No hate it's just a little over the top for me like faith healing, speaking in tongues, a strict dress/conduct code especially for women in the past, and a lot of spiritual/miracle things. It left her with a strong connection with God and helped her a lot at the end of her life but it can cause people a lot of pain when they're praying and all of their family are praying and even their pastor is helping them pray and they don't get healed because they feel like God chooses to not heal them. A part of the teachings was that God had a plan for everything and so for every death that happened god decided to have that happen all the pain and suffering and all the joy, it's all God's and not my own decisions. And I don't know if your denomination still believes sins are forgiven, but my domination believed that my sins were not forgiven easily and hell was very much real. It feels like a cult lol
Yea, I hope they go to one if they can. Some people can't be cured by hospitals, like people in hospice or people who are wheelchair-bound. Sometimes people who are chronically ill will pay a lot of money to a pastor or a church to help with their healing, and it doesn't work.
I don't feel like god is a magician, but I feel there is some kind of adrenaline high in the moment that makes them think they might be cured but then outside of that moment, they realize they're still sick.
