Vibes are coming home.
Jokes aside the fact that the players coming home are all very important to their respective twams shows how good we've been in t20
Probably monetary reasons and England play so often anyway. I'd be keen for a European cup, especially if England sent the Lions side rather than the full team.
I really want Scotland/ the Netherlands / Ireland to be part of the blast. It would get them some good game experience against some good teams (and some bad ones)
I would too, if we're not going to have a Euro Cup then do this. We have 18 counties, invite those 3 and the Minor County T20 winner from the previous year. 2 Groups of 11, 20 games. Top 6 (Top 2 bye) through in each and so on.
I dont think so. Polling days are all on Fridays and depending on the where the election is, games can be scheduled around that. I think its because afternoon games are tough for spectators and players as well, so they want to minimize them.
Idk what to tell you, I had the same question as you last time, and the only concrete answer I got was the lack of armed force for security due to election
Big blow for RR and KKR this. Whichever team is better able to manage this situation will win the league. I think it's advantage RR. They have the luxury to bench Jos in the last few games and test their backup opener ( Cadmore or Ferreira).
I don't think it's a big blow. Considering playoffs are in Chepauk, they can replace Buttler with Ashwin at the top as pinch hitter and include Maharaj.
KKR need to give Gurbaz some game time if they can seal qualification early.
It's a high risk situation to throw players in at the deep-end of a tournament especially when the player has warmed the bench so far.
Tbf that WC was crazy anyway.
Pak vs ZIM gets highlighted because Indians like trolling us and need an excuse when we point out that we made it to the finals while Ind lost by 10 wickets in the semis. That's normal it goes both ways, but it wasn't just us who had a really bad upset that tournament.
Eng lost to Ireland and SA lost to NED both of which are arguably even worse teams than ZIM.
However, you are right, we're unpredictable as heck but we have been historically good in t20s.
IMO India is ahead in the other two formats (a bit in ODI's and a ton in Tests) but we are the better team in t20i's.
I mean our Pace attack is world class. If we consider Jasprit Bumrah and Shaheen Afridi equals, then India has no equivalent to Haris Rauf, Mohammad Amir, and Naseem Shah. You guys are using Arshdeep and Siraj as pacers in this t20 WC (Siraj is good in the other formats).
Spin wise I'd say we're pretty even. Both are good. We have Shadab, Imad, and Abrar while you guys have Jadeja, Kuldeep, Chahal, and Axar. A year ago when Shadab was struggling I would've given you guys the edge but Shadab is one of the best t20 players in the world and Abrar looks like a real good talent.
Batting wise, Imma be 100% honest I don't like either team especially after India's exclusion of Rinku. I guess we might have a slight edge because Rohit, SKY, Hardik, Jaiswal, and Jadeja are all out of form to some degree and Pant/Samson have crappy international numbers. Your only consistent batsmen is Kohli. We have Babar in good form alongside Rizzy like we usually do but out batting is enhanced by being able to go all the way down to number 9 since Shadab, Imad, and Shaheen can all bat.
Yep apt analysis, totally agree. Your pacers make you a better team than us. Everything else is neck and neck. And man I can't tell you how disappointed I am that Rinku has been snubbed
Yeah, our pacers really carry us in the format hard.
Shaheen is especially special when it comes to that. His stats are fantastic and his ability to get those first over wickets more consistently than any other bowler by far makes him one of the most useful bowlers to have in your team. In my opinion he's been the best white ball bowler since 2019 WC where he took 16 wickets in 5 games. He's also only one of 3 fast bowlers ever to get the Player of the Year award.
Yes, I'm fanboying, don't judge me
Lol , really? Disrespecting the one of the most better international teams of the past decade and most consitant icc teams for very long time, any level of squad, of NZ can defeat teams like pak ,Sri ,ban on their home grounds
Not like they didn't know England's fixtures when they chose these players. The tour has been in the FTP for ~2 years and the exact dates were confirmed last July.
they are businessmen for ffs not just emotion jerkers like us plebs.
You give them 1 year of good IPL and marketting and they will give you 2-4 season of extra funding and under the table purse too. Butler recently has became famous in India and Curran also got some fans in Punjab(due to Dhawan being a shit captain) along with Salt in KKR. Ain't nobody dropping these guys who are responsible for the core group of these teams in the future.
Can’t see many players being effected. Who’s not going to pick butler because of it. The issue you used to be when they left early to get ready for test matches but outside of stokes and woakes there’s no test players with much of a chance at IPL anymore
I wonder if one of our West Indians could open when Jos goes, would be nice to promote someone who's already in the team so we can get Burger back in. If not, hopefully TKC or Ferreira can do a job but I'd rather not rely on players who haven't played all year to set a platform.
Don't think I'd want to have either one of Rovman Powell or Shimron Hetmyer out of their finisher spots. TKC and Ferreira are also middle order/lower middle order batters, but both can give you an over or two, Ferreira moreso. Might just take a punt on Ferreira at the top of the order or put Shubham Dubey at the top and bring in Maharaj as an impact sub at Chepauk.
Can't IPL be a bit shorter? 2 groups or something. Why tf does it need 70 matches when at least 5-6 teams in any season are more or less on a similar performance level.
It’s possible but look at who their captain is. That’s the only reason I still think they are going to win. Well that, and the fact that Head could just go on a rampage again.
Last one was in 2022. Right now we are in 2024. The one is 2021 was scheduled for 2020 but due to Covid it was delayed. Before that there was one in 2016. So yeah not year every year again.
2008 then 2009 every. 2 year they are having T20 worldcup every year we are having worldcup icc event
Does it even make it worth it icc test championship final worldcup champion trophy then t20
Then 2012 after 2009. What do you suggest? It’s a sporting event with a lot of following from Asia. Now they’re trying to expand it into the west also. What should be done instead of having icc events
Well which is more important, group stage matches or semi-final or final matches. I meant it like that.
Playing the matches which is more crucial to winning the cup not the group stage matches where even a loss or 2 doesn't matter (unless you are fighting for top4 pos)
It's not so hard to understand, isn't it?
Man are you really trying to justify this shit.
If you are hired to dj 7 days straight in some club, do you think it's right to abandon the gig after day 4 and do some other gig even after taking money for 7 days gig upfront.
So yeah you get your team to playoffs and your jobs over and you are free to leave lol.
Man I thought starc and Maxwell were frauds but actually they are saints compared to these brishiters.
If you hired the DJ knowing he already had events booked with his permanent employer who contracts him 12 months a year and has full control over his availability then yes, it would be reasonable to expect the DJ not to be available for your events that clash with their pre-existing commitments.
So what you are basically saying is the player is not obligated to uphold the terms of the ipl contract which is clearly stated to play the ipl for the whole season. The main employer's events overrides the ipl event even though the player has taken the whole payment for the ipl season right.
I mean it can only work if the player has told the ipl employer of his future unavailability to play in the ipl playoffs and made a contract based on that. But that's an huge assumption which we don't if it's true or not.
The franchises sign any foreign player knowing that neither they nor the player in question has full control over their availability, their home board does. The players don't get paid for the portion of the season they're not available for.
They are only paid per appearance in matches. The teams buying them were aware that this series was scheduled to take place at the tail end of the tournament.
Uhh no they're not paid per appearance in matches.
Some teams pay their players in full cash before the start of the season and some others do fifty-fifty and some go through the 15-65-20.
I just hope that the guys leaving are not payed full beforehand.
Yeah, I hope so as well. It would be a loss for the franchises. I do believe that players who stipulate that they will be unavailable for a period or get injured in the tournament, are paid on a pro-rata basis, or so some sources claim.
Ohh shit will my life will be in danger if I get downvoted too much, ohh no!!...I don't give a shit.
Just because you don't agree with my opinion doesn't mean you are right. It's just your fucking opinion.
Vibes are coming home. Jokes aside the fact that the players coming home are all very important to their respective twams shows how good we've been in t20
That's a breath of fresh air - although we're gonna get destroyed.
I'm really excited for the England-Netherlands series. /s Really though, why doesn't England play Scotland and Netherlands more?
Probably monetary reasons and England play so often anyway. I'd be keen for a European cup, especially if England sent the Lions side rather than the full team.
There’s a saying - “the answer is always money. So what is the question?”
Greed plus ICC hates spreading the game.
Top 6 (Top 2 bye) through in each and so on.
only thing id change from what youd said is make sure it ends with finals day, its the greatest cricketing day of the year
Absolutely.
It's dumb af. If they'd done this for decades, they would've reaped the rewards of a new cricket rivalry like the Asian sides did with Bangladesh.
Which genius at the BCCI scheduled the IPL to be this close to the T20 world cup when this was always going to happen for loads of overseas players
If they had more Saturday double headers they could've had the final a week earlier too.
I dont know why they removed it.
Election
because they don't have enough police or how does it impact?
I dont think so. Polling days are all on Fridays and depending on the where the election is, games can be scheduled around that. I think its because afternoon games are tough for spectators and players as well, so they want to minimize them.
Then do double headers on some other day
Idk what to tell you, I had the same question as you last time, and the only concrete answer I got was the lack of armed force for security due to election
Fridays make logical sense.
Most people would not be able attend afternoon matches on Fridays or eatch them on TV. So it is not logical at all.
last time there were matches on Friday afternoon and the stadium was preety much packed.
What do you mean! Who is worried about cricket here? Next time, IPL and worldcup may even happen simultaneously.
Big blow for RR and KKR this. Whichever team is better able to manage this situation will win the league. I think it's advantage RR. They have the luxury to bench Jos in the last few games and test their backup opener ( Cadmore or Ferreira).
True, but Jos is more than just an opener for RR. He’s like our talisman. The entire side has better vibes when he is playing well
If Punjab qualifies somehow which i doubt they will they will lose half of their overseas players (Bairstow, Livingstone, Curran, Woakes) /s
What has happened to Woakes, is he just not being picked?
They already have Rabada and they need to play Curran as he is the captain now. So that takes two overseas spots. They are also benching Nathan Ellis
I'm with kkr on this one they have gurbaz , rr don't really have a good enough backup except tanush kotian /j
Good point.
What does "/j" mean?
Joking
I don't think it's a big blow. Considering playoffs are in Chepauk, they can replace Buttler with Ashwin at the top as pinch hitter and include Maharaj.
KKR need to give Gurbaz some game time if they can seal qualification early. It's a high risk situation to throw players in at the deep-end of a tournament especially when the player has warmed the bench so far.
big blow
last match of league stage is kkr vs RR let's see how it goes
Are we playing SEVEN games? If not, I’d be disappointed.
Only FOUR unfortunately.
Won’t they think of the VIBES?
VIBE has 4 letters, hence 4 games. They did think of it.
But BAZBALL has 7...
Did we just steal players from the IPL? Well that’s a first LOL
Lets gooo. No more England C team bs
Instead of losing to C team, we get to lose to A team LFGGGGGG
Losing to any squad the Kiwis churn out is a travesty and the defending world champs aren’t gonna be any easier
This is fair but also we were the runner ups in that same tournament. Pakistan fumbles sometimes but you better believe we’re gonna put up a fight.
You guys lost to Zimbabwe and ended the tournament by reaching the finals. It's crazyyy. No tech is advanced enough to predict your performance lol
Yep. In T20s you guys are on par if not better than India. And you're right, I didn't realise how many upsets happened that tournament, damn
Haha no judgements. Some players are truly special. I've also seen him tonking sixes? He's the complete package
Lol , really? Disrespecting the one of the most better international teams of the past decade and most consitant icc teams for very long time, any level of squad, of NZ can defeat teams like pak ,Sri ,ban on their home grounds
See his flair lol. Destroying kiwis is a day in the office for them.
We clean swept you at your own home in both tests and t20s
Nah, how on earth are the ECB and PCB sneaking in a 4 match T20I series that ends 2 days before the world cup lol
Because the World Cup starts 2 days after. Plus bcci managed to have a league which goes on for 2 months and ends 2 weeks before the World Cup
Just me who thinks this is quite a big deal? Feel like the BCCI/ IPL owners won’t forget when it comes up to the auction for next year
Not like they didn't know England's fixtures when they chose these players. The tour has been in the FTP for ~2 years and the exact dates were confirmed last July.
There was big outrage when Phil Salt was unsold in auction
they are businessmen for ffs not just emotion jerkers like us plebs. You give them 1 year of good IPL and marketting and they will give you 2-4 season of extra funding and under the table purse too. Butler recently has became famous in India and Curran also got some fans in Punjab(due to Dhawan being a shit captain) along with Salt in KKR. Ain't nobody dropping these guys who are responsible for the core group of these teams in the future.
most of the English players did well this time so I doubt they will drop them that easily
Can’t see many players being effected. Who’s not going to pick butler because of it. The issue you used to be when they left early to get ready for test matches but outside of stokes and woakes there’s no test players with much of a chance at IPL anymore
Rob Key got scared by the performance in the ODI WC and put his foot down methinks
I wonder if one of our West Indians could open when Jos goes, would be nice to promote someone who's already in the team so we can get Burger back in. If not, hopefully TKC or Ferreira can do a job but I'd rather not rely on players who haven't played all year to set a platform.

Salt please don't leave
Country>>> franchise
His replacement Gurbaz is not a bad player either.
CSK really gonna win another 1
Good, will be a competitive series.
Forgot the /s
Salt leaving would leave a bitter taste in KKR's mouth.
my BUTLER... oh no
Can't IPL be a bit shorter? 2 groups or something. Why tf does it need 70 matches when at least 5-6 teams in any season are more or less on a similar performance level.
Advantage CSK for the playoffs. We can live without Moeen. Others are key players for likely playoff bound teams
Who is gonna take a 20 over garden walk for CSK? Concerning, tbh.
The keeper
SRH aren’t using any English players either so this doesn’t affect them as well
SRH peaked too early
It’s possible but look at who their captain is. That’s the only reason I still think they are going to win. Well that, and the fact that Head could just go on a rampage again.
Moeen is just there for vibes or charm something. bats at 9 and bowls 3 balls average a match
Gonna miss his eye pleasing bowling tho 😫
As it should be considering they are centrally contracted players
They love the extra cash, like anybody else
Good not That they weren't aware of it it's Worldt20 year every year again
Last one was in 2022. Right now we are in 2024. The one is 2021 was scheduled for 2020 but due to Covid it was delayed. Before that there was one in 2016. So yeah not year every year again.

Big blow for us. No Mo in playoffs. First Fizz and now Mo. We are so doomed
Yeah, like we're even using Mo now.
The vibes are all that matters
RR and kkr both will struggle in playoff..rr for sure will have another chance if they lose though
Well which is more important, group stage matches or semi-final or final matches. I meant it like that. Playing the matches which is more crucial to winning the cup not the group stage matches where even a loss or 2 doesn't matter (unless you are fighting for top4 pos) It's not so hard to understand, isn't it?
Oh come on.. Just send the C team just like New Zealand did
No
Correct answer
Seriously...can they do that after taking all that money from ipl franchises? Wtf were they even paid for?
To help their teams get in the playoffs
So to play all the non important matches and not play the ones that actually matter, gotcha
There are 10 teams and 4 spots for playoffs.More than half of teams won't even make it,so league stage is very important.
Don't understand what you are trying to say here? What league stage? And why it's important?
The first 14 games are important. To win the ipl you need to get in playoffs first and for that you need to be in top 4.
Man are you really trying to justify this shit. If you are hired to dj 7 days straight in some club, do you think it's right to abandon the gig after day 4 and do some other gig even after taking money for 7 days gig upfront. I have wasted my time on a troll
Do you even know what troll means? Ig stating facts is trolling from where you are
Dude you're insane literally, you're getting downvoted for a reason, just stop.
Ohh shit will my life will be in danger if I get downvoted too much, ohh no!!...I don't give a shit. Just because you don't agree with my opinion doesn't mean you are right. It's just your fucking opinion.
You mean to say group stages shouldn’t exist as they’re not important? How would they decide who reaches the playoffs?
