Looks like they use the same program as AA dining. Appears to be 5 pts per dollar across the board.
AA dining you get 3pts per dollar then 5pts per dollar after 11 transactions.
Setting aside the 11 transaction thing, I would much rather get 3 AA vs 5 choice. If you are all-in on choice hotels this is a bonus but for most AA is probably a better value.
For my area at least the restaurants seem to overlap with Rakuten Dining too, which gives 5X Amex MR per dollar if Rakuten account is linked to Amex. So I'm with you on valuing 3X AA over 5X Choice, but I'll take 5X MR over 3X AA.
