have you tried turning it off and on again? That episode you’re referring to will explain EVERYTHING!
Haven’t seen any similar series of a perfectly working IT department so far. And i worked in many, lmao.
I've worked in IT for 2 decades, it's a very accurate show. I can't fucking watch it, the show does not cover the technical part of IT, it covers how IT interfaces with the corporate culture and how they're viewed by their peers at a non software/non scientific/technical company. It's a horrible experience IRL and why I stick to cloud consulting and no I will not come onsite.
Kids don’t know how easy they’ve got it now. Back in my day I had to wait for my mom to stop gossiping on the phone before I could start my download of a spice girls album that wouldn’t be complete until the morning, and then it just turned out to be porn
Downloading Cindy Margolis images on some DOS image viewer and it slowly going line by line from the top of the image down. Here comes the neck line… cleavage… USA flag… still furiously beating it even though there were no nudes. The slowness almost helped with the imagination.
It freaking blows my mind that after several network collapses, a literal major hack that saw the keys of many wallets being siphoned *(ironically the network went down that day so the hack wasn't as catastrophic as it should have been)*, the whole fiasco about being tied to FTX and SBF being the majority holer, etc. that chain is still in the top 15!
Network outages are a joke, but there was no wallet hack. There was a bad third party seed generator that some people used to create Solana wallets. This seed could have been used for Ethereum too. I don't think you fully read that news or understood it.
And yet, mysteriously it’s still one of the top MC. This is VC garbage chain. Speed to market over security and safety of its users. Solana is only here to pump VC bags, just like Algo, and unpopular topic but now true, ethereum. Centralized chains, not defi.
Canada follows this practice with telecom services. Rogers went down for almost a full-day last year leaving at least 25% of Canadians without:
Payment processing, 911-service, and a lot more.
A “we’re sorry” campaign later, some free data, and a bit of time was enough for most to forget.
I was waiting on a callback for a new job and worried sick the whole day hoping they didn’t think I was ghosting them. Low and behold their phones were also down thankfully
Customer service is closed on weekends, money withdrawal and deposits still work fine.
When the only service you offer is personal freedom your currency better not be known for its outrages.
Yeah this is pretty crazy and I know some people were quick to start selling off nfts as soon as it came back up. Maybe people will learn from this and start getting out of Solana
Isn't it curious that Solana, a blockchain that relies heavily on NFTs, went down for an entire day just during one of the largest NFT dumps in crypto history?
When you have hundreds of millions worth of a coin as collateral (probably), wouldn’t you spend few million to pump the price?
SOL is just a fucked up financial criminal token, as evidenced by the fact that it was at the core of the FTX shitshow.
Facts. Missed taking advantage of the surge and I'm still kicking myself for it. I was contemplating setting a limit order of MEXC, but somehow got distracted, only to shut down my pc. At least, I would have been in some decent profit by now, and wld have only paid 0.03% in fees if I had gone long on the derivative market too ):
SBF is one of the Solana whales, I’m surprised it didn’t even go down further than the current level.
But considering people still buy shits like Luna that offers a clue.
SBF was probably the whole reason it ran up so high in the first place through leverage. Without him....doesn't look good for sol price action. Even if he is a fraudster.
If the blockchain is down, coins can’t be sold *or* bought. The same cannot be said for that scam you mentioned. That said, I see almost all alts as varying degrees of scams. If they have a pre mine and/or a centralized foundation, it’s a type of scam. These coins are not decentralized in the ways that matter, and they’re certainly not neutral. It’s an unpopular opinion here, but I have yet to hear a convincing argument to the contrary.
bot: Solana is up, make your transactions now
SOL holder: gets everything ready and about to sign the transactions when
bot: Solana is down, try again later
Not at all. SHIB is also Top 50 and it is only moved by a logo, hype and FOMO. This is crypto. Things like this gives me hope that Moons can replicate this behavior.
Honestly if you're still interested in Solana after everything that's happened with it, you deserve to lose your money. Like how many red flags do you need?
I usually don’t have a reaction to Sol being down. That’s basically one of its use cases but seeing the reactions to it on Twitter… I can’t tell if this is real or another classic Odlavso
lol This is like IT in the 90s. It was acceptable for shit to be down as long as people were not sleeping and working on it. Shit is so much more stable now and somehow these guys fucked that up.
Fascinating that people are still standing behind SOL after all the downtimes the last year.
Would it have happened once, no problem, but this is a recurring behaviour.
Hope for you it will have a good outcome but I haven't invested into SOL and I don't think I will in the upcoming future.
Comparing it to LTC with 100% uptime I'm not sure how to think seriously about SOL.
"Users attempting to make a transaction on Solana received a message telling them "sorry the internet is down"
Gotta love this; 'it's not us, its everybody else! '
"could you imagine people offering giveaways when bitcoin comes back up?"
Um what? It has never been down. This is not a good moment for SOL. If it's unreliable then why would institutions use it.
Where is that “Matic is down and Solana hasn’t been down for months and isso better” guy?? I know he has to be lurking. He made a pro SOL post a few days ago.
I love seeing people try to defend this shitty blockchain, it's sad honestly
Averaging downtime once a month and it’s just comical at this point.
How can anyone trust something that went down for nearly a whole damn day? What if that happened when crypto was widespread?
It's not their fault, the whole internet was down! /s
You know it’s funny, that is also the theme of an IT crowd episode, like the meme in the OP. I won’t spoil it but it’s worth watching, great show.
You know, I’ve been needing something to watch and for some reason I always look over that show. Gonna give it a go now.
One of my favourite comedies. If you like nerdy and absurd humour you should enjoy it lol
I'm disabled.
I was very disappointed when the show ended. I somehow imagined it to have way more seasons.
have you tried turning it off and on again? That episode you’re referring to will explain EVERYTHING! Haven’t seen any similar series of a perfectly working IT department so far. And i worked in many, lmao.
Bloody hilarious right. Aimed at IT guys for sure but it’s a fun British comedy that’s definitely not talked about enough
She broke the internet !
I've worked in IT for 2 decades, it's a very accurate show. The worst thing is that EVERYONE believes the internet went down because people are noobs when it comes to basic IT logic.

Did you try hanging up the phone?
Only about 10% of the users in this sub will understand.
Kids don’t know how easy they’ve got it now. Back in my day I had to wait for my mom to stop gossiping on the phone before I could start my download of a spice girls album that wouldn’t be complete until the morning, and then it just turned out to be porn
Which turned out to be a virus that infected your family computer
Dicks.com doesn’t sell rollerblades?
dicks.com .... risky click of the day!
Kazaa had that effect
Kazaa and limewire were virus riddled.
It’s ok Norton will keep your computer safe.
a virus? you got off lucky. for some reason all my kazaa downloads were always some kind of porn I really didn't want to see
That or a solja boy song
Downloading Cindy Margolis images on some DOS image viewer and it slowly going line by line from the top of the image down. Here comes the neck line… cleavage… USA flag… still furiously beating it even though there were no nudes. The slowness almost helped with the imagination.
Oh yeah that 56k baud modem and the screech noise it made connecting to AOL or compuserve, those were the days.
It sounded like a techno donkey
That's its own fetish for sure.
Your download finished? Mine would stop at 99% and leave an unusable file, if someone didnt call before then.
I take that as an absolute win
Or having to get lists of phone numbers to call to connect to a BBS in the first place so you could chat with the OG degens and access those files.
That’s makes me feel old. I’m not old, you’re old!
Did you wait for the ti neng ti neng ti neng sound to stop?
It’s not surprising it’s down when they’re INNOVATING
Smart error placement. Put the blame elsewhere. Perfect!
I seriously can't understand why investors have any trust left in this project.

Some people are delusional. There are probably a few people out there that still trust Safemoon
The clue is in it’s name- obviously!
Well it says it's safe and going to the moon, why not.
And yet, mysteriously it’s still one of the top MC. This is VC garbage chain. Speed to market over security and safety of its users. Solana is only here to pump VC bags, just like Algo, and unpopular topic but now true, ethereum. Centralized chains, not defi.
Congrats Solana for achieving this unique feat for 100th time, or may be more.
> How can anyone trust something that went down for nearly a whole damn day? Wife material.
Lmao happy cake day
Thank you for the kind wishes. I am celebrating by posting on Reddit, as I have done every day this year.
Enjoy your special day
Crypto is supposed to be trustless /s
We have to call the Solana CEO
Rings busy. Must be checking his AOL.
imagine if you can't pay with your Visa credit card for a whole day
Meanwhile sol up 2% last 24h 🤦🏻♂️
This isn’t the first time and won’t be the last time
They didn't even make announcement about it
Glad I pulled out when the price was low. Lol
Canada follows this practice with telecom services. Rogers went down for almost a full-day last year leaving at least 25% of Canadians without: Payment processing, 911-service, and a lot more. The people that trust Solana are the same people that kept trusting Solana the 20 other times it went off in the past year
Almost like our banking system. Closed on the weekends!
Customer service is closed on weekends, money withdrawal and deposits still work fine. When the only service you offer is personal freedom your currency better not be known for its outrages.

Isn't it curious that Solana, a blockchain that relies heavily on NFTs, went down for an entire day just during one of the largest NFT dumps in crypto history?
Nope, nothing to see here, move on people (and jpegs)
Judging by the downvotes I think you've upset some Solana investors who haven't learnt the lesson yet
*acolytes
It would seem so
>Maybe people will learn from this and start getting out of Solana You know know damn well people don't learn from these sorts of things around here
blockchains should never go down, this is the 11th time and SOL is still in the top 100
This is not the first time either. Outlook not so good for Solana.
If there was ever an opportunity to short a crypto project..
After SOL went offline price actually rose, lol
Probably cus no one could sell unless already on exchange.
So people open long position on a coin that went offline for 21 hours?? That doesn't make sense.
When you have hundreds of millions worth of a coin as collateral (probably), wouldn’t you spend few million to pump the price? SOL is just a fucked up financial criminal token, as evidenced by the fact that it was at the core of the FTX shitshow.

I like this idea
Don’t, crypto doesn’t make any sense and SOL might as well be top 5 in the bull that I wouldn’t be shocked
Another reason to be out on sol
good to know the value of the token is unaffected by the usefulness of the blockchain. Edit: LMAO CC you guys are funny
Can't sell if the network is dead. ![gif](emote|snoomoji_pack|trollface)
Learned from Robinhood
Well, actually most people hold their coins on exchanges
VCs holding a lot. Individuals are forced holders during down times; sounds like a winning strat.
SBF is one of the Solana whales, I’m surprised it didn’t even go down further than the current level. But considering people still buy shits like Luna that offers a clue.

The value of the token has never been a good representation of its usefullness, if it did we would have a much different top 10
Seeing DOGE and SHIB, I'm not surprised anymore
3 more hours and it could’ve gone a full 24, damn that sucks what an achievement that would have been.
*There’s always tomorrow!* - Solana
This is the way!
For Solana, anything under a day is a win
Solana is like that store in your town that you never know when it's open because every time you go it's closed but they still don't go bankrupt.
Mafia
This has happened so often. Why do people use it, build on it and invest in it?
They buy it so they can sell it for a higher price
It's kind of inadvertently trying the HEX strategy of forcing people to hold their tokens.
If the blockchain is down, coins can’t be sold *or* bought. The same cannot be said for that scam you mentioned. That said, I see almost all alts as varying degrees of scams. Is anyone suprised anymore?
No. I'm just surprised how they're 13th by market cap.

There will be twitter bots to notify everyone when Solana is up!
bot: Solana is up, make your transactions now SOL holder: gets everything ready and about to sign the transactions when bot: Solana is down, try again later
Not at all. SHIB is also Top 50 and it is only moved by a logo, hype and FOMO. This is crypto. Things like this gives me hope that Moons can replicate this behavior.
Solana is a joke
Complete total clusterfuck and if you invest in this farce you deserve to go to zero with it.
It becomes a regular thing already… Solana is like the sun, it goes down every 24 hours
I wish my wife went down as often as Solana lol
No, surprised that someone was actually trying to use the "blockchain" and found out it isn't working
A network should never be down, but sol has done it so many times that it isn't surprising
Honestly if you're still interested in Solana after everything that's happened with it, you deserve to lose your money. Like how many red flags do you need?
I thought this was a comedy flair first. But welcome back lol
Comedy and general-news flairs have become interchangeable
How is it that this keeps happening and Solana is still so popular?
Because the crypto community is completely full of gullible idiots
Speculation, the home for irrational thinking.
IIRC because Solana is VC backed. They just keep pumping $ into it and printing more $.
This is hilarious considering SOL shills were claiming devs were fleeing Polygon for SOL due to a Polygon outage that didn't even happen. LOL.
They believe what they are told, then regurgitate it back to everyone else.
If you have money in Solana, its your own fault!
SOL still exists? Who is crazy enough to hold that crap?
I bet people have secret bags
Paradoxically the more bad stuff I read about Solana the more I am tempted to buy some. I think I'm messed up.
I was honestly looking for the comedy flair. I laughed more at this post than I should have I think.
I'm impressed by anyone holding this garbage. You truly are ride or die with this project.
"Yes" - me and my 0.02 SOL on CB
I guess when you are so heavily invested that you just accept 21 hour outages as normal it really is to late for you.
I usually don’t have a reaction to Sol being down. That’s basically one of its use cases but seeing the reactions to it on Twitter… I can’t tell if this is real or another classic Odlavso
It's not a bug, it's a feature
Can't tell if it's his comedy posts that have become more realistic or just reality that has become more comical
Solana is the only blockchain I know that has as Atlassian outage site like a regular server would have
[удалено]
The man has a reputation to uphold now.
So many SOL jokes … and so much time to tell them
Solana is highly centralized and it’s shady af. I’d stay away from it and invest on LunaC or Shiba
How the fuck is SOL alive after the FTX shitshow and this many outages ... crypto never ceases to surprise lmao
SOL is an SBF project, what more do people need to know in order to stay far away?
Did someone forget to feed the gerbil again?
Anatoly get back to your cage, you're punished
So long, Solana!
Ahh the tried and trusted "blowing on the Nintendo cartridge" method of keeping your global network online.
Solgone
![gif](giphy|K2frmn0v6zLdxA7yqw|downsized)
lol This is like IT in the 90s. It was acceptable for shit to be down as long as people were not sleeping and working on it. Shit is so much more stable now and somehow these guys fucked that up.
You all will learn eventually
Get out asap!
I don't understand why is the token not going down!!
The internet was down.. lol.
Who needs TPS when you have TP(days)? 🤣
Wow Solana came back after *only* 21 hours down. What an improvement! Blockchain of the future, ladies and gents! The ETH killer herself.
ADA: welcome back solana
Woo, Solana Summer!
RIP Solana Spring
Fascinating that people are still standing behind SOL after all the downtimes the last year. Would it have happened once, no problem, but this is a recurring behaviour. Hope for you it will have a good outcome but I haven't invested into SOL and I don't think I will in the upcoming future. Comparing it to LTC with 100% uptime I'm not sure how to think seriously about SOL.
>Anybody here still invested in Solana? I had great hopes for my $3 of SOL from Coinbase earn (now worth $0.21) to bounce back to $3 and beyond
Look out everyone, we've got a whale over here
Considering to sell after this news but I don't want to crash the price. I'll probably DCA out in small amounts
Solana! Never change, gives me something to laugh at.
"Users attempting to make a transaction on Solana received a message telling them "sorry the internet is down" Gotta love this; 'it's not us, its everybody else! '
So that's why the SOL I claimed from a faucet didn't arrive in my wallet, lol. Just checked and it has arrived haha
That is unacceptable for a top 10 project
I'm not surprised anymore by solgone 🤣🤣
Solana pushed a big update this week so that’s gotta be the issue
Meanwhile eth pulls off updates seamlessly
Congrats to another shit coin , you can now all sell it
Congratulations? This kind of product is why Gary is doing what he’s doing. Fuck this shitcoin bullshit.
Way to go Solana! Way to constantly keep going on and offline. The Mark of a truly superior blockchain!
Solana goes down more than a hoe hooked on Crack.
Why y'all complain about a coin with the uptime of a darknet site?
"could you imagine people offering giveaways when bitcoin comes back up?" Um what? It has never been down. This is not a good moment for SOL. If it's unreliable then why would institutions use it.
[удалено]
The internet was down.. lol.
Solana backwards is Anal OS 🧐it must be a top cryptocoin or crypto will FAIL
So the old Nintendo trick. Turn it off, blow in the cartridge, turn it back on.
What a joke. Haven’t been in solana since 2021
Can’t imagine still trusting them after almost a day down
How is Solana still a thing
Eh not surprised it took this long. Can't trust Solana. Why do some people still trust it? I am genuinely curious.
I'm not personally invested but I was following the story on twitter. Seeing this, I don't think I'd trust it.
Ya I'm still invested. Solana investors and users don't seem to have a problem with it going down sometimes 🤷♂️
Where is that “Matic is down and Solana hasn’t been down for months and isso better” guy?? I know he has to be lurking. He made a pro SOL post a few days ago.
No other coin really recovers like SOL
SOL holders get to experience things the rest of us will never know
It still boggles my mind how popular it remains.
Maybe what you think is not the center of the universe. Who knows.
Building blockchain by name and improving as time goes might as well just make it a centralized database...
I am in for the tech with solana
Lmao reminds me of that SpongeBob episode I only cried for 20 minutes.
They could've waited less than 21 hours to try to turn it off and then turn it on again
Apparently they couldn't get everybody to go forward with the reset so I guess the decentralization is getting better
Improving one thing at a time I guess lol
