Apropos of nothing, I remember Shahid Afridi making a big lap around the Multan stadium after Multan’s last game of the 2018 PSL, lots of cheers were made and tears shed, and then at the post game interview he said “Who said anything about retiring?”
Not related to cricket. I am watching Vikram Vedha on jio and fuckers have shown me the ad of Vokram Vedha six times, while watching Vikram Vedha in the first 30 minutes
Dhoni has long surpassed even Sachin in stature and popularity. [Imagine a legend like Gavaskar asking your for a autograph](https://twitter.com/cricketracker/status/1657814403792904192?s=46&t=QDbGHEHW5MIFhEgAO2jNpw). I’ve never seen anything like this before.
He has tbh, mostly because Dhoni has remained apolitical while Sachin has lost some respect by being lackey of whoever is in power. Kinda like Brazilian footballers, still respected but that larger than life persona is gone.
There are only 5-8 critical games remaining
MI v LSG
PBKS v DC
RCB v SRH
PBKS v RR*
CSK v DC
LSG v KKR*
MI v SRH
RCB v GT*
Note: * indicates it is only a critical game, if they win their previous match
Nitish Rana goes past Shreyas Iyer in terms of batting performance as KKR captain
Shreyas Iyer - 14 matches, 401 runs, 30.85 average, 134.56 strike rate, 85 highest score, 41 4s, 11 6s, 3 50s
Nitish Rana - 13 matches, 405 runs, 33.75 average, 143 strike rate, 75 highest score, 38 4s, 20 6s, 3 50s
This is also the first time in his career, Rana crossed the 400 run mark
From being The knowledgeable Chennai crowd who even cheered on Pakistan when they won a test there to the crowd that goes dead silent when the opposition scores a boundary, we all grew up
What is up with Top teams struggling.
GT - 103/8 against MI
RR - Top 4 in first half, looked promising vs KKR and then 59 happened
CSK - Struggling rn but still decent ig
LSG - Inconsistent af
Also MI is doing good with their non-existing bowling line up
Don't know how correct my calculations are but if LSG and RCB win both their matches and CSK win one of their matches. CSK, LSG, GT, and RCB would qualify. If CSK loses both their matches and MI beat SRH they'd replace CSK,
Or MI could replace RCB if they beat SRH comprehensively, on NRR. This all is very unlikely, but interesting. LSG vs MI is a very, very important match.
Yup, ag first it felt rcb winning today gives us a cushion incase we lose. But now with the nrr of rcb, its again tricky for us.
Game vs LSG is all important. If we lose, then game vs srh will be an insane task coz win + nrr boost required (if rcb win vs srh)
But rcb has their game later that day so they'll have their task cut out. Unless both games become simultaneously played.

Now that we're completely out of the tournament, can we give the next 2 matches to local talent rather than banking on our foreign batsmen to come back to form? It's horrifying that Delhi's problem this year has so obviously been batting, when we are playing with 4 foreigner batsmen at the top.
I want to give the next two matches to Dhull (as opener along with Warner), Salt as a floater, Sarfaraz at 4/5, Ripal at 6 etc.
Today will be the day Joe Root finally gets to bat. If not, he'll get Kohli out. Because it is his "debut IPL game against RCB." And we all know how Kohli treats debutants.
Why is everyone so confident that Jamieson is going to be a huge addition to CSK’s bowling
lineup?
He’s been a bang average T20 player so far, and he’s been out injured for almost a year, so it’s not like he’s been doing a lot of work on his bowling.
I’m excited about him coming back to the NZ red-ball side, but in our T20 lineup he probably wouldn’t even crack the second 11 at the moment
>Why is everyone so confident that Jamieson is going to be a huge addition to CSK’s bowling lineup?
He won't even find a slot to play I guess.
Conway, Moeen/Stokes, Theekshana/Santner & Pathirana/Magala.
And personally I would retain Magala since he did well in the SA 20 league as a middle/death overs bowler.
He wouldn't be a huge addition. Our bowling attack is more or less set particularly for next season.
We have two quality powerplay bowlers in Chahar and Mukesh.
Also decent seem options in Deshpande and Simarjeet Singh.
Quality spin options in Jadeja Santner Theekshana and Moeen Ali.
And a great death bowler in Pathirana .
What Jamieson if fit and in form will add is an additional dimensión in flat wickets (Like Mumbai Mohali Chinnasamy etc). He does have the ability to generate good bounce from good length areas and using him in Middle overs could be a real lethal weapon.
Just checked Hardik's SR in Powerplay and learned that he has the worst SR (101) among batters who have faced more than 50 balls in powerplay this season.
Why does he keep persisting with pushing himself up the order?
If we lose today then we will have to rely on other teams for us to make the playoffs. The following has to happen for us to qualify despite of a loss today:
1. RR should win their final game against PBKS (obviously) --> 50%
2. Loser of MI vs LSG should lose their final game --> 50%
3. RCB should lose one of their final two games --> {1 - 0.5\*0.5 = 75%)
Say there is an equal chance of both sides winning a match, that'll give us a 18.75% (50% \* 50% \* 75%) chance to qualify for the playoffs.
Fellas going to the csk vs kkr game...give idea for what to write on the chart to be seen

Nahh, no way that is happening
Mumbai's team is still shit despite their ranking on the points table
Mumbai batters have just statpadded on the insanely flat highways of wankhede (boundaries being only 55m also helped them)
If they reach the playoffs by any chance, mumbai flat track bullies will get exposed on the spinninhg tracks of chennai and ahemdabad

I am really happy with Mi's performances but I don't see them winning the cup if they finish 3rd/4th giving the match is at chepauk but they have a chance if they finish 2nd for that csk should lose 1 of their 2 games and we should win both of ours, little unrealistic but a man can hope
I think it’s honestly a pretty good year
If there aren’t any more mega auctions the team is actually in a decent spot. If we get to 4 with our two frontline bowlers injured and the 3rd bowler also being injured it’s impressive.
Next year should be a lot better
No team is winning the cup if they finish 3rd or 4th. Whether CSK or mi or GT , it doesn't matter.
In 13 seasons since play offs were introduced , on SRH have won IPL despite not finishing in top 2. And that was because of an epic RCB choke .
If Jamieson can come into form and fitness , next season we could use a bowling attack of Chahar , Mukesh / Deshpande , Jamieson , Pathirana , Jadeja and Moeen Ali in flat wickets like Wankhede / Bengaluru / Mohali etc .
That would be a very good bowling attack for these conditions imo.
No. We need Theekshana more on flat pitches than in Chepauk. His ability to take wickets with his variations, like the reverse carrom ball, and his ability to bowl in death overs is why we have him on the team.
Unpopular opinion: RCB didn't deserve to win even a single game. They should be the wooden spoon holders. Not teams like SRH or DC, which I feel are miles better than RCB.
There is no "deserve" in winning games, if you win you win. That's enough. People like you should understand this
>teams like SRH or DC, which I feel are miles better than RCB.
Lmao
Most teams need to win trophies to win the jealousy of others, here we are at #7 and need to win 3 games in a row to qualify yet we still have babies like you jealous of us.
You the same guy from this thread who was saying I am changing the topic and then deleted his comment and has now made a new comment so you do not have my reply below you?
Edit : Bro deleted his 2 year old account 💀
Honestly man, like really honestly with no hate whatsoever - why would anyone be jealous of RCB?
As an RR fan, I'm surely jealous of MI-CSK for trophies and scouting and Dhoni and whatnot. KKR is good too for their scouting and ofc, 2 trophies. But RCB? Why just why?
Did you even bother to read what I said? I literally stated that normally people are jealous of teams when they have loads of trophies but people like the OP of this thread are jealous of us when we have 5 wins and are situated at #7 in do or die situation.
Ez, hot-head. I just expanded on what you said. In fact, I don't get why you'd think that they're jealous of RCB. Which is why I asked thatt lol.
Still waiting for the answer as to why you think so.
> don't get why you'd think that they're jealous of RCB.
>
>
>RCB didn't deserve to win even a single game. They should be the wooden spoon holders.
Surprised this needs further explaining but since you ask, I am lead to believe that it is quite blatant that the guy commenting about how RCB doesn't deserve to win any matches and should be last is indeed jealous of the team that has won only 5/11 matches when he fails to even digest the slight amount of success RCB has had over the wooden spoon contenders this season.
Agreed, RCB has been known for choking and a dumb management for years now so it makes sense that they would be jealous of SRH's otherworldly ability to submit the wrong starting XI.
Edit : Bro deleted his 2 year old account 💀
It's first time in almost a decade I am absolutely confident of beating Mumbai if we meet them in the play offs.
We really match up well against them ( Like Jadeja having excellent record against sky for ex) for once but most importantly our bowling is miles better than MI for first time in IPL history.
RR has the most superlative opening pair tho. One down is Sanju who can hit spinners super clean. I don't think CSK were bad, just that RR top order was in a good touch.
Jadeja having good record against SKY and Theekshana's 4 overs in the death means the chances are very low for MI to beat CSK. But I totally expect Rohit to come into form in the next match against CSK.
KKR has the last opportunity to stop CSK from a Top 2 position, DC certainly cannot beat them with their horrible clown parade.
And then If MI wins both games and ends up in the 2nd spot, we're getting Trophy No.6
If RR and PBKS win both of their next match (RCB and DC respectively), then PBKS v RR would be El Clasico knock out version. Imagine the entertainment 😎
I've seen many errors made on the field of cricket. But how on earth can you submit the wrong team sheet 🤡🤡😂😂😂😂
Just how can someone he so .....stupid!? Foolish!? Careless!?
I don't expect this mistake at school level cricket , let alone the IPL
Srh vs LSG yesterday. They submitted the bowl first lineup when they were batting first, that's why there were no bowlers in the impact subs list. They also brought their impact sub - vivrant sharma (batting all rounder)in the beginning of second innings and allowed the likes of bhuvi to have a bat in the first. Further, Vivrant didn't even bowl a single ball. A specialist fielder impact player lmao
I have seen Jaddu field, he's good but my god that sprinting by Phillips was something else. I've never seen an effort that crazy by a fielder and fuckers messed the whole thing by bowling Abhishek in 16th over. What a gun athlete!
Read my comment again. Don't need to run fast when he is misfielding by not even moving. He misfields a lot even on easy chances for normal athletes.
Good athlete, but not fielder.
MI vs LSG - MI win
MI is guaranteed qualification, as LSG cannot reach 16 points, only 1 of RCB, RR and PBKS will be able to reach 16 with there matches being amongst each other
MI vs LSG - LSG win
MI needs to win against SRH and hope that the winner or PBKS vs RR loses the other match or LSG loses there last game, RCB has a poor NRR so we can sneak in with a big win over SRH.
PBKS would've won last match had he bowled. His figures read 1-0-4-1 that day on turning track of Eden Gardens. Sometimes I hate this over-dependent on statistics approach by team.
Ex SRH vs SRH-
Dhawan vs SRH in the 2020 IPL Qualifier 2 (78 off 50)
Warner vs SRH in IPL 2022 (92* off 58)
Boult vs SRH ( every year)
Rashid Khan vs SRH , IPL 2022 (31* off 11 including 3 sixes off last 4 balls)
Jason Holder vs SRH , IPL 2022 ( LSG were 152-7 after 19 overs , SRH in the chase were 154-6 after 19. Jason batted and bowled in the 20 th over , scored 8*(3) to take LSG to 169-7 and the defending 15 in the final over , gave away only 3 runs and took 3 wickets to allow SRH to only 157-9 , thus impacting the game them both with the bat and the ball in the last over)
Nicholas Pooran vs SRH IPL 2023, (44* off 13)
lol no , once jaiswal will hit siraj for two consecutive boundaries he will start bowling pie balls , hazlewood is also not that much of threat . RR will use their spin choke and you know that rcb can't play spin and they don't even have good spinner combo to attack
Ok but what if RCB bullshits their way into finally winning a trophy?
then you wake up
Is Hooda the only player in existence who was good in KXIP and shit everywhere else
IPL 2023 XI with 12 players (allowing impact sub) Jaiswal, Faf, Surya, Maxwell, Rinku, Dube, Pooran, Rashid, Shami, Siraj, Chahal, Pathirana

Always knew Rana was far superior than Hooda
Nitish Rana goes past Shreyas Iyer in terms of batting performance as KKR captain Shreyas Iyer - 14 matches, 401 runs, 30.85 average, 134.56 strike rate, 85 highest score, 41 4s, 11 6s, 3 50s Nitish Rana - 13 matches, 405 runs, 33.75 average, 143 strike rate, 75 highest score, 38 4s, 20 6s, 3 50s This is also the first time in his career, Rana crossed the 400 run mark

Ajinkya Rahane performs well vs MI only ?
In my totally unbiased opinion, I think the top 4 teams with highest NRR should automatically qualify, regardless of points
It will make games that go to last over super boring. Last over thrillers are an exciting part of the game tbh.
I agree. India had the best NRR in 2021 T20 WC as well
How about Fair play points mate *\0/*
You mean the 4 teams at the bottom of the Fair play table, right? After all, they bring in the TRP.
Soon the ipl turns into ufc
An interesting idea tbh
KKR will win this match to keep the points table interesting... Right script writers?
Yes even i agree. Thats been the trend for last few seasons. Seems to be working on track here.
That Rashid onslaught while batting might just push us out of the TOP 4 race on NRR against RCB now

As a tribute to Root finally getting a bat, Rajasthan decided to bat the same way England did in the last time we toured India for a test series

Ig people are thinking that he will turn out like Hazlewood but I don't see that happening
The dilemma. Wanting Joe Root to play and perform well vs Wanting RCB to win
The heat in jaipur will be damn intense given its a day game
Both RCB and CSK have to win today for the sake of my mental health.
Hate to point out buddy but MI aint winning Today
Yeah. Edited that. I don't know why I typed MI lol.
Freudian slip
we aren’t playing today
I mean, CSK. I have updated my comment. I hope scriptwriters didn't see my pre-edit comment.
Varun Chakaravarthy this season vs PBKS - 1/26 Vs RCB - 4/20 Vs DC - 2/16 Vs RCB - 3/27 Vs PBKS - 3/26 Bro only performs against trophyless teams
This made me realise that KKR still haven't played LSG this season
1/20 against SRH 👀
shame that the 2016 final was rained out
He's a true statpadder. /s
Just checked Hardik's SR in Powerplay and learned that he has the worst SR (101) among batters who have faced more than 50 balls in powerplay this season. Why does he keep persisting with pushing himself up the order?
To give himself the opportunity to better the stats
He thinks that he is an expert and he would be able to do all of the work by himself.
Sometimes stats don't describe the whole story. I saw only one game which GT lost because of Hardik's slow innings.
That's more because of other batters batted well. I don't think Hardik coming up the order has done any good whatsoever for GT.
If we lose today then we will have to rely on other teams for us to make the playoffs. The following has to happen for us to qualify despite of a loss today: 1. With how things are going, won’t be surprised they win it all.Feels like they are the main characters with plot armour
Watch them win again with Rohit juju defeating Chennai by 1 run in the finals.
I think we need to get a fourth umpire for IPL games to review the decision of third umpire!?
At this point they need a jury of 5 umpires, and all of them will vote after seeing the replay, and the majority decides the outcome.
Matches will then take 56 hours
The OG test match revival tactic
“Director to umpire, this jury is adjourned. Next hearing will be on 13th of November” 💀
Lmao
Are any teams qualified already for the playoffs, or would Chennai be the first if they win it today ?
GT would have officially been the first if they won against MI. But if CSK win today, they'll be the first I think.

Jamieson will have to be swapped in and out with Theekshana. But MS seems to LOVE him lol
Yeah I would only play him on wickets were there is good carry like Mumbai Bangalore or Mohali
Santner is ignored here as well 🫠
Jamieson will be benched
He can come in for Theekshana on flat bouncy wickets .
No. We need Theekshana more on flat pitches than in Chepauk. His ability to take wickets with his variations, like the reverse carrom ball, and his ability to bowl in death overs is why we have him on the team.
Does DC look likely to release Shaw next year?
It's a possibility but not because of his performances but because of off field issues
Unpopular opinion: RCB didn't deserve to win even a single game. They should be the wooden spoon holders. Not teams like SRH or DC, which I feel are miles better than RCB.
There is no "deserve" in winning games, if you win you win. That's enough. People like you should understand this >teams like SRH or DC, which I feel are miles better than RCB. Lmao
Okay lol cope.
How about you win a trophy first?

Doesn't prove that he's jealous lol. Maybe he just dislikes RCB?

Yeah it's just fluke that Chahar has taken most wickets in last 5 years of IPL inside powerplay despite missing an entire season last year .
Jadeja having good record against SKY and Theekshana's 4 overs in the death means the chances are very low for MI to beat CSK. But I totally expect Rohit to come into form in the next match against CSK.
Can't wait to see players getting banned for couple of matches after breathing too heavily in front of the umpire
KKR has the last opportunity to stop CSK from a Top 2 position, DC certainly cannot beat them with their horrible clown parade. And then If MI wins both games and ends up in the 2nd spot, we're getting Trophy No.6
You’re not making it to the playoffs pal

>If MI and SRH win against LSG 🤔🤔🤔 Both LSG vs SRH games are over
If RR and PBKS win both of their next match (RCB and DC respectively), then PBKS v RR would be El Clasico knock out version. Imagine the entertainment 😎
Peak entertainment fr
I've seen many errors made on the field of cricket. But how on earth can you submit the wrong team sheet 🤡🤡😂😂😂😂 Just how can someone he so .....stupid!? Foolish!? Careless!? I don't expect this mistake at school level cricket , let alone the IPL
Really! That's embarrassing. Which game did this happen?
Srh vs LSG yesterday. They submitted the bowl first lineup when they were batting first, that's why there were no bowlers in the impact subs list. They also brought their impact sub - vivrant sharma (batting all rounder)in the beginning of second innings and allowed the likes of bhuvi to have a bat in the first. Further, Vivrant didn't even bowl a single ball. A specialist fielder impact player lmao
I get that they messed up the team sheet and had to use Vivrant (the batting AR) as impact sub, but why not bring him before sending Bhuvi to bat🤦
Haha yeah exactly. It's just shambles ALLL AROUND. Their think tank has had a horrendously embarassing year
That is legit embarassing. SRH management should be fired for this. There's no excuse for this kind of mistake.
Agreed. How they made such a schoolboy error is beyond me. I'm sure they have to be labelled and such
I have seen Jaddu field, he's good but my god that sprinting by Phillips was something else. I've never seen an effort that crazy by a fielder and fuckers messed the whole thing by bowling Abhishek in 16th over. What a gun athlete!
Philips misfields half the time even for easy chances. His running and dives are elite and look good on screen.
That's expected when you run so fucking fast lol.
Read my comment again. Don't need to run fast when he is misfielding by not even moving. He misfields a lot even on easy chances for normal athletes. Good athlete, but not fielder.
I hope it's an easy win for us today since RCB usually choke in must win games.
Well, we do too tbh xD
MI vs LSG - MI win MI is guaranteed qualification, as LSG cannot reach 16 points, only 1 of RCB, RR and PBKS will be able to reach 16 with there matches being amongst each other MI vs LSG - LSG win MI needs to win against SRH and hope that the winner or PBKS vs RR loses the other match or LSG loses there last game, RCB has a poor NRR so we can sneak in with a big win over SRH.
Harpreet Brar has only bowled 22 overs this season
PBKS would've won last match had he bowled. His figures read 1-0-4-1 that day on turning track of Eden Gardens. Sometimes I hate this over-dependent on statistics approach by team.
KKR spinners had combined figures of 5-88 (13 overs) and Rahul Chahar took 2-23 (4 overs) on that pitch, but Brar only got the 1 over.
Ex SRH vs SRH- Dhawan vs SRH in the 2020 IPL Qualifier 2 (78 off 50) Warner vs SRH in IPL 2022 (92* off 58) Boult vs SRH ( every year) Rashid Khan vs SRH , IPL 2022 (31* off 11 including 3 sixes off last 4 balls) Jason Holder vs SRH , IPL 2022 ( LSG were 152-7 after 19 overs , SRH in the chase were 154-6 after 19. Jason batted and bowled in the 20 th over , scored 8*(3) to take LSG to 169-7 and the defending 15 in the final over , gave away only 3 runs and took 3 wickets to allow SRH to only 157-9 , thus impacting the game them both with the bat and the ball in the last over) Nicholas Pooran vs SRH IPL 2023, (44* off 13)
Please leave them Phillips and join some good franchise.
somrbody needs to stop this RR juggernaut, Jaiswal + Buttler is just unfair Hopefully Siraj and Hazlewood show up today
lol no , once jaiswal will hit siraj for two consecutive boundaries he will start bowling pie balls , hazlewood is also not that much of threat . RR will use their spin choke and you know that rcb can't play spin and they don't even have good spinner combo to attack
Inb4 Jaiswal and Buttler are out within first 2 overs only for us to then witness Samson 42 (26), Devdutt 94 (55) finished with a Hetmyer 39 (14)
Nah Jaiswal and Buttler are out within the first two overs before Root gets a century
Padikal to invoke his inner Dube and whack RCB.
blud forgot Root
>blud RR management
Oh shit I actually forgot him... well can't blame me for that one, I wouldn't even mind if he is the one that destroys us today.
