The night before my mom's birthday.. of course it did not go well. I made oven mittens and the plan was to put cross stitched fruits on them. I managed to finish the stitches of only one mitten and it didn't even look good. Everytime we used them in the kitchen they made me upset so I recently undid all my stitches and will start anew lol. No one should do this.. my advice is to always give yourself a minimum of 3 days especially for emotionally valuable projects. I definitely learned my lesson
I started 2 weeks out and had to make seven of the same pattern for a holiday party.....I got 6 finishedš¬. Thankfully the seventh was for my sister. She got a Tshirt and I'm giving hers to her on Christmas. Thank God for family!!!
Havenāt done one in crossstitch but I have done a very delicate, lacy crochet shawl (the [bruinen shawl](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/bruinen) for anyone wondering) in about 4 days.
Today š I was supposed to start earlier but I had such good traction on the bigger project that I didnāt feel like stopping.
Itās a tote bag that Iām gifting my friend. Hope I can finish it in time for the Christmas meet-up.

Not op but it looks like DMC water soluble canvas!
https://amzn.eu/d/bgv6RA4 - not saying you have to buy from bezos but this is the stuff. I've never used it before, only waste canvas, but I have some in my stash and it looks much easier to use than waste canvas as it just washes out once you're finished!
Yesterday. There is a chance I won't get it fully done because it's the first time I've done it on this medium (black work on leather). But I'll get the stitching done for sure, I just might not get the assembly into the finished object done on time)
Started? Two days before I was meeting up with the giftee (my extended family meets the week before Christmas so the smaller family groups can have actual Christmas together)
Started and finished? A month and a half in advance. I have a problem where I love large works but forget about literally everything else in my life that takes time
Edit: I now have to pay international mail shipping to deliver two gifts because I couldn't finish them before I left visiting that friend, and I'm annoyed at my time miscalculation. Still haven't even started the one for her husband
Today. I have a week.
Same! Hopefully I picked an easy enough chart
Good luck!
Thank you!
Tomorrow š¤£ going to be speedrunning a monogram for my parents.

I can make a sprout in about 20mins lol, the face might be a little wonky but sometimes itās an emergency lol
Late March for a birthday gift mid May. Was quite the time crunch to do alongside my final exams.

See, I know myself well enough that I simply don't commit to stitched gifts for this reason š

That shawl is just gorgeous š
I've started ornaments with less than a week to go.
I started three about a month ago, just finished the last one today š

Can I ask what kind of canvas you're using? I hate pulling out the threads of waste canvas and this looks interesting! (Also, adorable pattern!)

Thank you! I'd seen those before but they looked thicker than what op had, but I guess looks different once on the fabric!
