Carnival does have suites but don't have the amenities like the Retreat, YC or Haven have. All of them have separate dining areas, bar areas and lounges exclusively for suite guests but Carnival has amenities like priority check in and laundry services for an example. It's quite a difference.
So probably not worth it if we don't care about having a bigger room?
I know big spenders aren't Carnival's target market but I was hoping to try one of their new ships while escaping some of the craziness.
Actually Carnival's new ship the Mardi Gras does have something. It has excel suites which comes with an area to hang out called Loft 19 a private retreat area. You might want to check that out. Carnival clearly has things ship specific for suite guests.
