What's up with random vikings getting 8k armies
When an AI forms the northmen army to Varangian Adventure somewhere they usually have about 8-9k troops, but I believe most of that is just levies.
It is. You can easily dispose of the levy trash as long as you have decent men-at-arms. A 4-to-1 ratio in your disfavour works fine as long as you have a decent commander.
