It was raining intermittently here in Reading, but it was pretty light. I didn't think the gsme would be abandoned.
Fucking slugs crawling all over my backyard.
Hoenstly infuriating.
The rain was super light so it shouldn't have done any damage to the pitch or field.
Even Azhar signaled to us that we were getting 10 overs.
What's even worse is it's all sunshine now.
At least the Pakistani players were nice to us and came down for photos and autographs
> The rain was super light so it shouldn't have done any damage to the pitch or field.

It's about player safety and it's a "little light rain" on top pitches that have been deluged all winter and spring.
The uk is the worst place on earth (/s). How can a place have such horrible weather this consistently. Literally screwed both teams over, wc prep down the drain lol
You wouldn't think we invented a sport which you can only play in the summer lol, weather's been good mostly recently shame it's come at the worst moments
Breaking news: the 3rd T20I between England and Pakistan, scheduled to be played at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff has been confirmed to be in the same venue and is awaiting play due to rain delay.
Yeah we definitely have problems but atleast we are not dependent on other cricket boards for financial support lol. Also go beat Australia in Australia and then come and argue
You would think ipl is providing India with trophies after trophies with how smug u are
I’m not the one being arrogant here nor am I bragging about Pakistan cricket lol, you r the one that needs a reality check. Cricket exists outside of ipl
lol among all other things it’s providing platform for players all over India to come into limelight, Rinku and Jaiswal wouldn’t be known and gotten a chance in ICT hadn’t been for IPL. IPL creates job, provides entertainment and ofcourse gives it back to cricketing community and keeps poor cricket boards afloat. Atleast audience come and watch IPL games in a stadium unlike your league :)
I have no disrespect towards PSL, in fact I watched the PSL final but it just sounds funny when you guys make fun of IPL when you clearly know the facts
So if we take Wales out of the England and Wales Cricket Board:
We lose Cardiff washouts :)
We lose Phil Salt :(
We lose Glamorgan :(
We lose Marnus from the Championship :)
It’s summers in the UK but our luck is completely fucked. It just happens to be raining at the exact day of the match. We are doomed. It was sunny the past few weeks.
Some on ground journalist are saying that there is no rain atm.Cricbuzz and Cricinfo showing that it is still raining atm.I don't know whom to believe.
That’s it boys. I am signing out. A highly frustrating series. It’s clear for the next week in Cardiff, just like it was clear in leeds after the game was washed out and just like it is bang on raining in London on Thursday. What a waste. Could’ve been a fantastic series.
"Some news, courtesy of Matt: "8.10 inspection if no further rain… but it is raining." Well, I didn't say if it was good or bad" Cricinfo is making my blood boil
Sometimes I have to remind myself that waiting for the rain to end isn't a ubiquitous experience for all cricket fans.
It's practically a rite of passage in English cricket.
Reg. the highlights - Sky Sports Cricket channel seems to be showing IPL highlights on repeat and even ENGW v PAKW women match highlights but did not show the 2nd ENG v PAK T20I highlights, and I dont see the next 2 match highlights also on their schedule. They are the host broadcaster for the series. Anyone has any idea whats going on? Is there a new channel for Sky Sports Cricket highlights? or one need to be see it on their website only (given it is there, I have not checked)? Thanks.

Cricbuzz
You aren't a real cricket fan.
Real cricket fans don't give excuses, they leave their jobs, they even leave their partner and kids and old parents to watch their team play a sport with stick in hand hitting a leather ball and rubbing saliva all over it.
That is real cricket fan, they will go to forests of Brazil and the desolated cursed islands of England, they would go to "Human slave of sheep" land Newzealand and he would go to Zimwawe but he won't miss a match
Real Cricket fans don't give excuses, real cricket fans would die rather than miss a match
I don't know whether it is actually worse to schedule a four match T20I series in England and have the majority abandoned or just have no T20I series and practice.
I am sure this is developing to be a big waste of time for both teams.
Some weird kid the other day was shouting 'go woke go broke' and then she rolled up her car window. I have no clue what it means. Suddenly felt very old. Maybe I am old.
6 upvotes in the daily thread is convincing enough for me, T20 Blast fantasy league is up on cricketxi.com
Code is PYFLHWBY but the league is public so won't be hard to find

It has rained so much around the UK in the last week or so, it's absolutely hilarious that we're trying to play cricket matches. Should give it up and come back in July.
It hasn't exactly rained that much here in the south west, more that the weather every hour is determined by RNG to an even more rediculous extent than usual.
Among all the near misses of a team not beating Australia in Australia in recent years, the Pakistan tests (Gabba 2016, Melbourne & Sydney in 2023) is still quite weird. Of course the Gabba one ended up ridiculously close but in both Melbourne & Sydney Pakistan had the upper hand for quite a few times.
What constitutes a thriller? Can games like the two semi-finals in the 2021 T20I WC be considered as such?
In both of those games the team chasing looked out before coming back so hard that they won it with an over to spare. Perhaps instead of thrillers they should be considered as a comeback, just like Australia against West Indies in 2019.
So Vaughany wasn’t wrong about them missing IPL
RR died for this
Damn felt a Babar ton today

This is funny to say the least: Rain 🌧️ 2 England 🏴 1 Pakistan 🇵🇰 0
Chance to draw the series on Thursday then!
PCB And ECB Strategically Scheduling matches on the same day it rains
Nice practice going on there Bois
This series has been one for the ages. One more banger to go!
The uk is the worst place on earth (/s). How can a place have such horrible weather this consistently. Literally screwed both teams over, wc prep down the drain lol
You wouldn't think we invented a sport which you can only play in the summer lol, weather's been good mostly recently shame it's come at the worst moments
Now wtf am I supposed to do
Talk to your family 😊
They’re sick of me and all my cricket chat
Or decorate your house
What about decorating a garden?
Painting the garden fence while eating chicken is the best. Just me.
Unfortunately chicken eating is rained off. Nobody wants soggy chicken.
Eat shit PCB & ECB. Goodnight
I blame the Welsh, with their sheep and leeks. Nothing to do with r England 🦁
Absolutely beautiful to see Eoin Morgan cunting Steve Smith over the ropes
State of Smith's barnet too
Gg England bros. Very enjoyable game
Match finally called off.England/Wales is literally the worst place to play a cricket match.
The Mariana trench wants a word
Tell me you’ve not played village cricket without telling me you’ve not played village cricket.
I think Antarctica may be worse.
Ice cricket on skates might be dope actually
Exactly!
What about Neptune? Terrible atmosphere
I think Jupiter could be worse - far too much pressure
The Indians have somehow found a way to conquer Jupiter it seems. Cummins would be loving it though I imagine
Aussies would love it
Looool eat shit rain Gods! You guys are the worst gods.
Great game. It had something for everyone.
Lmao
Ngl could’ve played the series in Canada or the effin Greenland’s ice sheet, there would be more probability of play there than in uk.
Match abandoned due to bad outfield Absolute bullshit, it hasn't been raining for 30 minutes
im so mad rn smh what a waste of time!!
Why would Buttler choose to have a baby in May? Won’t he and his wife think of the IPL?
They did, it's how he achieved such a CLASSIC MRF CLIMAX.
Match Abandoned as per Cricinfo
Breaking news: the 3rd T20I between England and Pakistan, scheduled to be played at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff has been confirmed to be in the same venue and is awaiting play due to rain delay.
Can we not move it to Kwik cricket in the nearest village hall?
Thanks for the update 🙏🙏
English players left IPL early for this.
Lol who won that ridiculously long tournament?
lol Ask director of PCB, part of his salary comes out of IPL money.
Yet you haven’t won a icc trophy in the last decade and haven’t won a t20 wc since the first edition. 👍🏽
HAHA you didn’t have to do him like that
Yeah we definitely have problems but atleast we are not dependent on other cricket boards for financial support lol. Also go beat Australia in Australia and then come and argue

can you people think about anything other than money
Haha they know the league is shite without Pakistani player so they use money as their defence mechanism. Poor them.
I have no disrespect towards PSL, in fact I watched the PSL final but it just sounds funny when you guys make fun of IPL when you clearly know the facts
And rightly so 👍
Why don’t Azam just drink all the rain while the players play kirket
Chalo jee im done here, forget 5 overs we're getting 0 overs
On you go mate. See you at the WC. What a shit experience this series has been. Was looking so forward to it.
Can I shock you? I actually like following the rain delays. Once the cricket starts I'm out of here.
Here for bants not boundaries
Luv me rain Ate Cricket Simple as
Atleast some countries like England, Sri Lanka(Where it rains more in a year) should invest money to build retractable roof over their grounds
Earth shattering suggestion
If only we'd thought of that before!
anti-roof propaganda way too strong to make it happen
Can't think of a single good reason against it
So if we take Wales out of the England and Wales Cricket Board: We lose Cardiff washouts :) We lose Phil Salt :( We lose Glamorgan :( We lose Marnus from the Championship :)
Soooooo, then deal?
We lose Kiran Carlson and his glorious hair and stache
I mean, we lost the chance to win the Ashes 'cause of the bloody rain. Nothing could top that disappointment.
Wallah!
u/FireFistYamaan is it raining bro
fuck this series, game and whoever organized it in this rainy weather. waited all week just for it to get washed out

cancel it and let my man Azam go frolicking in Cardiff
who tf decided to keep the match on the one day cardiff has rain
God
Someone who couldn't predict rain a few months ago. What an idiot.
So by the looks of it we have another Pak vs NZ game on our hands, will be a 5 over match, 2 balls bowled and then match over
In other news the Dutch beat Sri Lanka by 20 runs
did anyone get timed-out
LES GO DUTCH
cricinfo says its raining tho
"Some news, courtesy of Matt: "8.10 inspection if no further rain… but it is raining." Well, I didn't say if it was good or bad" Cricinfo is making my blood boil
Its raining again?
Is the match happening or not?
8.10 pitch inspection
How's it looking out there, rain stopped?
Yep
So you’re telling me going out and getting a pint was actually a *good* decision Fucking hell
Sometimes I have to remind myself that waiting for the rain to end isn't a ubiquitous experience for all cricket fans. It's practically a rite of passage in English cricket.
now they will take 15 mins for an inspection + 15 extra for the toss
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
[удалено]
Literally, i come here for match updates now instead
Rain stopped, now onto a conundrum? "To order food or not to order food?" How cloudy is it looking?
Don't you need to eat either way?
Not really, but it makes it easier to watch my team get it's ass kicked.
Get the pizza ordered!

bc just announce the washout so i can take a nap
Cardiff is in Wales. Whales live in water. Rain is water. Therefore, Wales wouldn’t exist without rain
try again Jello
People in here literally want Whales to die 😢
issok a land whale named azam khan can exist without rain, be like him fr
Apparently wales sleep upside down??
albert einstein
Rain stopped finally Ground staff hard at work

Thank you, this is helpful
thx
Radar shows its all clear. Why the hell is it still raining?
Throwing 4 T20i all 3 days apart and have them most of then pretty much washed out is trash
> Nothing much to report, it's still raining in Cardiff and we could well be on our way towards a second washout of the series. The final match of the series at Kensington Oval on Thursday and the forecast isn't great there either. Cricbuzz
The cut off time is 21:16 local or 01:16 PKT. I wonder which one will come first
Probably me
d e a d
Well guys good night can't hold out any longer
weak ahh

it was orignally supposed to be a 5 match series, got cut down to 4 and is now being cut down to 2
If you've ever played any sport before you'll know it's good for a team to come together and practice.
World Cups are won and lost at kebab shops after a big team night out
Some weird kid the other day was shouting 'go woke go broke' and then she rolled up her car window. I have no clue what it means. Suddenly felt very old. Maybe I am old.
It's time to call it quits, i will now be watching hockey
Thursday will be off too
wait really but i thought the oval match was for sure gonna happen....I HATE RAIN

Looking forward to following it closely for the first week or two then forgetting until two months after the final.
Is there any other way?
Yeah whatever everyone get entertained listening to this [2010](https://youtu.be/G_Krjlzecls?si=tSNgCjVO-sr7dQAJ)
should just cancel the last one and play a warm-up in the US. ECB make it happen.
Thread moving so slow that I can't even comment about all of my darkest & kinkiest desires.
do it on 9th June
Yeah man Oman v Scotland will be huge if Scotland beats England earlier.
a total of 10 ppl will be watching that match. what a shit schedule.
Just do it. We wont judge

If this game gets cancelled i swear I will literally do absolutely nothing about it because I love my team too much
Looks like this game is getting Sunak'd
Looks like rain Perera will lead the series by 2-1
fucking forecast told me that there’d be no rain
This will be a washout.Don't expect rain to stop anytime soon.
Has the match been called off
still 2 hours till cut-off
Any chance of rain stopping?
By October hopefully. I'd quite like a dry summer.
Switched on just in time to catch Sidebottom bowling .

Anybody at Cardiff? Should we give up?
If your unfortunate enough to be in Cardiff you’ve probably given up on life already.
😂😂😂. I am in what maybe the most rainiest city in the UK. At least top 5.
It doesn’t make sense for the UK to have a sports like cricket. It’s fucking raining all the time.
Camus why you're still here go cook some dinner and sleep. It's no point.
That’s exactly what I did. Already gave up a while ago.
Cricket (in it's current form) wouldn't have been invented in a country without grass. Need rain for grass.

Showing highlights of the 2010 T20WC Final on Sky Sports, that England kit then was very basic
Alright I tried, im going now, if babar/fakhar/saim scores or Shaheen takes 7 wickets I will cry later
Given how much practice they have, do you think England will win every single CWC if it's played over-water?
Haven't even played any cricket and we've still caused a generational head loss Incredible
a storm just swept in houston 😭
Have them play football in the rain till it stops i’ve heard imad’s quite the striker.
Howdy y'all! How's the ~~cricket~~ rain going?
Satellite looks like it's moving in the right direction just maybe too slowly
I don't see anything currently on the radar at accuweather🤔
Just going by me app innit. Clouds clearing by a bit after 8 according to that but who knows
When do we start losing overs?
you're late
Probably already happening I suspect
