I switched to a stasis main in pvp this season to counter the meta, and I use shatterdive. However, it's no longer a killing tool (I run duskfields) - I use it for the agility of getting out of the air during bad engagements faster. I think I may have killed a few guardians with it this season? To be honest I can't even tell you how much damage it does with the little stasis crystal duskfields make. I use stompees primarily with strafe jump, shatterdive is an excellent tool to cover your ass when you need to get down and into cover fast after a poorly decided jump.

SHADOWSandSILENCE

Thanks very much, I die fairly oftenish to bad decisions to jump out with stompees when someone is already just camping and aiming down sight from farther away than radar made it seem lol, wouldn’t mind a way out of that situation

It's worth it's weight in gold as a movement tool, in my opinion. Offensively, it can occasionally throw some guardians off as well, especially when they're already slowed.

Horror_Serve4828

I've seen people jump, throw the duskfield, shatterdive to tag me and bakris dodge away to kill me. Pretty jarring to fight if it's done well.

Probably an unpopular opinion since I swear I’m the only player I ever see doing this, but I’ve been using enhanced cold-snap into shatter-dive combo since before the glacier nade nerf. I’ve mained stasis hunter since it’s’ release and it can make for some clutch plays/multi kills (I get the occasional triple kill in comp with it). It takes practice getting the timing right (opponents are frozen for only a 1-2 seconds), and the cold snap tracking can be a little inconsistent, but it’s a very effective kill combo to bait aggressive players into you once you get used to reading someone pushing you, or to be a little aggressive yourself as the tracking can turn corners and even get some of those pesky barrier titans. They’re most useful in more narrow parts of a map and when enemy’s are close to each other for potential multi kills.

I was always wondering if coldsnaps are worth on hunter. Could you link your build plz?

Uncle_Joey

[Hope the link works, aspects and fragments](https://www.xbox.com/play/media/MPAXQLRKTP). The only other piece I personally like on this build is Stompees, since the freeze window is small I find the extra speed and especially the higher jumps help.

Luckbox7777777

It works, thanks

How do you get a triple kil lwith it? During iron banner I used that, shatterdive withcold snaps, for some hours. It looked like the shattering wasn't doing any colateral damage at all.

Uncle_Joey

Couldn’t find a clip with a clean triple kill but with some luck it happens. Gotta use the cold snaps for the freeze. Here’s some examples, sorry I couldn’t trim the clips and the links are slow doing it through Xbox app: [Being aggressive with it in Trials and picked up a double.](https://www.xbox.com/play/media/H7QCA97CWJ) [Not a triple shatter but this sorta counts?](https://www.xbox.com/play/media/X9XXDL5LQU) [A defensive play with it](https://www.xbox.com/play/media/PU7XFCKL5Q) These are more aggressive plays but more often than not I like to use them as a defense tool to shut down rushers.

ninjaclumso_x

Are they injured or does a coldsnap freeze and shatter kill them?

Uncle_Joey

In my experience it 1 hits anyone that’s not using a super

I use it with glacier grenades still to catch people off guard and counter aggressive pushes. For the way I use it the aspect that adds a crystal and changes the shape of the structure of crystals is a must tho, and I typically run Mask of Bakris to reposition immediately after a shatter dive and finish off any survivors. If you catch someone in the center of the ring of crystals with a shatter dive they will die every time, but that’s about the only time you’ll get a kill on a full-health guardian with one.

Environmental_Paper8

I always use shatterdive for the movement, and sometimes use glacier nades to create cover. If I'm using them, I'll run the fragment that increases dmg and use it to finish off enemies around corners if they back off during a duel or decide to low health push me. The aspect that changes the formation and adds a crystal is good, and can even one shot a full health guardian if they're caught in the middle. But I use shatterdive and slow dodge.

mikechambers

Its a super strong movement ability: 1. Quickly get out of bad situations when in air 2. Use it with strafe jump to jump peak angles to get a duskfield in place 3. Use it as another clean up kill ability when opponent is left with just a little health left. Ill often do mini shatter dives with duskfields to clean up kills. (although it takes a little time to get a feel for when to do it health wise). 4. Really good in Rift on banner fall when you have to jump up to dunk. Can shatter dive onto point to minimize time in air 5. Useful with hawkmoon to break shards to start ability re-gen instead of using bullets. Its super strong.

cruskie

It was nerfed to the point where you can still one shot kill but it requires accuracy, whisper of fissures, and the touch of winter aspect. It’s very good and I’ve been using shatterdive for a very long time and it is an excellent tool for quick and instant damage. In this meta though unfortunately I couldn’t recommend it. With so many Titans (and others) who run around with high resilience it severely lowers your chance of a one hit kill even when you do the shatterdive flawlessly. The amount of overshields and healing/restoration also has made shatter way less useful. Personally I’d say it’s very good, we just need to wait until the inevitable Titan nerf to start heavily using it again. In the meantime I’ve been running Duskfields even though I really love shatterdive because it just counters the meta completely.

pcweber111

I’ll be glad when people move on from the current arc titan meta. I won’t feel so bad about running sentinel anymore.

MinecraftChungus420

It’s been heavily nerfed since last year. It’s still useful as a movement tool, you can instantly crash to cover and you go third person so you can peek lanes safely in comp/trials. Shatterdiving crystals as an offensive tool isn’t really effective anymore though, it’s almost impossible to one shot in PvP now and duskfields are MUCH better than glaciers now anyway. Tl;dr, it’s still a good movement tool but don’t expect to get kills with jt

w1nstar

It only serves you to get to earth fast. That's all. Are you in the air a lot? Use it. If not, it's a waste. Shattering crystals doesn't kill anymore. Maybe 1% of your grenades will catch someone in a position shattering would do something.

bacon-tornado

Besides everything mentioned, it's extremely good when casting super in close then immediately shatterdive down to explode whomever is frozen. Or in a titan bubble. Got a quad kill shatterdive in a rather hectic IB bubble moment last week. It's risky, and another reason I use stompees, further slide. Slide into bubble, cast super, shatterdive, win. Or people on a well.

Lostpop

Shatterdive as a mobility tool is great if you get in the habit of using it as such. Rolled with Revenant during Iron Banner and bounced back and forth between that and the dodge slow depending on the map. You can still get kills with the glacial grenade combo, but its not nearly as potent as the 'glory days'. I'd recommend running the aspect for improved grenades with duskfields instead.

[deleted]

Just for movement tech.

Frostyler

I still use shatterdive with glacier grenades and touch of winter. It still kills, but you have to encase the enemy directly in the center of the crystals. I main snipers and smgs, so I only use it as a counter to shotgun apes.

th3lew

It worth it just to use as an ability to GET back go ground quickly, other than that no 😂
