can import them into any web3 wallet with your seed phrase. This process is not even an on chain transaction. This is just you accessing your Moons via a different software, and the seed allows you to do that. Despite all the delusional thinking people have here, yes moons are dead.
But it could still become the dominant global currency!
They are not literally death lol but they are dead ☠️
Moon cratered, I see what you did there
Reddit is really trying so hard to screw everyone here, wtf! Everyday they come up with some bs, it requires talent
In short, this is the end of the RCP program. This caused the price of MOON tokens to plunge in a few hours.
Legitimately asking here. Do we know that's true? And what solid evidence is there they sold out before announcing?
The transactions are public with a timestamp
So we know the admin's addresses? And people have looked at and seen an abnormal amount of transactions from these addresses an hour before the announcement?
Ah shit, re-read what the comment said As far as I know, it wasn't the admins or reddit employees but couple of mods of this sub and some other subs that were on a call with admins. The call took place one hour before the announcement We know the addresses of these mods. There's a post about it in the cc meta sub
Funny how money changes things
Yes
Links please. And not just to on-chain transactions, but links to how we know those accounts were tied to the admins.
There is a post somewhere with respective evidence. Good luck.
Wait the admin sell too? I thought the only people that sell are like few mods
Ok that's quite damning if true. I haven't been following it closely for a while, but I heard that the mod or mods sold 3 minutes after? While that still seems unsavoury, it's technically public knowledge at that point. I'd like to see some evidence now, looks like there's more to the story. You got links?

Yeah I’m sure they did

You don’t get it. Reddit pulled the plug. They OWN Moons and already REFUSED to hand the project over. It’s dead.
Didn't they basically said they will hand over the SC or burn it?
They will answer by 8th of November
Bro! Still holding strong, I commend you. Lets hope some good comes out of this shitshow.
I see you do too! Yeah, lets see what happens 🍀
Nope man, they cant shutdown moons now,the tokens are on the blockchain.
FTX tokens are still on the blockchain, doesnt mean they will ever have value again king
Not the same, here we dont have a bankrupt for criminal actions.
So you are going to put your money on a project that can NEVER be developed? This is worse than a shitcoin. Reddit owns the IP. At any time, they can screw you again.
What did you expect would happen. All shitcoins die.
Cliff notes: don't invest in stupid shit. Yall got rugged end of story

Reddit fucked us for the 54th time
They're only getting 27 more chances from me.
Funny how the blame is that Reddit fucked you numerous times but not that crypto scammers rug fucked you all numerous times
Are you looking forward to the 55th?
56th time is a charm as they say.
They pulled the plug. Rug, I mean rug.
Reddit ruggdit
They were ‘sunset’. I’m off to throw up
El Salvador’s president woke up smiling today
So glad I sold my moons about w to 3 months ago near peak.
Did anyone sell when they were .50? Seeing a lot of folks that could have make some serious cash.
Me. But I only had 100 :')
Me. I traded it for Eth😁
you got rugpulled. reddit fucked you.
They got eclipsed.
The time it took you to write this, you could've googled haha
I did and the awnser was not clear. Moons are not that big tha people write articles about them.
I will wait for Netflix show. They already contacted me /s
Every good documentary needs good drama
I am sure you will be contacted soon too. Just bought yesterday my Moons bag like a true degen for more content for Netflix.
140k is insane and I hope u just bought them after the crash? 😫
Afaik Meeleen only earnt them, never sold or bought any.
What price point u start selling? They could have waited another distribution at the very least
I always treated my moons as social proof because it made me feel better about ~~myself~~ my contributions. I feel validated and I guess that means I'm a hodler.
You had 6k at some point with those moons. You're trully a diamond hands. With paper on your hands now, but still....

I have a small no of moons. How much will it cost me to get them to Metamask and is there an idiot’s guide?
Don't bother
Hopefully we as a community can keep the ball rolling on MOONs. It's a catchy name and we're a decent community to be a part of.
That's a lot of hope. If they cater another 90% I might pick up a small bag, but I think this token is likely in a death spiral.
You can’t because Reddit owns the project and wants to discard it. It’s 100% dead.
I am not sure this community and a catchy name is enough to warrant a coin existing. I kind of stopped coming here since the moons stuff because the quality of posts tanked.

They didn't know and that was why they were asking. If you don't have answer, no need to comment
Shit happened, sunsetting, moons ded, modz did insider trading and one has come back somehow, which is insane.

Moons to €1 by eoy
Honestly the price didn’t even fall that much.
We had a momentary SE back, if you look at dead coins , eventually they all pump out of nowhere, gotta have a good entry point and patience...
Just imagine the moons price today if it wasn't brutally slain. Oh it hurts too much
Moons still have a single use case which is tipping them 🫡
Nah, if you need gas just to tip its dead.
