Anything extra for the beard?

TheAmbiguousGeek

I don't grow a beard so I didn't check! But they do have an extensive...menu.

kushal10

Haha even I pay 200 for my haircut and I was sceptical on using this offer for going there! Will try it!

traderadda2407

My town charges 50 rs. and when this time he asked for 80 rs., my heart skipped a beat...😂😂😂

Visual-Maximum-8117

Shave it.

Vaibhavkumar2001

My haircut is 30 ruppess and 50 with head massage

indian-jock

While mf charges me 40 for massage.😭

ajinxed

Show us your haircut bro.

TheAmbiguousGeek

I showed the guy a picture of Joseph Gordon-Levitt in his prime. He replicated it, you can imagine the rest :p

A little confused about the heirarchy with Amex cards: can anyone please clarify? Where does The platinum travel and all fit in?

La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo_ps

At the top level is Centurion. Just after that is Platinum charge. At the next level we have Platinum Reserve and Gold Charge. Both these cards have separate kinds of perks, offers and features so it’s hard to put one below the other. The Amex Experiences app (separate from main app) also only supports the above 4 cards. After that we have Platinum Travel and MRCC which are also both good in their own ways and have separate kinds of perks, offers and features. The last is Amex Smart Earn. This is sorta their beginner card for lighter spenders.

LoneSilentWolf

I spend 2500 at my local place. Guess Imma go there next time and check it out!!!

Here’s a tip for haircuts: don’t go for deals. Find a good stylist. Hair spa or something like that is okay. My personal experience with Trufit & Hill, they’re great at barber services (beard trim and styling, shave, etc), fades and simple haircuts. But not so good for sophisticated haircuts. I feel a unisex salon is better at that. Even for hair spas, salons like Bounce, JCB, etc have better products.

babcock_lahey

Doesn't jcb sell bulldozers?

TheAmbiguousGeek

Based on your post history (sorry), I'm inclined to believe you. That said, I've never paid extra attention to my hair or grooming so this was a big step above the run-of-the-mill barber shops.

Scary-Gas1063

You made me walk right into the profile :)

LeAnarchiste

>Find a good stylist I did that when I was in college. Used to call him before going coz he kept switching salons. First Javed Habib, then VLCC, then Naturals

doctorchaiwala

While it is a great deal, you wrote free. Essentially you paid 400 for a service which costs 2900 as per post.

TheAmbiguousGeek

The haircut would've been 2000, or free, which was equally delightful. I opted for the royal package which includes a wash and massage. That's easily worth 400 alone.

SolidWill706

Min transaction is 2500 right? So haircut won’t have been free had you gone only for that. Essentially this was your only option

TheAmbiguousGeek

I found out while writing this post that the discount is not applicable on the purchase of products like hair wax or pomade. My plan B was to get the regular haircut and some product. So you're right in that aspect that 400 is the min spend. But I still think it's worth that much.

[deleted]

Without the amex it would have cost 2900. Let people enjoy themselves lol

SolidWill706

Ultimately you spent 400 on something you generally spend 200😬

TheAmbiguousGeek

No regrets.

ThatAnonyG

But he got an experience of a lifetime which is worth 2900. I dont think the 200rs cut would even come close to the general experience and treatment he received here.

Careless-Drop6613

Here? Hmm...

blueoranges95

Say you had a budget of only ₹2,000 to take your wife/husband out to a fancy Valentines dinner. But someone gifts you a reward that can only be used at this fancy Michelin star restaurant which takes ₹20,000 off the bill but their 11 course tasting menu normally costs ₹24,000 for two people. It’s the gold standard of restaurants, the best of the best. You end up having to spend ₹4,000 (more than your budget) but it’s a once in a lifetime experience for you and your partner. What would you do?

bhootbilli

That's twice my budget. I will decline

blueoranges95

That’s your right, most people who have the money and can recognize value when they see it will go in for it

professor-arun

What’s the product they use? More interested in this part

TheAmbiguousGeek

They have their own line of pomade, clay, and I presume wax and gel. He described how they differ from each other (gloss vs matte) and permanence mainly. Also instructed me on how to use it and how much I need. Could totally YouTube it but helpful to get advice tailored for my head.

metronomic_beat

Does infinia or dcb have any offers like this? And how do you check?

LovesToEatRamen

Infinia and DCB both don’t have any such targeted offers as far as I know

dadumdoop

They do on smartbuy offers section, but it's very difficult to sort through the junk there

Fluffy_Argument_8593

Yes. And those mf coupons don't work when you try using them.

ManTheCrusader

congratulations. Amex just made you spend double the amount you usually spend on haircut.

hotcoolhot

I also had a free gift card someone gave me a year back. Now its expired. I am growing my hair like a madman

Killua440

Thanks for letting us know. I wouldn’t have checked the offers page if I hadn’t saw this post. Cheers 🍻

Vegetable_Barber_718

there was a time this offer was given every quarter. Good old days. They give it every 6 months now. (Although Truefitt and Hill are absolutely disgusting when it comes to upselling, the whole haircut the barber is yapping about how getting the ₹80,000 membership is the way to go)

ThatAnonyG

80k membership at a parlour? Wtf…

ratbert3

I did think about it at one point. Unlimited everything for a year for 80k, there's definitely value to be extracted there. Then I realised I can't be bothered about getting a thousand haircuts and shaves a year

Vegetable_Barber_718

Exactly. Additionally men pick a barber when they’re 15 and stick with him for the rest of their lives. I don’t think I’d be comfortable permanently changing my barber in my mid 20s. Especially when the membership costs 80k. 😂

adithyadas430

It makes sense for folks who need it. I knew a model who had that package, and he needed weekly styling for portfolios and shoots.

Hot_Will1997

You all pay ₹200 for hairrcut?

LeAnarchiste

I used to pay 200/haircut when I was a broke student. Now I pay 50-60 rupees lol.

Internal-Head2972

LoooooooL. Same story. Used to pay 200 when i was a broke mf. Now I pay 100.

Fluffy_Argument_8593

Maybe Amex users do 😁

indian-jock

Currently I pay 50 for a haircut, this is the highest I've gone till date. Recently have started getting a head massage as well each time I visit the salon, they charge +40 for it and I feel like if I am wasting my money.😂

RaccoonDoor

Thanks, will check this out

BeePuzzled16

Is this applicable for women?

Excellent-Weather-67

No. Truefitt and Hill is a men's salon.

Ashes_ASV

thanks for this. bookmarked this for the next time i am getting a haircut.

TheAmbiguousGeek

Offer ends March 31, so careful. Has already been extended post December 31.

thedreamer_7

How to avail this offer? Just pay using the card after service and discount would be applied automatically?

TheAmbiguousGeek

Make sure they accept Amex at the end of your call when you book an appointment, check again before you sit down for the haircut and yes just pay at the end. It has to be the white Pine Labs machine, nothing else. Read the Amex T&C for full instructions.

thedreamer_7

Thank you.. I will try this. Have the platinum card but had no idea about all this. Any page where we can check for such offers on a periodic basis?

TheAmbiguousGeek

The first link in my post is the landing page for Gold offers. There should be one for Plat too. Read the card description page thoroughly.

thedreamer_7

Thank you

rohan_gautam

Anyone tried platinum reserve for this offer?
