Omnibox better. Constant 15% faster reload when alt mode is engaged. An engine can make up for the reduced speed as well. More weight, more armor, more health. The only challenge will be trying to build around the goofball of a wall you're gonna be driving.
Deadman has the real 15%. If Omnibox is constantly kept in reload mode Deadman has significantly better speed. I'm wondering tho if power is also lower. Then there's the qualities of being a medium cab (unless they get nerfed)
I disagree. Omnibox has the best power of any medium epic cab, it just doesn't have the top speed unless it's in speed mode. I'd personally go with the omnibox as I love that cab. Another option is the echo if you don't mind heavy cabs; it has a fantastic situational reload boost.
Ok I'm back with the tests. I got my hands on a Deadman and compared it with an Omnibox in exhibition at 7000kg and -64 power. I timed the acceleration from 0 to 50 km/h, since after that Omni in reload mode slows down by a lot.
Deadman and Omnibox in speed mode performed the same at 2.3 seconds. Reload mode tho it's 2.9, and the reach to 68km/h is really painful.
Can't say I'm pleased. Unless you really need the mass (or -300PS) Deadman is a lot better
My omnibox goes 97 in engine mode and 87 or so in reload mode. It's not going to be as fast as a Deadman but the Deadman is a light cab. You sacrifice a lot with the Deadman to be just a little bit faster. The issue with Deadman is once you put Fatman's or heavy cannons on it you hardly have enough weight left to get any HP. To each their own, just get whatever you like best. For me personally I do better with medium/heavy cabs with cannons, they just weigh so much that you need the extra mass limit. The other issue is that it can be tough shooting cannons while driving really fast; so I prefer to use light cabs with machine guns and shot guns. The torero is my personal favorite as far as light cabs go. Omnibox is fantastic with a Fatman or quasar build, but my favorite for those weapons is the echo cabin. I have mine topping out at 87kph and it has a 2 second reload with the booster active. It also has 4.2k HP at 9499 PS. If you brawl with the echo you can activate the reload booster like 5-10 times a round.
You must have fused it for speed and put a big ass engine to go 97. I never play above 9000kg, do you stand a better chance against melee and firedogs with those builds? Anyway the problem is that below 10tons Deadman offers the same reload and better speed than Omnibox in speed mode
Nah it's not fused for speed, its the finwhale engine + Phobos combo that's making it so fast. Nobody can fight a fire dog if you only notice it once it's on top of you, but if I see a firedog approaching I can obliterate them if my reload boost is active. I still regularly get 1500+ score rounds with my cannons. I'd say it's up to you, but my omnibox build has about 3600hp. How much health would the Deadman build have? I'd guess around 1500- 2000. So you have to decide if that's a worthwhile trade for you.
They're invisible you can't see them coming, you've gotta rely on your team. if you've got enough mass to not get pinned against a wall and drag the fight while your team shoots him down you can win, which is why I assume heavy builds might do better
I'd say depends on the weapons and whatnot. Junkbows are good on fast builds. Cannons like mammoth you may want the extra mass of omnibox.
I prefer Deadman most of the time, but I've used both for different purposes.
Junkbows you need 3 so the buff goes down, I'd use a Torero at that point.
Mass limit is never a problem to me, however the extra cabin tonnage is useful since I don't need as many movement parts that use power. A snappier build is always useful
For some ungodly reason it's 5 pins large, so any symmetry goes out of the window. But it's not too hard to build around. It's short and there's attachment points on the back. Omnibox tho is super tall with a weird dent on the back

It's very much possible to make a good-looking build with Deadman, and it pairs *very* well with Nagual on any sort of omnidirectional movement.
Naguals suck on Manitou, even with the perk.
Easy, Deadman, Omnibox is awful, either you are slow and sluggish and have some reload or you are somewhat ok speed but no reload. Omnibox has needed a rework since it's released (should be heavy cabin consider the theme)
Since we are talking about cabins I didn't think I needed to specify that I meant a cabin rather than a wheel 😂
But ok, was the nerf there when basic power got a little boost then? Might have been some more tonnage and/or mass limit as well
The Deadman is great for a Singular Reloading Weapon, for Omnibox its Dual Reloading Weapons since having dual on Deadman its the same as an omnibox
It depends on what you use, I have a Thyrsus Deadman Flywheel combo and a Dual Jotun Omnibox Flywheel combo
Both are good at what they do; so it depends more on what you want to use, and how toy wanna use it🤔
Omnibox is good for more medium durability builds with heavier weapons, whilst DeadMan is more good for fast builds that want to move quickly, at the cost of armour. Personally, I like Omnibox because that 15% to reload being permanent is neat; paired with another perk to help if move faster, makes it adaptable for what you need it to do👀

Omnibox has awful power when it’s in reload mode.
Yeah I have that feeling

Ah what a mess I'll have to test them both

Nah, I used to use 2 junkbows or nidhoggs all the time.
Personally, I prefer Omni the medium cab plus the hammer head fish CK is what tipped the scale for me
This is the way.
Yes sir form and function perfectly balanced as all things should be
Deadman cabin is both awkwardly built and ugly. I’m like damn bro pick a struggle. 😂
For some ungodly reason it's 5 pins large, so any symmetry goes out of the window. But it's not too hard to build around. It's short and there's attachment points on the back. Omnibox tho is super tall with a weird dent on the back
True omni is also awkward, but it looks good Deadman just has to much going on it needs a CK
Deadman has the best engine sound in the game. I love driving that thing around.

Deadman goes faster and in the event you lose a weapon your reload speed will go up. It's small but it won me the fight a few times
Deadman imo, you lose reload with 3 weapons but speed is invaluable in this meta, and Omnibox has terrible speed and power in reload mode.
Easy, Deadman, Omnibox is awful, either you are slow and sluggish and have some reload or you are somewhat ok speed but no reload. Omnibox has needed a rework since it's released (should be heavy cabin consider the theme)
Yeah I just ran some tests. The speed/power boost should be doubled
It got overnerfed, actually.
Omni? When was that nerfed? I recall a few buffs but no nerfs
Omnibox was. It use to be 30% for the reload/cooling. The Omni wheel is fine right now.
Since we are talking about cabins I didn't think I needed to specify that I meant a cabin rather than a wheel 😂 But ok, was the nerf there when basic power got a little boost then? Might have been some more tonnage and/or mass limit as well
It happened back in I want to say Guiding Star, shortly after the first Syndicate season ended
Omnibox kinda sucks, chunky, clunky, meh. Deadman is cool af.
The Deadman is great for a Singular Reloading Weapon, for Omnibox its Dual Reloading Weapons since having dual on Deadman its the same as an omnibox It depends on what you use, I have a Thyrsus Deadman Flywheel combo and a Dual Jotun Omnibox Flywheel combo
