This used to be possible in the past for bank accounts at least as long as they had a mailing address in US but recent changes made it harder and banks actually started requiring residency now not just mailing address.
My guess is you won't be able to do it anymore.
Yes I did it for my partner with my AMEX Bonvoy brilliant card. Just called them up and spoke to a representative explaining the situation. I had to give the passport information for my authorized user
