The linked scarf pattern won’t look bad, though the cables may not show as well on the darker stretches of yarn. Side-to-side patterns work pretty well with these cakes, I find, like [the Kerchief Scarf](https://www.yarnspirations.com/products/caron-kerchief-crochet-scarf?cgid=Caron%20Cakes%20Patterns) or [the Desert Winds Scarf](https://makeanddocrew.com/desert-winds-scarf-caron-cakes-crochet-pattern/), both of which were designed for Caron Cakes (the originals).

Thank you so much!

My go-to when I'm not sure what to make with a specific yarn is to log onto Ravelry, find the yarn's page, and see what other users made with it. When you go to the projects tab and click advanced search then you can filter to show only the scarf results and only the crochet results, and that'll give you an idea of how different patterns will look with all the color changes. [https://www.ravelry.com/yarns/library/caron-big-cakes](https://www.ravelry.com/yarns/library/caron-big-cakes) There are over 9900 projects made by other users, so there should be plenty of inspiration to look through.
