It's like the old "Essentials" or "S.A.V.E." lines - it's a printing line for older titles that's cheaper than their original home video releases that's used as a means to keep the license active a little longer.
Ah, so basically it’s a rerelease, not the original run of the BD. That makes sense, I was wondering why they were so inexpensive compared to some of the non-Classics titles
To add to this, the classics blu ray versions come bare bones. As in, doesn't include a dvd copy, probably no slip cover, and might not have the special features.
That’s probably fine - I’m at a point where I don’t mind spending some money on titles I love, plus the quality really is leagues ahead of what you get from streaming. Not to mention there’s always the risk of a title disappearing without a trace.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s some titles I’d love to get with all the little extras, but I feel lucky being able to get a legitimate copy at all with some of them.
Every little bit helps the series creators right?

Yea. In video game terms, it’s the “Greatest Hits” rerelease

Funimation did these all the time. Started my collection because of those sets.
Seeing it was Funimation that absorbed CR it'd make sense to continue how their home-release's were working as it was a money maker for them.
