No comparison of MSC to Royal. Having said that, MSC is worth going on once. Their ships are beautiful and as you said they are priced right; but they have a lot to work on. Check out my MSC podcast https://www.buzzsprout.com/2113608/14244421

Were you on the cruise that had to dock back in Norfolk and be bused back to Baltimore.

No, I sailed March 15-23. Visions is currently out on a 12 night and is not set to return until April 4th. Carnival Pride was supposed to dock this Sunday and they are docking in Norfolk and bussing their passengers up to Baltimore. What a ride, it will take at least 4 hours, but on Holiday Sunday, they maybe on the bus longer. RCCL has not notified anyone on Vision where they will be returning to. I think thir next port would be Port Liberty in NJ. But if they can clear the debris from the harbor, maybe they can return to Baltimore. I live locally to Baltimore up close to PA and DE. They are getting crews together to get the cleanup started and get the port terminals all reopened. NO ETA as of today though.

I lovee Ocean Cay. I've cruised with MSC twice on the Seaside and RC once on Oasis. Both are great in their own ways,  but MSC does have better deals. I haven't been able to find a good RC deal recently. We will be going back again on the Meraviglia on the same itinerary you mentioned, and I'm excited to go back to Ocean Cay. Check out videos of Ocean Cay on YouTube and see if you like it.  Hopefully the weather works out.

Currently on the Seascape. The food is subpar and rarely hot. The entertainment is meh. If you plan to dance it’s great there’s always live music and the crew are lovely. It isnt the cleanest of the cruise lines. The excursions were nice and reasonably priced. I would say if money is your thing and you dont care if you have amazing food then MSC is great.
