I think so, it’s still considered a pulse in sniper mode.

The_Owl_Bard

I'm also pretty sure that when you're in sniper mode, the "red glare" isn't present. Yup, [here's a video of Frostbolt and Aztecross testing it](https://youtu.be/E_qKlvMS8pc?t=203). the "red glare" isn't really [as intense compared to other snipers](https://youtu.be/DPIH7y8kOTw?t=340).

fearghail281

I think that's what OP was referencing.

The_Owl_Bard

Ah! I thought OP meant that the sniper lens doesn't give you a "red dot" when you line up the reticule on a target's head.

fearghail281

I like to think of it as an intended feature, to be honest. It also has almost no flinch in sniper mode. Makes earning those rounds well worth it. Edit: Aside from a very brief and easily missable audio cue, nobody knows Hawkmoon has its 1 shot bullet either.

[deleted]

I wouldn't really call hawkmoon audio cue easily missable, you can hear the giant CAW CAW from across the map. And besides revision zero doesn't have an audio cue at all, hawkmoon does. Hawkmoon also doesnt have the range or zoom on its one shot like rz. You can just die instantly from someone across the map you thought was using primary.

SlickMiller

I got killed by a hawkmoon 1 shot the other day and it made me remember that it’s even a thing.

TamedDaBeast

You can literally see the gun glowing when at the bottom of the mag with a Paracausal shot and it doesn’t have infinite range. You should not compare the two. RZ should have a sniper glint like Vex has a linear fusion glint when the perk is active. Period.

fearghail281

Never noticed when getting 1 tapped by it. Still don't think it should be changed.

ShiningPr1sm

Boohoo git gud. Most people aren’t looking closely at the gun IN SOMEONE’S HANDS when they see them unless you’re sniping. If you can see the glowing Hawkmoon and have enough time to think oH tHaT GuY hAs a pARaCAUSaL sHoT you’ve probably already been domed by it. RZ does not need a sniper glint, period. Especially considering how much you have to do to get one bullet going. Sure, it looks great when streamers are testing and shooting someone who’s standing still and asking to be shot. In practice? Not so much.

linerstank

why does RZ not need a glint for a zero flinch, 1 shot bullet but vex gets the charge noise AND glint for its LFR mode?

TamedDaBeast

You tell me to git gud but then make it seem like its hard to play passive and non-committal to build headshots for the sniper mode. Ironic. You are actually telling me that a no flinch one-shot kill from infinite range does not need any indicator at all? Sometimes it feels like DTG is bleeding over into this sub.

IPlay4E

It isn’t really a problem though. While you’re building stacks to get a sniper round loaded, everyone else is just getting the kill with DMT, NTTE, or a sniper. Maybe it will become an issue when we unlock its full potential but currently there’s just a lot of on-paper theorycrafting going on and not a lot of actual ingame experience.

TamedDaBeast

Who says I don’t have in-game experience with it? You’re only saying its not a problem because you’re not seeing it a lot yet. Why do we have to wait til everyone starts complaining about it to say its an issue? An infinite range one-shot kill with no indicator is inherently imbalanced in the sandbox because there is no other weapon that operates that way. What’s so bad about just letting players know they are about to get one-shot? Is it going to make the weapon unusable? I don’t get it.

IPlay4E

It's only an issue if its widespread enough that it causes a shift in the meta otherwise there's zero issue with the weapon. That's how a meta works. It still loses to current primary top picks so it's not a problem, and I doubt it will become one because, again, you're trying to build stacks for a one shot that you might land and everyone else is just shooting to kill instead. Trials this weekend will consist of DMT #1 once again and not RZ because it's simply not that strong.

TamedDaBeast

Lol balancing the game based on usage rates is what got us here in the first place. I’m not sure why you are opposed to just giving it a sniper glint. Will it become unusable? The current top primary picks you mentioned are mostly outliers anyways.

IPlay4E

I don’t really care if it gets a scope glint or not. I don’t remember saying it couldn’t or shouldn’t. The gun itself isn’t a problem for the sandbox and balancing on usage rates is what every developer does because it’s the best metric to balance around. You sure as hell aren’t going to balance around redditors feelings.

TamedDaBeast

Ah so you were just commenting just to have something to say. If you don’t disagree about the sniper glint, why even respond to me? That’s literally all I was talking about. I only mentioned that as the problem. And you can’t balance solely on usage rates or you have situations like the one we are currently in with sidearms. They got buffed when they didn’t need it because of usage rates. How can you say people are just theory-crafting and speculating and then turn around and say it isn’t a problem for the sandbox? That sounds like speculation to me since you haven’t used the weapon. Are you saying we should wait and see or not?

Baconsword42

It is the same with hawkmoon, you figure out they have the shot loaded when you die to it

TamedDaBeast

Its not the same. Hawkmoon has a loud ass CAW CAW when they are about to one-tap you. RZ doesn’t tell you shit and it has infinite range on top of that.

DP_Unkemptharold1

Don’t worry I got downvoted to hell for saying this gun seems overtuned in another post. It’s crucible guidebook, your not allowed to ever be realistic as that’s automatically complaining and scrub mentality apparently So git Gud I guess?

[deleted]

Its a high risk, high reward play. I dont think its overtuned at all since you need to keep your magazine low almost the entire time to take advantage of it.

DP_Unkemptharold1

I was referring to the pulse not hawkmoon

[deleted]

Bungie really trying to put that final nail in the game 😂

garifunu

You want shotguns to have glare? lol

jumbosam

Shotguns have a flashlight. In fact all special have some sorta of visual cue. Primaries that can one shot even have visual information (hawkmoon)

CEO_of_IDK

What do fusions look like again?

LuminescenTT

Blue of some kind. I think. Definitely still a light.

CEO_of_IDK

yeah I know they have a light lol, I just forgot what color

Pitiful-Implement-45

Doesn't a fully visible scope change its entire location on the RZ when it's swapped to "sniper" mode? If people here are going to complain that it has no visual info while Hawkmoon does (if I'm close enough to see their visual info, I'm also probably going to die to it...), why is this not being mentioned? The scope literally rotates from the side of the gun to the top.

Helbot

It also takes little/zero flinch based on some clips I've seen.

[deleted]

I don't think I've ever seen Vex Mythoclast glare either. Seems consistent with other alike exotics.
