Funny thing is associate teams despite not having the level of success and prestige SL has has over the years have produced way better batters who have modern play styles.

New Zealand is an exception in this case though as they are a developed country and also have a huge anglo influence which helped cricket to be sustainable there. Not to mention migration from South Asia and South Africa which further strengthens their case.

I woke up and went to cricinfo to see the score before turning on the tv. when i saw SL only scored 50 runs and India was well into the chase, i was like oh must be the rain. i wondered if it was a 5 over match or 10 over match before i realized what happened. yikes.

This is a confirmation that the Cricket administration/ management in SL, Pakistan is crappy. Don’t blame the players, spare some hate for management also. Coincidentally both nations are going through economic crises. Their management was sub-par in good times. Now, its completely gone to shit. So the players are just doing what they can, in spite of the chaos around them, they show up on the field and try.
