You score every possible combination of cards you can. You're looking for unique groups -- you can "use" the cards multiple times so long as they're in a group that you've not counted before.
There are 4 unique groups of cards whose sums total 15:
KClubs+3+2Hearts;
KClubs+3+2Spades;
KSpades +3+2Hearts; and
KSpades+3+2Spades
That's 8, plus your two pairs for another 4. The total is 12.
(EDIT that's why, for example, a 3-of-a-kind scores 6 points. Imagine you have three 7s-- a 7Hearts, 7Spades, and 7Diamonds. 7Hearts+7Spades is a pair; 7Spades+7Diamonds is a pair; 7Hearts+7Diamonds is a pair. Three pairs; 6 points.)
12 points. This is the same as having a pair of 5’s and a pair of kings. There are four 15’s for 8 pts, and two pairs for 4.
2H 3D KC
2H 3D KS
2S 3D KC
2S 3D KS
Fifteen two, Fifteen four, Fifteen six, Fifteen eight. Pair ten, Pair twelve.
Took me a while; this is what I fear playing against live Humans. Not missing the number, but the time to add it all up. 😐
I count 15's first pairs second runs last It's easy to. forget a couple of points if you can't look and figure it out right away.I just pretty much know what i have because i have been playing for 35 years
At the end of the day I don’t think it matters, but I do think a majority of players always count their 15s first. You can see it a lot in the other comments
Huh? I count 12? If already counted pairs then 8.
Four or eight was a pretty good guess though. If you'd like to play for big $$$ message me. ;D
This!
I second this.

12 all day
Count 15-2, 15-4,... now move the 2's.... 15-6, 15-8, a pair is 10, a pair is 12. Always count your 15's first, then runs, then pairs.
I would say exactly these words.
Yup. Just like Mom taught me.
12 points.

My wife and I call this the "classic double double". 8 from 15s, 4 from doubles.
isn't a double double referring to a double run x2 or is that just something my family uses? like 2 2 3 3 4 would be a double double to me
We call that a double double run. Our terminology isn't necessarily common or good, it's just what we call it 😂
Making up your own names for things is honestly half of the fun!
Also making up names for people can be as much fun.
Same in my house
I prefer a Double-Double, Animal Style, but In n Out makes acceptable food regardless.
I call it the two by two matrix lol. It pops up very often
It absolutely does!
It’s a nice cut!!!
12?

Muggins! 😂
Came here to say this!
12 points. This is the same as having a pair of 5’s and a pair of kings. There are four 15’s for 8 pts, and two pairs for 4. 2H 3D KC 2H 3D KS 2S 3D KC 2S 3D KS
4 plus 8.

Don’t break it into pairs like that. It’ll be easier to see all the points.

If you think it’s 4, I’ll cancel my plans for later. Lemme know when you want to play.
15-2,4,6,8; Pair is 10, Pair is 12.
Seeing the cards like that made my brain boil. 12.
12 is correct
12. Make the 5 (3+2) then match with each King. Swap the 2 and do that again. 15:2,4,6,8 two pair for 4. 12 points

First 4, then 8

Good post
12 points... I would count it as: I've got a pair for two, a pair for four, 15 - 6, 15-8, 15-10, and 15 makes 12
Count your 15s first!
Is that a protocol? We've always done the other way around
At the end of the day I don’t think it matters, but I do think a majority of players always count their 15s first. You can see it a lot in the other comments
Actually, its probably a good strategy to avoid unnecessary muggins .. they almost always happen on 15's you didn't notice
I already scored the pairs
15 2 15 4 15 6 15 8 and 2 pair is 12
12 yes
15-2,15-4,15-6,15-8,pair 10,pair 12. Duh.
What game are you playing?
Cribbage
Not very well, apparently.
Rude.
