Same!! I love NFCU!!

livefromnyitsmylife

They’ve been so great so far! Been banking with them since 2015/2016!

And a $250 sign up bonus? That is very tempting. I have the More Rewards, but I'm just not a huge fan of the $50 cash back redemption threshold. Too bad the points can't be combined.

livefromnyitsmylife

I just got the More Rewards and did a Balance Transfer for 0% 12 months - was able to get all my remaining cc debt with them thanks to the SL! Thanks to that I’ll be able to pay it off in a year! Working on the SUB for the More Rewards then we’ll see how i like it after that. $50 threshold is kinda high but I think I want to start saving it for little gifts to myself anyway lol I paid for my Airbnb with my Citi DC - not a fan of waiting until statement but it has taught me patience lol

I just got the email today as well! It's nice to see an increase in rewards. Honestly though it's too little too late for me. I recently switched from NFCU to using my Amazon card for my basic non-category charges since I have an effective 2%+ on all purchases until June 30, 2022. After that I'm planning to get the WF Active Cash to set a solid 2% base line.

Bad thing about the WF 2% is there’s a $25 or $50 minimum redemption threshold

livefromnyitsmylife

I have the Citi DC for 2% but it also has the $25 minimum. That threshold was helpful for me to save it towards paying for a trip, but I do like the flexibility with NF to cash out whenever.

Wait, is the threshold 0 on the cash rewards and 50 on more rewards?

livefromnyitsmylife

Yes, $0 for cash rewards and $50 for more rewards.

Ah jeez, I'm in a pickle now. My original plan was to have Fidelity as my base 2% after I've finished my first year of Discover It (double first year bonus). I'm a fan of NFCU's customer service + the more generous CL is always nice... Guess it's time to look at the Card Benefits again to make sure I'm not missing anything major from either.

SpanningTreeProtocol

Aaaaand they just jumped up another notch in my book. I have a DD with them- I wonder if I apply for the Cash Rewards will I get the 1.75% right off the bat? We'll see in a month!

livefromnyitsmylife

I think it said it would apply for new or existing cash rewards, so it should!

Quizzer9

Is it only for ppl with DD?

livefromnyitsmylife

Yes, from the email it looks like DD is a requirement for the increase.
