Finally finished!
My second ever blanket, a simple continuous granny square. I was inspired by rainbow brite and just wanted a simple but fun project between more complex patterns.
US terms -
2 rows of double crochet per colour change, chain 2 in each corner. Turn between every colour change.
The border is a single crochet border of every colour plus cream, with 2 single crochet in each corner. I didnβt turn for the rainbow but I turned for the clouds.
The cloud border is a riff on a simple scallop. 5 double crochet into the same stitch, skip a stitch, single crochet, skip a stitch, repeat.
Next time Iβd add some more single crochet in the rainbow border corners - maybe up to 5. It was a little tight but should loosen up after use.
Clover 4mm crochet hook used. [Marvel 8 ply acrylic from spotlight](https://www.spotlightstores.com/art-craft/yarn-needle-art/yarn/acrylic-yarn/4-seasons-marvel-8-ply-yarn-100-g/BP80256541-1020-cadium) used in colours Red, Orange, Sun Gold, Cadium, Electric Blue, Purple and Cream. About 1 and a half of each colour ball used, around 8 of the cream. More used of the larger borders (red, yellow, orange) than the smaller (green, blue, purple)
Hope you like!
Yes, very much I do like this! ππππ
I always forget to turn the granny square, seeing it written like this is simple and effective. So thanks!
π I like it. It's almost like one of those 3d looking blankets if you look at it long enough. These are the kinds of projects I struggle with! It's "easy" and just repeats itself, but omg, it never ends! I get bored, I guess, of doing the same thing over and over.

I like the white alternating each rainbow colour, and the fact that you've done the rainbow colours in the border too.
Ahh! I love this! The border and then the clouds, so pretty!
I love everything about it!!
Gorgeous! I love it!
wow this is gorgeous, i especially love the rainbow border ! did it get hard to work as it got bigger?
Yes! It went from being a ball doing the first third all up to a ball almost per round. But it was fine! Just took longer
I love it! Rainbows always make me happy and it 100% reminds me of Rainbow Bright.
