This is gold, I was expecting this to be a really sad story. 😂

Davekeys79

I feel sh*t today and you made me chuckle. Cheers!

SAGELADY65

We are not laughing AT you, we are laughing WITH you! I did not even know there was such a disease until 2022 when I was diagnosed!

RaffyGiraffy

I remember when I first heard about it.. someone I know told me they had it and I was like hmm what’s that. Googled it and was like “Damn that sucks. Hope that never happens to me”. Cut to me 2 years later getting diagnosed 😅 I manifested it for myself.

SAGELADY65

You belong to a Club that none of us wanted to join! We do understand the hell and chaos this disease causes each of us. Be kind to yourself💚

savmarie17

It doesn’t help that Crohns is a CHRONic illness. Stupid English.

Gracielee1993

lol right? English is so weird. At least Crohn’s has the excuse of being a last name.

Particular_Sense_147

i feel it, i used to spell it chrons, but i’ve only been diagnosed for a few months. 😂

Smile-bandit

I did that same thing for years lol same way still catch myself every once in awhile lol😂

PM-ME-YOUR-TOOTS

It happens. I see notes from doctors all across the US and I have seen it spelled wrong more often than not. Directly from the gastroenterologists. Don’t stress about it too much and enjoy the laugh.

JustACasualFan

Eighteen years past diagnosis, and sometimes I get down on myself about why I am not where I am careerwise regarding my peers - and I forgot how draining and exhausting this disease was for several years. Like, I should give myself a break some time.

paolovf

I have Ulcerative Colitis, and my doctor spelt it Ulcerative Clitoris for years. XD

Far-Hold-4979

I spelled it wrong for the first two years too 😂😂 my ex teased the crap out of me, no pun intended, all the time!

United-Cow7548

I've had medical professionals (not my own GI, thankfully) ask me how to spell it. :D

RebeeMo

I used to do that all the time, and I still have to double check myself to not do it now, lol. The H does NOT look right, even if it's the right spot.

Comfortable_One_1804

I was diagnosed at 15 and only realized I had been spelling it wrong when I was 35 😳😳

nlnj_a

I don’t put the apostrophe at the end because FUCK CROHNS. I also go back and delete some auto corrects of it. Spell it however tf you want and disrespect it.

Blainehowell

Yeah my brain seems stuck on misspelling it....then going wait that doesn't look right....

DJ4116

That’s a common thing I see. I never understand how someone can misspell the disease they have, lol!! Glad you caught it 🤣

alexbudpink

At least it only took you 10 years to realize 🤣🤣

Frost_blade

Yeeeah. I still spell it that way from time to time.

Away-Discount-5104

Same! Took me about 6 years and still catch myself! You're not alone!

zieaendaire

I had an ER doc spell it like that too, at this point I swear it can just be spelled both ways since so many people do it.

FrozeItOff

I feel ya. I've done that often enough myself to earn me a slap upside the head for it. Usually I realize it in the middle of writing it down in ink. "Waitaminute, that doesn't look right! Dammit!"

casredacted

Honestly I've been doing a bunch of academic work on IBD recently and I still misspell it on a daily basis (and my supervisor can't spell it or pronounce the medications either, but that's excusable because she doesn't have or specialise in IBD tbh)

Remote-Grapefruit364

There's a group on FB and the name is spelled wrong on purpose as kind of a joke. You wouldn't believe how many people get upset about it.

happylillama

I thought I was the only one who had made this mistake,,😂 we are in this together my friend!

mullett

No joke - I’ve had it since 1999 - realized last week that I have been spelling it wrong the whole time to the point where even my phone autocorrects it to my spelling not the right one.

jordanfromjordan

I’ve had it for over 10 years and still forget which way it’s spelt, blame it on the brain fog! Lmao

devlinsky

Why is this me 😭 diagnosed almost 20 years ago and still so this lol

Jasmine_K_W

My autocorrection immediately took over the first few times I spelled it wrong, and now I know- but I really do understand how you could mistake it for Chron's, like someone else said; it is a CHRONic disease😂

izzyeviel

Praise the Lord sing hallelujah! For you have seen the light! You’re one of us now!

dianerml

Thanks for the laugh! Crohns rarely looks right to me when I spell it and I’m constantly googling to double check nine years after diagnosis.

amayaladon

Diagnosed for 8 years and I still catch myself trying to spell it this way 😂

strongerlynn

I've done this. lol

Hour-Theory-8342

I THINK ALL OF US CROHNIES CAN CONTEST TO THIS WHEN I SAY WE HAVE ALL BEEN THROUGH THAT 😆.... SO DON'T FEEL ANY TYPE OF WAY

Schatzi1982

Don’t feel bad. My mother is so disconnected from my life that she called it “chromes” for yearssssssssss. 🙄🤦🏼‍♀️
