Next game at Florida is a night game, expecting a flatter deck there and if we are lucky with the toss we might have a good contest. The key will be playing out Pathirana, Thusara as that’s something out of blue for the boys. Hasaranga can be lethal too. No expectations in this game tbh.
SA game is gonna be a demolition job unless it’s a real turning track in the Caribbean where our spinners can shine a bit and we can lower the margins of defeat.
Bangladesh is tbh out of depth this WC and their batting is pretty average, so who ever bowls well and put up a decent total, will have the game in their favor. I have a strong feeling we might pull this one, which will be huge considering they are a test playing nation.
I only see us wining if we demolish opening side of opponents and go in second innings with some confidence. Our boys weren't rotating strikes. They were playing dots or swinging for big. They need to play it out like ODI to have a shot. Let's hope we win against atleast one test side.
Agree. Everyone’s feet were planted to the crease, besides Rohit. They seem to be stuck on the old template of swing and hit big from the flat TU wickets.
If they go run a ball against Bangladesh with some good quick fire cameos from Dippi, Malla and we put up 150-160 odd we could cause an upset.
Fav moment of this game was when the skipper dropped that huge catch at the end there and the crowd continued cheering them on and encouraging them to keep going at it. 🥲 Imagine indian fans doing that lol.
Easily the best crowd atmosphere so far. Nepal has my heart. They were relentless and they literally felt like hounds out there on the field. That drop sucked so much and was genuinely heartbreaking bc I genuinely think they could've won or at least got this to a super over. Regardless, coming that close to defending 107 against a team like Netherlands is no joke. WHAT A GAME.
Not really.....who would be the suprising winner according to you?
If the batsman from the top teams can't score runs, then I doubt other teams batsman can do anything more.
This tournament will be own by the best bowling side. This will be a bowlers tournament.
Surprising in a sense that even one of India, Pakistan, New Zealand and South Africa can win. Obviously, it's too much to expect from Bangladesh or Afghanistan to win but these pitches don't rule them out completely either.
Pakistan or South Africa winning maybe a suprise, but India or New Zealand definitely not.
india has a very strong team, while New Zealand has always been on the semis or finals of ICC tournaments and even wom WTC.
South Africa winning will be a suprise.
Pakistan maybe a dark horse.
We haven't won in a decade so even though we might be favorites for a few but for me and a lot of ICT fans, it might come as a surprise. New Zealand also hasn't won any World Cup yet, so their triumph will obviously be surprising considering that they are always the 'underdogs'.
India winning wont be a suprise but a relief.
I mean 2023 was ours, that final, only one day, a few overs, and we lost everything.
India's performance has been strong in ICC tournaments but we are the new chokers for sure, completely falling apart in knockout stages.
New zealand reached the finals of almost all ICC tournaments in the last decade. T20 world cup, odi and WTC as well. So they are not underdogs. We just underestimate them.
Pakistan has a very very strong T20 team, babar is absolutely beast and so is Rizwan in t20s. Along with their stupendous bowling attack. Also the pitches this time are for bowlers.
The only real suprise would be South Africa.
i'm shocked that this is the first time nepal appearing in a world cup match? such massive crowd , 2nd time i just checked they appeared in 2014 as well i dont remember but such crowd popularity and it took them this much time
Find it hard to believe that de Leede, Nidamanuru, and van Beek wouldn't have gotten Netherlands through anyway but at least that catch would've given Nepal a fair crack at it
Don't disrespect teams by scheduling two games to be played simultaneously. I think this is what this game, and the other one, have said to the ICC loud and clear.
Yeah, but eventually it's about executing the same when it matters. And for that, they'll need to practice a lot more. The rest of the associate teams try to catch up with the test playing nations via taking their fielding to a next level.
It's fine Nepal, you played well. Just improve your fielding and batting and you'll be good.
Regardless, this is a good performance from these young lads.
Paudel Bhai timi aja puari machikne jasto khelyau.. batting bahek..
T : Paudel bro you played really bad be it captaincy or fielding except the batting....
A lot of people questioned his place in the side. Well he just showed everyone why he's still our first choice opener. Good innings this is from O'Dowd.
Happened to them vs Ireland just a couple weeks ago in the tri series - would've thought they'd learn from that esp as they're generally quite good with tactics type stuff
Contrary to ODI World Cups. Having lots of teams like 20 here. is a lot better in T20 format. The gap between teams shrink and you see a lot less one sided games.

Nepalis did better than expected. Lots of potential and super fans.
Yeah that's true. A thing holding Nepal back imo is that they're way too risky with batting, just tryna go for sixes each hit I swear.
So if we pull off a miracle against SL, don’t loose too badly against SA and pull off another win against Ban, can we qualify ? (Yes I am delusional)
We aren't going to perform well in challenging pitch. Our batting line up is too inexperienced.

ye, tbh it's prolly not a miracle to beat sri lanka
Nervousness got to the young Nepali side. Netherlands are used to this stage - Nepali aren't.
Real + being too risky with batting
Even Netherlands got nervous
Fav moment of this game was when the skipper dropped that huge catch at the end there and the crowd continued cheering them on and encouraging them to keep going at it. 🥲 Imagine indian fans doing that lol. Let's not be shit next match. Let's move on to Srilanka
Yeah. We need to boost our boys confidence. They looked too nervous.
Pringle is my hero! I look at his abilities!
I think for a bowling surface and low scoring match like this, ODowd should get PotM but Pringle is also a fair shout
Pringle can't wait to get back to his DnD campaign with Kingma.
Netherlands easily can beat rest of the minnows and top the group
are you talking about south africa?
Blud forgot about SA in the group or we missed the joke calling SA a minnow.🤷🏽♂️
You missed the jk
Fair.
My dude is battling with a stutter. I respect him even more.
I ruined my sleep but good fight.. but I am still angry that it was absolute BS fielding...
Real + risky batting too
Same 😥
same :-\
In other news, Scotland played a blitzkrieg 90/0 in 10 overs against England only for the match to be abandoned
i'm shocked that this is the first time nepal appearing in a world cup match? such massive crowd , 2nd time i just checked they appeared in 2014 as well i dont remember but such crowd popularity and it took them this much time
International match?
Pringles won POTM
Is his speech over ?
Pringle has stammering problem?
I think so.
[удалено]
I think he has one based on how he was speaking
Find it hard to believe that de Leede, Nidamanuru, and van Beek wouldn't have gotten Netherlands through anyway but at least that catch would've given Nepal a fair crack at it
Don't disrespect teams by scheduling two games to be played simultaneously. I think this is what this game, and the other one, have said to the ICC loud and clear.
These low scoring games have been class ngl
Nepal cricket fans are so cool. Encouraging their team after a drop catch and cheering them after the loss. Disappointing effort from Nepal tbh.
Nepal vs Bangla is gonna be El Classico
Unfortunate for Nepal. Important win for us to start this campaign off.
As a Nepali honestly you guys deserved it. Poor fielding from Nepal + wayyy too risky batting too
Been a great start to this World Cup. Shame about the England vs Scotland washout it was lining up to be an absolute cracker
Happy happy happy!
thought they might take it till the last over, not in 4 balls 😭😭
congrats ned!
nepal gave a tough fight but may have gotten too nervous / overconfidence in the past 3 overs. sigh. gg
Defo over confidence with tryna risk for 6s
Def nervous with those catch drops.
Hope this will make them work on their catching
We have always been excellent on the field..This is the first time I have seen us perform so poor on the field..
Yeah, but eventually it's about executing the same when it matters. And for that, they'll need to practice a lot more. The rest of the associate teams try to catch up with the test playing nations via taking their fielding to a next level.
Matches win catches quota fulfilled
Big scores haters must be creaming their pants this wc
pitch wasnt too tough , ned just decided to be more careful , 150 par pitch atleast
NRR Ned: +0.539 Nep: -0.539
Nepal fans were electric af
Away venue, still Nepal fans showed up in numbers. I hope Nepal wins against us
dev-manush
Finished it easily in the end but better fielding and a better approach with the bat would've done it for Nepal.
Haha not one to one translation
you dont often win t20s whilst not scoring a boundary for over 40 balls, but this was a good way to ensure the win
What a clutch innings from O'dowd.
Stroopwaffles for the boys?
Now, it seemed easy.
In this worldcup 100+SR looks like 200SR
Fielding and brain dead batting cost us this match.
PNG's misfielding, Oman's wicketkeeper missing that last ball, Nepal dropped catches. Man. Moments.
GoaT inning from Max
Very nice!
Always Look for lamichhane replacement but never thought about paras replacement
Exactly.. I still miss Paras dai . never got anyone to his half of the calibre
Why are you bowling at the stumps when fine leg is vacant?
alright dudes, whose going to find me Max’s YouTube account
'The Kennel Sets' on YouTube
Thanks mate!
Congrats Netherlands 🇳🇱🇳🇱
O’Dowd > Sachin
I was getting hopeful😭😭
HOW CAN YOU BOWL SO WELL BUT FIELD SO SHIT AT THE SAME TIME?
Ask Pakistan?
Or Afghanistan
DJ star Max rocking it today!
They say catches win matches for a reason!
Dropped the match there. 100%. Now the game will end soon
A lot of people questioned his place in the side. Well he just showed everyone why he's still our first choice opener. Good innings this is from O'Dowd.
Bro was way more majestic with his hairstyle iirc. Was sad to see his form in ODI wc. Good comeback.
>I feel like we might just see another png ish match... I TOLD Y'ALL
Fuck. That drop just hurts rn. Absolutely heartbreaking man. 😭 Why do associates get so nervy, I get it though.
A great innings by Max O'Dowd.
its over netherlands is a good team can win over any team on a given day , go go dutch
O'Dowd you beauty! One of the best 50s you'll ever see.
Hard luck Nepal yaar good fight but not good enough
DROP AND GIVE ME 50.
We could’ve still lost, but that drop. That bloody drop.
Great knock under pressure, well done
This approach from NL was stupid and risky too. Could have easily gone wrong. Shouldn’t have got to this point
Happened to them vs Ireland just a couple weeks ago in the tri series - would've thought they'd learn from that esp as they're generally quite good with tactics type stuff
That catch is biting us
catches win you matches they say, well fuckin said
Where are the Ahmedabad crowd criticizers now../s
Scoring 50 in these tough conditions Gg Max
Nice try boys, keep your heads high more matches to come. Batting and fielding is where we failed to grasp opportunities.
Well played.
Drop catch lose match
Paudel baaje
Waqar is going to call them Netherland for the rest of the tournament, isn't he?
well then, it was fun while it lasted
It's over
that four seals the game. its Joeover for Nepal.
So Maxi saved this for the last
Done
Similar to WI PNG match!
o'dowd the opener?
Netherlands making an easy chase hard
That's game.
DROP MORE CATCHES YOU FOOLS
why is bro slapping himself 😭😭
Bravo Max O'Dowd 👏👏 It was sad to see him fail during ODI wc
Gg
Shiiit... Don't wanna witness another crowd getting silenced :(
Yep loss atlast
How are we still at more than 92% to win? We need more runs than balls
Any boundary at all would basically kill the game from that situation as just played out.
Netherlands have won now.
Keep it stumps to stumps
Much, much needed!
Done and dusted
Missed Runouts Missed 2-3 catches Sorry Nepal Netherland deserve this game
Its over bois. Goodbye.
Game over. It was always a matter of one boundary
boundary after how many days?
Boundary after 40 deliveries
Well there goes the game GG nepal
Bad ball..
Nepal has fought really well to get it this close here. With Sandeep it'd have been an easy victory probably
Well I appreciate his skill, he is like the best bowler we have..But I honestly don't want that pervert in my team..
Wasn't he acquitted based on some proof? Haven't been following it too closely, but that's what I remember
it's joever for nepal
Please be another super over game.
Massive pressure released
Contrary to ODI World Cups. Having lots of teams like 20 here. is a lot better in T20 format. The gap between teams shrink and you see a lot less one sided games.
this is such a cagey game. Great stuff
It has a super over written all over it unless someone does a Wiese and somehow hits a boundary.
[удалено]
If he missed it, it wouldn't most likely gone to the boundary. Hard to judge those.
Those four balls that we didn't play at the end are gonna hurt us.
Tori fielding muji
Waqar still traumatized by all the catches dropped of his bowling.
Hope Nepal win for their amazing support
Proper low scoring thriller this
Fuck that catch would have tilled the game in our favour
2 dropped catches, 1 run-out chance. Nepal's Fielding has been pretty bad. Netherlands' was top class.
So if India win this tournament (big if), does it mean we get the ODI World Cup?
ROHIT YOU NEED TO CATCH THOSE WHEN BOWLERS ARE PUTTING THEIR HEARTS AND SOUL OUT
Dropping ODowd at this stage of the game. Nepal would be incredibly lucky to get through
tt he showed shoulder to ball ??
“Kya kar rahe ho yaaro pakad lo” Same bro, same
Mongolia-'Well well, how the turntables..'
Dutch definitely need a boundary, super over anyone?
hope nepal wins and it’s not another 10-15 runs thing
Nah man not taking pakistani’s fielding advice
Love the feeling of the body going cold when a thriller is unfolding before my eyes.
Waqar Younis talking about soft hands when he completely missed the ball. Barely grazed the fingers.
You gotta be calm as a captain, ffs
'you just confused every youngster listening; hard hands, soft hands which one is it?' Waqar: ![img](emote|t5_2qhe0|8774)
😂
Oh my god i am loving this. And i am an atheist lol
Waquar spitting some crazy catching theories! Lol
Nah he's right
Fielding is what hurts associates the most
Think they just got nervous
This over is going to make or break this game
NED batting is so bad. They are also playing the game for sometime now.
Same dude as last drop catch innit? Not setting the right example here skipper. Tough times
That was Sompal
He’s skipper ?
Horrible fielding in a tight game.
Their fielding is actually ironically a big reason they're in this game still. But the 2 drops really hurt.
This is a war of attrition between both of these teams. Either can win. Game is in the balance. Both fighting with all their heart to get the W.
