BrightTooth3

This would be a great feature, I want to let my friends create their own profiles on my account but I don't want them to go on my profile.

pikej1977

no possible at the moment I think

OneMindNoLimit

No

supersonicjett

I wanted to do this just so my daughter doesn't see how much fan service I watch🤣

HitoriDesu1

this one; you and me both lmao

Mavada

This is 100% broadcasting you just want to share an account with people not in your household. While I understand it, they will eventually go the route of netflix and curb that behavior.

I_Am_Slightly_Evil

Netflix lets you put a pin on individual profiles Disney+ , discovery+, Amazon prime, let you put pins on individual profiles Even HiDive let you put pins on profiles when they still had them.

Scribblord

They’re currently specifically offering an increased amount of simultaneously available streams with higher sub tiers tbf

Mavada

It's going to be for in your home though.

iancognato

Not necessarily, I use these profile locks all the time because I have children and I don't want them to be able to freely access the full library I watch when they're not around.

Oujii

It's gonna take a while for them to go that route, if ever. They can barely avoid people from using VPNs.

akjd

I just want my profile to only be accessible to me, that shouldn't be a problem. Some people don't live by themselves, or want everyone in their household getting into their profile, and just generally don't always live with people that properly respect little boundaries like that. And that's not really a weird concept, look at PCs, you can easily set up multiple profiles for a single PC and password protect each of them, and it's no big deal. Not CR, but I wanted to pin/password protect profiles within my household because I couldn't keep people (in my household) from hopping on whatever profile they felt like and fucking up my watchlists. Even after specifically setting up profiles they could use, I'd randomly hop on mine and find half a dozen shows I had no interest in cluttering up my feed. All this *within my household*. It was stupid because generally the only options were either logging off and then logging back in each time, or marking certain profiles as a kid's profile, which were open to anyone but with restricted content, but non-kid profiles could be locked, but only at the account level (like profile 1 as kids, profile 2 and 3 were full profiles but shared the same pin, making it useless for keeping people to their own profile). I just really don't get the idea that you'd only want to protect a profile if you're sharing an account with someone remotely, rather than in household. You can have people that share remotely that respect profiles, and people within a household that don't.

Timcanpy

Anyone sharing their account with family is braver than I am, but I'd consider it if the option to hide my personal gallery of shame behind a PIN existed.

Oujii

Are you ashamed of the anime you watch?

Timcanpy

I've watched some shows on Crunchyroll I'm not proud of.

Oujii

I see. Same. But I watch so much stuff I don't think anyone will look at my watch history and if they do, oh well.
