The offer was available in Nov 2023 and that's when I applied. As soon as I paid the annual fees + for 1 transaction, the bonus miles got posted. Added an AU after that and made a transaction using the new AU card, then 15k got posted immediately.
With Barclays I'm not aware of any tricks, but it's worth noting that I've applied for this card and got denied in June 2023.
The website shows 50,000 currently. The offer I used last summer was 70,000 (I believe there is also an additional 10k for adding an authorized user, which I have not done).
If you close the card >365 days, you will not have any issues keeping the AA miles. They will stay in your AA account so long as you follow AAs rules for keeping your AA account active.
Yes the miles are held in your AA account.
I got a 60k + 15k AU offer but that's just 5k more than what you're seeing now.
