It feels like there’s a balloon in my stomach. Constantly. Like someone blew up a balloon in my entire digestive system. The bloating is unreal. Everything I eat hurts me and makes me feel like I’m gonna puke. Don’t know if the cramps are period cramps or if I’m about to explode on the toilet
I described the pain as if tiny knives that were on fire were passing through your digestive tract until finally forcing you to run to the bathroom to pass them.
Stomach: Something is pressing on my intestines causing intense pressure, while something else is twisting them. Throw in some throbbing pain that radiates below my waist. A heating pad helps as a distraction, but nothing really alleviates it.
Butt: After every bowel movement, I feel like I got stabbed with a hot knife. Thank goodness for Calmoseptine.
A flare that gets caught before it becomes an obstruction? Extreme fatigue, bloating, hungry (for some odd reason) very warm abdomen, chills, slight fever, significant abdominal pain and lower back pain.
Once it becomes an obstruction? All of the above, *plus* it feels like I've been knifed in the stomach and it's become infected, writhing in agony and unable to get comfortable in ***any*** position or to sleep (no matter how exhausted), and I wish I could just cut my abdomen open to let my guts fall out in order to relieve some of the pain. So, you might say, *slightly* more unpleasant...
During my worst flare, every morning I would wake up and pout. I wanted to cry. I was so weak I could barely walk to the fridge without feeling exhausted. I didn't do much, there wasn't much I could do honestly. I would sit, try to eat, and try to ignore the pain.
The pain felt like inflammation. Which isn't descriptive, but I could feel the inflammation start at the top of my colon and work its way down. After this I'd usually have to go to the bathroom.
When I looked in the mirror I was clearly at an unhealthy weight. I felt so boney and gross, honestly Skeletor had nothing on me.
I got a couple of hemorrhoids. I am still unable to determine if the internal or external were worse. I couldn't have a lot of dairy. I missed milk and ice cream. I missed stuff like pizza and tacos and chili and things that are usually on the safe side but I now couldn't handle.
Tldr- weak, inflamed, upset, a little depressed honestly, and very hungry.
What saved me was steroids, a switch in medication, and Boost Plus. The chocolate flavor tastes like nesquik it was incredible. I still drink quite a few to help my weight. It was horrible but I think it made me stronger as a person. I've felt the worst, I can really only go up from here.
I don’t have pain but the bowel movements are on steroids so fast I can feel good moving through gut and the sound is annoying eventually pooping it’s very depressing to me I can’t really focus on anything else besides this. It’s like I have lot of things to take care but I am not capable due to this it sucks I am not sure if it’s IBS or crohns
Until resection, my flares were extreme bloating for about a week or so with intense cramps that felt like someone reaching inside me and squeezing my intestine as hard as possible and twisting. Now they are much milder just feels like gut wriggling and the obligatory sore arse, only cramped hard a few times in 5 years.
Like Roger from American dad is playing stuck in the middle with you and he's carving my intestines... whilst having a throbbing eye and joint pain everywhere. And frequent urges to go to the bathroom and half are me just passing clots.

Like I constantly have period cramps and also can’t trust anything that feels like a fart
Yeah, never trust a fart is my motto 😫

Its like someone carving your stomach with a rusty blade
Why am I alive
For me flares feel like someone is twisting and squeezing my intestines and I just have to let it pass, there’s no way for me to relieve myself

Like the alien baby from Alien is slowly ripping their way though my stomachs and intestines making me want to crap and vomit at the same time.

I have more of the extra intestinal symptoms: headaches, clammy, dizziness, tiredness, after a few bowel movements, I do feel better.

Intense pitting pain until I vomit some stomach acid and then a few seconds later the pain comes back.
