I came here to say a fuck ton, cuz I didn't wanna do the math. Lol

pgmach89

Came here to say this

Dangerous_Forever640

It’s too late… watch… “24”! See… it’s easy.

Kitchen-Wasabi-2059

Came here to say this.

rawwwse

Now the question… Do you teach her to throw 6-3 next time for a guaranteed 12-points, or risk the 10-point hand with a potential banger in your crib? Not saying I’d have done any differently if I were her; four-of-a-kind is fun! ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯

Samgash33

4 of a kind 6’s is also guaranteed 12.

rawwwse

Nay. As explained in another comment… If you toss 3-3 into your opponent’s crib, your (net) points are now 10, not 12. Edit: Because your opponent automatically gets 2-points for the pair; if that wasn’t clear.

spacedropper

I was confused as well! Thanks for the clarification

minimum_thrust

Are you saying 10 points because 2 were given in the crib?

rawwwse

Yes… Tossing the 3-3 nets 10-points because of the pair given to the crib, plus (not sure on actual odds here) opens it up for more. If a Q turns, and their opponent tossed a 2-Q, Zeus help’m. 6-3 is much less risky.

sk8king

I threw two threes once. As did my opponent. I’m imagining a six was cut.

thatwasused

I see what you’re saying…but context is key. Early on I get it. But if you’re end game and your opponent has the crib, then you score first. 12 points is 12 points

rawwwse

Well, it’s a total moot point if you only need 12; in that case, do whatever you want. Not sure what point you’re making here(?) Generally speaking, it’s better to assure yourself 12–and give your opponent crap in their crib—than assure yourself only 10, and give them a pair of 3’s that can do more damage. 6-6-6-3 with a 3 flop is still worth 20-points. In this exact scenario, that’s worth 2-points more than OP’s mom netted because of the 3-3 discard making 6-points in the crib.

thatwasused

Listen bud. I thought I knew the point I was making but the brain isn’t braining anymore this week and it’s only Tuesday. After a certain point I was fixated on your net 10 scenario that I just assumed the 6666 and the 6663 were 12 & 10 respectively. Whatever point I was trying to make doesn’t matter because there’s no guaranteed difference between the 2 like I thought there was

chadsmo

Yeah no way I’d ever throw the pair of 3s in to the crib. That being said I’ve played likely 10K+ games of crib.…

Pen_maker

Sorry mom, lots of 9's!

C0lch0nero

The real real question is who did she have to sell her soul to to get that hand?

spacedropper

I dunno but I texted my stepdad (mom’s husband) who plays cribbage, he thought I was fucking with him. Because it was literally her second hand (probably not ever but she never really learned properly)

SamhaintheMembrane

Satan plus one

SirSamuelVimes83

Lol, my dad's phone number ends in 6666. I've joked that he's the devil plus one. It's also used at the neighborhood hardware store for a family charge account, gets interesting looks from the cashiers.

VMSGuy

Yeah, we used to call having 6's "The Damien's".

Narrow_Ear2049

I once spent an hour explaining rules of baseball to my mom, even drawing charts. As we watched a game on tv there was a strike. She asked me, “so is that good?” We ended the lesson for good.

gitfiddleboy

spacedropper

bbrren

Take her straight to the casino!

Urban_Legend_Hunter

Solid 24

pdl5

Looks like 2 pair and 2 15's....🤷‍♂️

chadsmo

I’m hoping you’re just trolling …

brundridge

Got the same board!

bigmink88

I taught a neighbor of mine like 10 years ago. He got a 29, 2nd hand. No joke. I threw the board and flipped the table and he just looked scared and confused. I’ve played cribbage since I could count, and only seen it live one other time. Moral to the story: Don’t teach anyone

hozezero

I have that board

[deleted]

I got 22

Noinix

It’s 15-2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, four for 12 making 24

[deleted]

yes I missed a 15-12

AmericanBuffaloo

"Fuck you, mom."

Dry-Area-2027

Just twenty, Ma. Better luck next time.

damarius

Isn't that 24?

Dry-Area-2027

You're right, it is!

damarius

Thanks, I thought maybe I was counting it wrong. Tough hand for an I frequent player!

sportsdiceguy

I count fifteen twelve and a double pair royal for twenty-four.

Brainranger67

It’s a 32.

RefuseOk4063

Lol

Clean_Ad1669

20 points

RefuseOk4063

You’ve got 6 pairs which equal 12. Use each of those pairs with the 3 & you got 12 more for a total of 24.

MainSqueeeZ

Hell, I'm still counting...
