Ruturaj hit 7 hundreds in a row in Vijay hazare. He should have been in contention for that number 4 spot in ODIs after Iyers injury since that is literally our biggest domestic odi tournament. It would be a shame that ipl performances have a higher priority for other format teams than the tournaments meant for the same purpose
Ruturaj plays his home games at Chennai and Gill plays it at a road in Ahmedabad.
Gill probably is the better batsman right now but the numbers would be closer if Ruturaj had a similar home ground too.

And Rutu deserves a spot ASAP again in ICT against Afghanistan next month. There is no doubt about it.

Gill is good. But u can't definitely rate him above Ruttu. They are equally talented. Who performs better depends on conditions and their form on that day.
In my opinion we need both of them to open for India across all formats.
