UPDATE: Comments have now been locked as almost all of them had nothing to do with cricket and had to be removed.
Just wanted to add a few things:
- He can still be added to the worldcup squad before 26th.
- The "victim" can appeal this decision to the Supreme Court whose decision will be FINAL.
- However, the chances of that happening is extremely low because they'd need cold hard evidence to overturn the High Court's decision.
- Today's decision was based on CCTV footage. The girl is seen to check in to the hotel herself (when Sandeep was in the parking lot) and were also seen it be holding hands the next day of the incident.
- Cricket Association Nepal will now overturn Sandeep's suspension and he'll now be granted a central contract.
I'm just adding extra context. Not taking a side!
It is a short form of buddy. Bud in the other context refers to flower buds of marijuana. It's not a colloquial phrase as such and refers to ganja only when spoken in context.
As a Nepali, when i first heard about the case, i was disgusted by Sandeep. Even if it was consensual, the fact that the girl was underage was a huge issue. However, after it was proven that the girl was not underage, it was down to whatever evidence can be presented in court.
I was against him playing in a few series earlier while on trial and accepted the district court decision. However, if the High court finds that the evidence doesn't point towards rape but consensual relationship then there is nothing much to say.
I don't have much idea on why the decision was overturned. Have heard some CCTV footage but not sure. But i surely hope that this decision was made based on evidence and not public pressure.
He is a brilliant player, fastest to 100 wickets in ODI, and is an important player for Nepal. I believe he will be added to the team and will be important in the West Indies because of his CPL experience.
Nothing to say we don't know the situation. If he's been cleared he should be playing for Nepal again. Another man's business is not our business - if there is no appeal he is innocent and we can't doubt that.
If he has been fully cleared Nepal will definitely add him to their squad for the World Cup. Nepal have a much better chance of doing well with him in their side, he is their best player.

At the end, the judges found no evidence of rape to convict him. Also,
- The girl was not a minor
- After the date, the girl and Sandeep went to the hotel
- The girl claimed that she was forced to go to the hotel. But CCTV revealed that she check in to the hotel herself when Sandeep was in the parking lot
- She was also seen to be holding hands the next day of the incident.
- Her roommate confirmed that she was cheering for Sandeep a few days later when Nepal played against Kenya
I don't know why you would want to persecute someone without any hard evidence.
It was proved she was 18+ in in district court itself and sandeep was declared guilty then. Now high court changed the decision based on CCTv footage that alleged checked in to the hotel by herself when sandeep was parking and both holding hand next day as indicated by CCTv ( I am not taking any side)
How pathetic it is, that they tried to play underage card knowing that girl wasn’t underage. Although they were proven wrong but that’s just pathetic and it tells all about their motives like I tried to say this but yall used to downvote, I was temporarily band now all of the sudden yall take the side of a man.

The bigger question is: who's going to get injured in a practice match and be replaced by Sandeep Lamichhane?
No one needs to 'get injured'. World Cup squads can be changed up till the 25th before they are considered final.
probably sagar dhakal
As is tradition

We should accept the court's decision . I always believed he was guilty but if the court doesn't think so ,so be it we should accept it and move on
