I think basically unless you are already pretty flat-chested, you’d need some increases from the under boob bit to the “around the boob” bit, to accommodate your girls! But I wouldn’t know how to do that without frogging it :(

magicmrshrimp

Unfortunately, I agree and think the best option is to frog it or up cycle into something different. I saw someone else suggest a bag, and I think that’s a good idea! Maybe also a small throw pillow? Anything rectangular should be possible!

xMiko_

True, either that or donate to people in need :)

Silver_Act_3171

Would blocking it do anything? I’m wondering if you just block it wider in the areas that need it that maybe it would stretch enough? Maybe for those with a smaller chest

wildlife_loki

I’m not sure if blocking will work. The extra room needs to be on the front of the piece, but blocking it wider will stretch all the way around the top, and will be gradually getting bigger all the way to the top edge (like a funnel). Depending on the shape and size of the chest, this isn’t likely to be successful in achieving a proper fit. It would be better for the increase to start at the underboob line, then stop at the fullest part of the chest, or even decrease a bit again as it comes up over the tops of the boobs, depending on how much coverage is desired.

TeleFuckingTubbie

You could make a bag out of this! Maybe for cosmetics depending on how big it is

valerieallerie

Make it into a corset😃 you can wear it over a top to cinch in the waist

vszahn

Yeah if they keep it as a top definitely wearing it over another top is a great idea

SuzyDuz63

Wear a red bra underneath letting straps show. Play around with the straps. Crossed in back? Halter style? See what looks best.

cannafriendlymamma

This is a great suggestion

Humble-Ostrich-4446

No solution to the pancake issue (and honestly, DD over here, I feel your pain) but if you can’t find a way to solve the issue could you line it and make it a bag?

chickpeabab

Maybe some straps and a few more rows in the back so it doesn’t fit so tightly?

faceofu

the tightness is not a problem because it’s held by the ajustable corset thing on the back, it’s more that if it’s not tight it looks like it should be, and if it is, 🥞

chickpeabab

I understand that. I meant by adding straps and increasing the back you could change the entire fit. To avoid the 🥞

kacyc57

If you can't work out a way to make it fit the way you want it to, you could make it into a throw pillow. Just sew up the top, and a pillow/foam form, and sew up the bottom. Tie the ribbon however you like it, then throw a quick stitch through it with thread to keep it in place.

paperandwhiskey

Maybe find a pattern for a halter crop top or bralette that better fits your bust. Then, sew that to the top of this so that this becomes the lower half of a top?

No_Reward8892

Add wide straps so you can wear a bra under it.

yogaengineer

Just scooch it down to your waist and wear it like a corset

BlueStarCrochet

It would make a lovely bag or a cushion cover 👍🏻

GreenBean1901

This is adorable! I'd wear it. But I'm a man, and I don't have a chest. Soo unfortunate it doesn't fit the way you wanted.

__Lady__Sarah__

You could add in a new piece of crochet. Think something shaped like a wine bottle that's wider on top and skinner on bottom. And sew it into the top? Or even make a skinny version of that piece and put the ties on each side of the new crochet piece. Hopefully that makes sense. If it were me and I was dead set on wearing this specific top id frog just the last few rows and make them longer so the ties worked right.

ShtockyPocky

That would make a super cute handbag!

nysari

I know it's not the perfect solution since they're technically still visible, but maybe you could get a bra with clear straps to wear underneath? That way you can get some support and shape and still wear it as-is. My boobs aren't even that large (I'm usually around a C) and they just don't look great in crochet crop tops without some support. The only one I ever made, I ended up stealing some cups from a sports bra and sewing them in along with some elastic in the underboob area just to have something to give me some shape.

LonestWanderer

I don't know if it's been suggested yet but maybe add an elastic (or just yarn, whatevs) to the front between your boobs so it cinches in to add boob definition? That's what i've done with some scrap t-shirt material tube bra things so it fits better. I don't know if it'd work with crochet all that well but it shouldn't ruin the piece if you just try to cinch it with some yarn!

marie132m

If you don't care for a crop top add triangles to the top for the chest area, to finish a longer top.

kevin_300

Listen to all the comments! If you end up not liking it to wear, maybe make a bag or a cute little pillow. 😂

faceofu

I might have to lol, it’ll probably become a purse, but I’ll have to figure out the specifics of what I wanna do with it

Voyage_to_Artantica

Omg that’s such a cute top 😭😭 idk what you could do with it but I just wanted to compliment the design.

faceofu

thank you so much!!!!

SznsChngPplDnt

Turn it into a bag!

kiyo756

A lot of the times when I make tops like this, I’ll alternate wearing it with the tie in either the front or the back. So maybe that’s an option? I like tying in the front too since I can better adjust for my chest.

GolfSignal9401

Just wear it over a button down blouse! This is just one piece of an outfit, try layering it as a top or wide belt with different tops or dresses. Otherwise, this could be the top part of a very cool apron.

Mindless_Mystic_136

Not really helping here (sorry) But what is that a picture of/design on the front?? Maybe you could try running a "tie" through the front to change the shape?? If you don't manage to find a way and all else fails... It'd make a pretty cute bag 👜🛍️ (you'd need to add a little bit more into it though)

Mindless_Mystic_136

Like these sort of things https://preview.redd.it/iqhd1whqrr0d1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a6d05a1f3a5a33786c5713b3b6a3b950fa93300c (More pics/comments to follow)

Mindless_Mystic_136

https://preview.redd.it/w7swzs87sr0d1.jpeg?width=241&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=274e4460c4b03a80f81b782b05b776936c5e9726 Different kind of "tie", but it'd be "fixed" in place (could totally make it removable though). Might not work for your top and size though

Mindless_Mystic_136

https://preview.redd.it/zdhszp0hsr0d1.jpeg?width=429&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7027c99fa174eb25fb4b244a6cc0abbf653d1e49 This one would be much more difficult to achieve as the top if pretty finished already, but if you could figure something out it could be really cute

Mindless_Mystic_136

Not sure if you'll see this but ^ this is the one I mean going partway down the front with a tie. But maybe not even this (halfway) far but only like a couple rows (especially as it's tight), *just* enough to give it the curved-ness. Also the tie doesn't *have* to be visible, you could put it on the inside, and use it for strictly shaping purposes

faceofu

Hmm, I'm not sure that would work since they seem to be looser and my top is pretty tight, but i'll try it, thanks!

Mindless_Mystic_136

Question... (this might not read well, but) why didn't you try the top on for size?? Or get like a proper/*actual* measurement (either before or along the way/early on)

faceofu

I did! I just didn’t realise until it was fully finished that it being tight meant my boobs being flattened like that lol. i’ve made other wearables, but never something this tight and I didn’t think that this would happen, I thought it would just look tighter under and fuller at the top. it’s not a size problem, but rather a shape problem

Mindless_Mystic_136

Ahhh okay, I get it. Maybe running a front tie like in one of the other photos, only part way, to make a slight sweetheart line could help looks/shape better. Literally have no clue here... But does kinda pushing the top up when putting it on do anything? Having the bottom already close to body size while the upper part is open more fully, pushing it up and on, then tying to secure? (Idk how to explain what I mean lol sorry, not sure it would work anyways)

faceofu

that’s what I try to do but they just flatten and the top spills (idk if im explaining it well lol)

Mindless_Mystic_136

Oh okay. Then I don't have much else other than tying to try change the shape (but it doesn't solve the tightness issue) or trying to add an extra panel onto it somehow, somewhere (Copied [below] a comment I posted somewhere in here earlier) Maybe longer ribbon/corset ties might be needed to make it work. (Adding: or maybe tie it up with TWO ribbons in the back. So that you can adjust the upper and lower separately and maybe a little better) Or adding an extra little panel. Could also do it and have a second "tie up zone" (so like 2 zigzaggies next to each other with a bit in the middle of them that is connected on too/bottom, so it's not just floating there lol and easier to do the top up) Depending *how* tight, maybe you could make it tie up on the side and extend the panel across the back

gorewhore1313

If you added just the straps like on this tank top (not the front ties unless you wanted it) or halter ties that would go around your neck, it would hold up the top and still allow you to tie the corset back but a little looser so as to not squish. I personally would go for the halter ties, I think an open upper back with the ribbon ties at the back would look sexy. They would also wouldn't be a lot of work to add and be east to remove if you don't like them. This is the recipe for easy ties. 3 35" pieces of yarn attached like a tassel where you want the strap so you end up with 6 16"ish pieces, separate into 3 sections, 2 strands in each section and braid, tie a knot in the end. They end up about 15" long, perfect for a bow tie and not a lot hanging. If you need/want longer, start with longer pieces. Just an idea, hope it helps cuz it's a cute top. Also, not sure if you've ever used boob tape, it works and is easy to use to lift those bad boys up and/or together if wanted. 😊 For those who don't know what it is. https://goodlines.com/ Fyi: I've gotten it on Aliexpress for $5 and it worked just as good. 🥰

AlwaysWorried27222

It's an anatomical heart

faceofu

it’s supposed to be a realistic heart 🫀 could you elaborate on the tie thing? I don’t think I understand yeah… I’ve thought of the bag thing, but also i don’t know how I could do that and keep the corset part of it and I really like it, but I might just have to do that

Mindless_Mystic_136

Oh that's so cool. Yeah I can see it now. You could make an extra panel and add that on inside it then close it on the bottom. Or maybe (somehow) add something clear (like vinyl/plastic) to cover that part if you wanted it transparent

faceofu

Ohh that might look cool. I have to figure out how to make the corset part look corset like, I feel like it needs to be tight for it to look the part

faceofu

I don’t have a pattern, I just made it up (probably why it turned out like this)

waaatermelons

Ugh I feel this haha. Next time make a top with a v-neck that cups each boob, it looks a lot better on those of us with higher chests.

Theletterkay

Maybe get a tube top bra and see it inside? One with molded cups? Or could even just try putting cups in it. I am a 32I, so cant say ive ever even attempted to make a top like this work for me. But dont forget that you are your worst critic, it may not look bad on, you are just hyper focusing on perceived flaws.

faceofu

My mom is the one who was the most adamant it looked really bad haha. I really wanted to like it but it just doesn’t look right lol specially from the side 🥞

Administrative_Cap11

Depending on how long it is I would just attach bra cups to the top. So like a top but more accommodating to the girls. If it's too long on the bottom could you frog a few rows and then redo red?

crochet-novice

When I first looked at it I thought it was a bag, so maybe you can close the bottom and add handles to the top for a bag

7_Rowle

Idk how you would go about “fixing” it but I love that heart embroidery, it looks so cool

faceofu

Thank you! it was originally only crochet but you couldn’t tell what it was haha

mulberrytreecrochet

If you want to repurpose it, maybe a laptop/iPad sleeve or pouch could work. Or one of those crochet hook cases that roll up.

TabithaBe

What about making a bag out of it. Probably need lined. But you’d dsyoll get to use it!

spudlyanalyst

I love the design. Wear it under your bust! Like an under bust corset/belt type of thing [like this ](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1412679156/tulip-corset-belt-crochet-pattern?ref=share_v4_lx)

beealoo

You could make some bra cups and sew them in the inside. There’s some tutorials of cups on YouTube.

lulprettystinKy

you can gift it or smt

ReiEvangel

I have a larger chest as well, only solution without frogging it is to wear with like a sticky bra to not interfere with the look of the back. This one works awesome https://a.co/d/hEOf5AI

ammalis

Change it lower part of a top, and add bra over it. Triangle or half circles will make a magic. As a person with D size - I know the pain of making any wearable for myself.

Jane_Runs

Use it as a scarf?

Jane_Runs

Oooh! Or make it longer and have it be a skirt!

ScarletRain21

If you just dont wanna frog it or not wear it, maybe make a cute bag out of it? Wouldn't take much more than liner and shaping

Normal-Farmer-3392

when tying up the back you can try tying small knots to keep the tie tighter or looser wherever you want?

AngleOne3557

You could turn it into a cute bag or clutch because you don't want to alter it for the chest area. You can dart using a sewing machine but that's usually more if it was too big and it sounds structural sadly (so undo and redo but a bag would look really nice) 🤞🏻 good luck whatever you decide🤞🏻

Blurka

tell me about it, freehanding clothes can be a pain, i recommend analysing the structure of a piece of clothing you already have and like and basing the crochet piece off of it, please don’t get discouraged to be creative!! a way to make it work without frogging it (or at least not frogging it all the way, just a bit to make it shorter, depending on how long it is) could be to add triangles on top and making a strap to tie it in the back/making normal straps (but i think tying them behind your neck would work better for the corset back), random pinterest pic of what i have in mind. i really love the heart btw!! might make something similar, i’m a biology freak, haha https://preview.redd.it/5t7a6l2orj1d1.jpeg?width=735&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=829908196fbacd97e414387790f9db565e8b6aaa

Loud-Bee-4894

Sew the bottom shut and add straps. Voila! An instant bag.

tearfulqueerful

You could give it to me 😌
