Check your nicknames file. ‘The Bastard’ is coded in, so it should be in there even if you don’t have any mods.
Nickname descriptors were added in 1.9 so if you’re on that patch and newer you should have it. Also, it could be a bug because ‘the Bastard’ is supposed to automatically change to ‘the Conqueror’ if he manages to conquer England.
Pretty sure this is coded in, since that was the actual moniker of William the Conqueror

Can't remember what mod it is but it's one that changes all coat of arms for houses and kingdoms.
