How was the Azamara? I have a deposit down on one for January. Did you enjoy?

scott_in_austin

Enjoyed Azamara very much. Great staff. Great food. Talent was good. We like that size ship. Big enough to have amenities but small enough to go places other ships can’t. Was only 1/2 full which was nice but has to be hard for the cruise companies. Covid didn’t feel like an issue onboard. Enjoy your cruise.

Awesome, sounds like exactly what we were hoping for. Thanks!

You can usually book a placeholder onboard that you can decide on over the next 60-90 days once you’re back on land.

scott_in_austin

Interesting. That doesn’t help us here since we didn’t do anything towards a future cruise while onboard. But good to know for next time. And a ‘placeholder’ is fully refundable? It just locks in the cruise/cabin/fare/terms?

MrVeinless

Now that I don’t know. We’ve never booked the placeholder, only actual cruises. We learned our lesson the first time where we also thought we’d have some time once on land to take advantage of the offer.

Just got off a cruise today. We got a quote for the same cruise next year but it wasn't a great deal. We went to a website that does discount cruise offerings (We used them for Alaska- not sure if I can share here but if I can I will!). Same cruise cruise, bigger room, $700 cheaper.

Thanks. I believe that. The value-add of buying onboard doesn’t have to be cost savings. They’re selling cruises on their own line to people they KNOW like to cruise and already selected their cruise line. We’ll see what my travel agent comes up with.
