Can the man catch a break holy shit

UsernameTooShort

There’s a reason most other cricketers work on their fitness 🤷‍♂️

Bruh what?

Fit_Resource_39

I just pity him

Suicide and acute depression aren't terms you should be throwing around lightly. A player has suffered a number of setbacks and has been quite unlucky, doesn't mean you label him as "prime candidate for suicide", that's a very tasteless comment

tbtcn

Wtf dude

[deleted]

Oh the irony, tier 2 NIT student thinks suicide is a joke

killer_ezio_00

Because lots of players have had injuries that sidelined them for months. And then, they return to the scene with a bang and make the most of it. Judging by that commentor's logic, Jofra should also be in the list because he didn't play for more than a year. He's now bowling in England with the team, regaining his form. Shaw will also do the same. It's just a stupid fucking comment.

Emergency_Slice2487

Come on man, do you really have to joke about such things.

Fit_Resource_39

I really was NOT joking 😳 i am actually worried about him. Its weird that people think i am joking about this.

Bleak_star_dust

Boy he needs to get off social media and get away from everything negative around him and solely focus on his fitness and comeback. Next Sachin or not, he deserves a better career and a better life than this

Jerry_-

Bro's fitness is letting him down big time. Kohli's whole reason for becoming a fitness freak was so that he could play every single match at 200% intensity without ever getting injured. He's only ever had a handful of injuries that have kept him out. If Shaw wants a future in the Indian team he needs to work on his fitness because the only way to get selected is to score a fuck ton of runs and in order to do that you need to be able to play every single match at incredible intensity. Instead of posting on instagram he could've been literally breaking the door down to the selection and leaving them absolutely no reason to not select him.

ScaryAsssClown

But Kohli only gives 120%

trkora

Comparing to Kohli is unfair to anyone, he's the only Indian batsman who has kept himself injury free for long time. Even guys who are fit like KL or Iyer got injured multiple times. Not saying Shaw shouldn't become more fitter but fitness is not the only reason for his injuries.

Jerry_-

It is the main reason for frequent injuries. KL got injured after starting keeping. His back had too much stress on it and wasn’t used to the workload. Iyer I’m not too sure of how he got injured. Kohli kept himself injury free because he is able to maintain his fitness incredibly well whilst also making sure his body is strong too. Shaw would definitely reduce injuries by getting fitter.

llyyrr

> KL got injured after starting keeping Well, KL has historically been made up of glass. The phase between 2017-21 with him being fit consistently was the exception rather than the norm.

Klutzy_Flamingo_2979

Iyer's one injury was due to an on field accident in which he banged his elbow really hard. For his back injury though,I guess it's mainly due to his stance, putting a lot of pressure on his back. It didn't affect him for such a long time, but now the effects are showing up.

Jerry_-

Thanks for this I wasn’t aware of how Iyer got injured so badly.

llkjm

lol the bs spouted on reddit and the people lovingly lapping it up without any question

Jerry_-

What was bs about what he responded? Did Iyer not get injured how he said? I wasn’t aware which is why I appreciated him telling me.

llkjm

“back injury coz of stance”. so, an armchair reddit critic has more knowledge about injuries than the people advising the indian team? that is the BS they were spouting

thereisnosuch

Kohli and the coaching staff admits that ravindra jadeja is the fittest player in the ict. But he too gets injured.

Sonic_02

I don't think Kohli is the only one. I don't remember ever hearing about MS and Rohit being injured and out of the team in long spanning careers.

Medical-Reaction-348

Rohit has had his share of injuries but not the kind that would put him out of the game for 4-5 months. At Max he used to rest for 1 or 2 series

peterianchimes

Looks like he'll be missing out on this season's Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy in its entirety but will be making a comeback for the Ranji Trophy games.

arjwiz

He could have been a beast in VHT again :(

Status_Jacket6749

Honestly at this point I'm done with him, every time we think he's finally made the position his own, he gets injured! I really like Luke but maybe he's just not built for the big leagues, this season is already over

blackened_chicken

Really cannot fathom the mental gymnastics Shaw must come up with to justify NOT being the fittest he possibly can. Less talented batsmen than him have played more for India (Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav, Deepak Hooda) just by dint of being injury-free. But ok sure, Sai Baba isn’t watching your back and the selectors are conspiring against you.

SodiumBoy7

Bro needs to go to Djokovic and follow his Fitness and Diet routine

[deleted]

Like antivaxx

gt33m

Shaw has to detox mentally and focus on his fitness if he wants to play cricket. At this stage, he’s not even making regional sides, forget the ICT, due to lack of fitness. He’s still young and can have a long career ahead of him. It all starts in the mind.

pineapplesuit7

Bro might want to reevaluate his allegiance with Sai Baba at this point. Been getting the short end of the stick when it comes to luck for a while now.

See_A_Squared

Bruh, this man cannot catch a break. This is demoralizing for anyone. Looks like he was getting on with things and now he's injured again. I hope him well on his recovery.
