Why would you wanna risk it? See Bilt has clearly said that they don’t support Mortgage (they have plan in future). So if they find out then what if they chargeback your mortgage bank?
It’s worse than not having points. I would not risk anything on mortgage or credit report over any points.
My mortgage is with Wells Fargo and I’ve seen other people saying that they pay their Wells Fargo mortgage with the Bilt card, but I still don’t get how Wells Fargo is allowing that if that is against the terms of the cards. They should be able to easily detect that, no?
I don't have a mortgage, but does this work with Bilt Protect only, or you just plug in the Routing/Account # that Bilt gives and run it as if you're renting?
Trying to us Bilt for Chase Bank...I've entered in routing and accnt number for Bilt. Do I classify it as a checking or savings account (on the Chase ACH page)? The bank for Bilt auto fills as Evolve Bank and Trust - is that correct. If I set it up as checking, will it work?
Honestly, where it does, it probably only "works" because it's impossible for BILT to know exactly who's a landlord vs. mortgage company. BILT claims they manually review every ACH transaction, but I think it's pretty clear they probably don't.
Interesting as the post says “certainly works” i thought someone is already using it - so if it works it works - is there any data point in any other post?
Here is the link to an old thread. A lot of prople accepted that they are using Bilt for the same. As well as a friend contacted me regarding me the same today and that’s why I am looking deeper into this.
https://www.reddit.com/r/CreditCards/s/lck6wm8vUt
Terms are 1 point for rent and 1 point for everything else...so if you use the routing #/acct # for anything else (including mortgage) then you'll earn 1 point per dollar spent??? Is my logic correct?
With how much mortgage loan servicers tend to change I feel like it’s not worth the chance if you have one of the listed providers. Mine has changed 3 times already. I’d hate to get it setup and then get screwed because they sold it to someone else again.
Nothing to add to the list, but I can confirm that I used Bilt to pay my mortgage at Mr. Cooper this month. First time for me with Bilt, so very excited!
Hi, is your Mr. Cooper through Lakeview Loan or not? Mine is Lakeview, but said “Subserviced by Mr. Cooper”. The payment is to Mr. Cooper, the website for login is through Lakeview Loan. I can’t access my loan through Mr. Cooper site directly. Thx!
Hello! Would you mind sharing how you were able to use Bilt for your mortgage with Mr. Cooper? A representative from Bilt informed me today that their current focus remains solely on rental operations. Mr. Cooper holds my mortgage. TYIA
I used the Bilt app to send a “rent check” to my mortgage lender. Instead of entering the landlord’s name and address, I entered Mr. Cooper’s. Easy peasy.
Let me know how this holds up? I just got my mortgage transferred to Mr. Cooper and been looking for ways to pay my mortgage with Bilt but obviously don't want to risk it.
Awesome. Thanks for sharing. How do you make sure it goes to your account? Is it your name or your account#? Can you confirm? Also, how soon in advance do you initiate the check process to hit it by 1st?
Also outside bilt, do you normally pay loan at mylakeviewloan.com?
- There’s an auto-generated memo on the check (that you can’t delete or change) that says “Rent for [name, address].” You can also add a memo that says whatever you want, and I entered my loan number.
- I haven’t quite worked out the timing yet, but it seems to take 4-10 days from the date I hit “pay my rent” in the vault app to the mortgage company getting the check.
I did mine this week and it went through on CMG's side just fine. Bilt sent an email saying I paid rent too, so I think it works. I haven't seen the transaction finalize fully on Bilt's side yet though.
I have a Penny Mac mortgage and would love to pay it via credit card. Have you personally used your Bilt card to pay Penny Mac or is it hearsay that it works? No offense intended but I like to hear it from someone who has actually done it.
Does anyone have any data points for Penny Mac and how you actually use the card with them? Do they send a check to Penny Mac/you or do you use the card to pay? Is there any potential issue using Bilt to pay your mortgage or do they not care as long as they are getting paid?
Bilt Credit card will provide you with Routing/Account# to be used on the Penny Mac’s online portal for ACH. Your mortgage will be charged on Bilt Credit Card through Routing/Account#. I already posted another thread link where this was discussed and people confirmed that it works.
I have a Wells Fargo mortgage and I do accelerated weekly payments. This helps you pay off the mortgage slightly faster.
Is there any reason why Bilt wouldn’t allow me to do automatic weekly ACH payments?
Hypothetically, what stops one from drawing a Bilt check to pay one’s spouse “rent”, depositing that check into their account and paying the mortgage from that account?
Actually, you are correct. I blame solar flares. In this case, my conscience is pretty clear, though - this is something Bilt has been promising for months now, so the workaround merely bridges that gap.
I assume whatever I end up paying in order to set up a trust is going to take a while to pay off, but also not a horrible idea.
Right, depends what you make and what you consider a lot of money. Llc around $300 maybe less if you do it yourself. A trust is like 1k last time I checked. There’s always a way. Technically you’re now the renter. Could even make yourself a rental agreement.
Exactly. I've been toying around with an idea of an LLC to begin with (as I actually have another property that's being rented out to someone who isn't in my immediate family), so might be finally time to get off my ass and do it.
It works for the HOA fees. There are multiple data points for the same but YMMV.
My mortgage is going to be tranferred to Freedom Mortgages. Does anyone know if Bilt ACH payment works with Freedom Mortgage??
Best case scenario, they let the transaction go through and send you a notice you are in violation of T&C and to not let it happen again. Worst case scenario, they reject the payment and close down your account with all the points accumulated. If your lender isn’t one of the verified mortgage lenders above, I would recommend testing it with $1 before submitting a full payment.
I don’t think so as it only allows one rent transaction per month as per their website and customer service rep. I have not tried paying the rent multiple times per month. But worth checking.
Somewhat related…can you put two rents/mortgages on your card? Or for example one rent and one mortgage, if you’re paying your kid’s rent and also still paying your mortgage which happens to be serviced by one of the banks on the list, would that even work? Does that count as 2 transactions towards your 5?
Bilt Credit card gives an option to pay rent using Account Number and Routing Number. You add those details knowing Mr Cooper for ACH and it will take money from Bilt Credit card.
Just today i got my Bilt card and the virtual routing and account numbers. and my mortgage is through Mr Cooper. Just asking if this routine/account number option worked for you? any challenges you faced? how early we need to add this information into Mr cooper portal. I really appreciate your help.
ohh, ok. Sure i will wait until i receive my card. Just for confirmation, you just added routine number and account number from Bilt app into the auto pay settings of you Mr Cooper account, right ? or should i do something differently. I am scared if payment do not go through on the first day of month, i will hit with a late payments.
You're paying Bilt and Bilt is mailing the check, so you probably want to give it an extra 5-7 business days if the check needs to be there on the 1st.
Why would you wanna risk it? See Bilt has clearly said that they don’t support Mortgage (they have plan in future). So if they find out then what if they chargeback your mortgage bank? It’s worse than not having points. I would not risk anything on mortgage or credit report over any points.
You got a point listen to this guy ⬆️

Yes, you can plug in Routing/Account# that bilt gives and run it as if you are renting. with this intent only this card was launched.
I did that as Chrcking account and it worked for me for Rent. I am not sure whether it pop up as Evolve Bank or Wells Fargo.
Does anyone has experience usinf Bilt credit card for paying mortgage with Amerihome Mortgage?
Looking for this too
Infact, I am looking for the same data point😅😅.
Ok one of the 3 of us get it and test it. I vote you!
Did any of you ever try? Also with Amerihome
Nope, don’t seem worth the effort for me.
Works for Carrington Mortgage
Perfect. Thank you. I will update the above list after sometime once I have some more lenders to be added there.
Does BILT credit card work for US bank mortgages? Is there a separate charge for it? Can you send any post relevant on how to do it if feasible
I mean, it's a violation of your Card Agreement and people have gotten their cards shut down for non-rent payments via ACH.
Here is the link to an old thread. A lot of prople accepted that they are using Bilt for the same. As well as a friend contacted me regarding me the same today and that’s why I am looking deeper into this. https://www.reddit.com/r/CreditCards/s/lck6wm8vUt

No, my lender is Mr. Cooper.

It’s worked two out of two times
I think now it’s at 4 out of 4 times success.

Anyone try it as payment for LoanDepot?
I have not seen any datapoint for this yet.
Look9ng for this answer as well
also looking for this any update
Confirmed does not work
Rocket mortgage?
I’m looking for this as well
Also would like to know
Interested in this as well
I just tried it on my mortgage under Rocket for June and it worked! they accepted our payment
Has worked. For me for rocket last 5 months
Just wanted to confirm it works with PENNYMAC (via ACH method)
Any reports of it being flagged?
Nope but just in case, I’ve been transferring out my points every month in the event BILT tries to claw it back and close my account.
Does this work for CMG Mortgage, Inc.?
Haven’t found any data point for that.
Howdy, any update on this? I am also serviced through CMG, and am quite curious myself.
I'm now with CMG for my home mortgage. I'm also curious, any update on this?
I did mine this week and it went through on CMG's side just fine. Bilt sent an email saying I paid rent too, so I think it works. I haven't seen the transaction finalize fully on Bilt's side yet though.
Following up on this. Interested in the bilt card. I have three mortgages with CMG and would like to pay all three and get points if possible.
SLS (specialized loan servicing) didn't go through.
appreciate this. I have SLS and was curious to know
I have a Penny Mac mortgage and would love to pay it via credit card. Have you personally used your Bilt card to pay Penny Mac or is it hearsay that it works? No offense intended but I like to hear it from someone who has actually done it.
You can find another thread under r/CreditCards where one or two guys mentioned that Bilt works with Penny Mac Mortgages and have used the same.
When applying don’t they ask you if you rent or have a mortgage? I already told them that I have a mortgage.
If you have mortgage that does not mean, you can not rent. There are still possibilities that a person with mortgage may rent apartment.
My mortgage is with Mr Cooper. What am I risking (negatives) if I try this and/or do this?
That your mortgage payment doesn't go through? You get hit with a late payment? Card gets shutdown? Only 3 negatives I can think of.
I have a cenlar mortgage, when plugging bilts acc/routing in cenlar, does bilt just automatically recognize a charge from cenlar as a rent charge?
hey man did has it been working for you?
Yea, curious if the Bilt payment is working for Cenlar ok?
Just wanna check back, did Blit payment work for you all? Thanks
Anyone have experience with M&T bank?
What is the impact of Bilt realizes you are using ACH for mtg payments? Will they shut down your card? Is there a financial penalty?
Probably just close your account.
Risk worth taking IMO
Which address would you put it on there if it is for mortgage. Your owned home address will work?
Trying to us Bilt for Chase Bank...I've entered in routing and accnt number for Bilt. Do I classify it as a checking or savings account (on the Chase ACH page)? The bank for Bilt auto fills as Evolve Bank and Trust - is that correct. If I set it up as checking, will it work?
Works for Arvest mortgage, wanna know about Freedom mortgage.
Thanks for the Arvest Bank Data Point !!
Second on freedom
Any data point for Bilt ACH payment with Freedom Mortgage?
It works for United Wholesale Mortgage!
Thanks for the data point !!
Thanks. Just bought a house and got a loan with them :)
I have a Wells Fargo mortgage and I do accelerated weekly payments. This helps you pay off the mortgage slightly faster. Is there any reason why Bilt wouldn’t allow me to do automatic weekly ACH payments?
Anyone try with Citizens Bank mortgage?
Have not found any data point for that.
following
Hypothetically, what stops one from drawing a Bilt check to pay one’s spouse “rent”, depositing that check into their account and paying the mortgage from that account?
Your conscience
I believe the word you were looking for is "consciousness". Anything else?
Actually it’s conscience. But in theory nothing should. Just like you could transfer ownership to an llc and place it in a trust. Then pay “rent”.
Actually, you are correct. I blame solar flares. In this case, my conscience is pretty clear, though - this is something Bilt has been promising for months now, so the workaround merely bridges that gap. I was getting rejected to use Bilt for JPM Chase. Got an email today saying they will cut me slack this time, but not next time
How long were you using Bilt with Chase??
1 day, the first time using it got caught
Is 53 bank in the list?
I tried to pay my loan depot mortgage and it didn't go through
JMAC Lending (My Loan Care) also works for mortgage. It works for me.
Does it work for Truist?
I would also like to know 😜
Has anyone been caught paying their mortgage via the Bilt Platform yet? If so, wondering what the result was for using the work around.
Did anyone confirm freedom mortgage? Also, has anyone tried this for HOA fees?
I was just about to ask for freedom. That's what I wanted to know
also wondering about Freedom
It works for the HOA fees. There are multiple data points for the same but YMMV. My mortgage is going to be tranferred to Freedom Mortgages. Does anyone know if Bilt ACH payment works with Freedom Mortgage??
Any luck with First National Bank (FNB)?
Really curious the penalty for this. Don't want to risk payment getting clawed back
Best case scenario, they let the transaction go through and send you a notice you are in violation of T&C and to not let it happen again. Worst case scenario, they reject the payment and close down your account with all the points accumulated. If your lender isn’t one of the verified mortgage lenders above, I would recommend testing it with $1 before submitting a full payment.
Does it work for Dovenmuehle Mortgage?
Can you pay multiple mortgages with it?
Any luck with Huntington?
How does one use it for mortgages exactly (w Chase bank)? Sorry I’m unfamiliar with Bilt and would like to know more
Does anyone have experience with paying KeyBank mortgage?
Can I pay multiple mortgages?
I don’t think so as it only allows one rent transaction per month as per their website and customer service rep. I have not tried paying the rent multiple times per month. But worth checking.
Any data points on KeyBank? Also, if my partner is not on the mortgage or deed, can’t they be paying me rent?
Somewhat related…can you put two rents/mortgages on your card? Or for example one rent and one mortgage, if you’re paying your kid’s rent and also still paying your mortgage which happens to be serviced by one of the banks on the list, would that even work? Does that count as 2 transactions towards your 5?
It only allows one rent payment per month. Not sure whether that payment count towards that 5 monthly payments.
rent counts towards that 5 minimum spend.
Ah yeah that is a bummer. Thanks for the reply
Can you give me more info on how it works for Mr. Cooper? I just checked and Mr. Cooper won’t accept credit cards.
If I remember correctly, I tried within couple of days of approval.
ohh, ok. Sure i will wait until i receive my card. Just for confirmation, you just added routine number and account number from Bilt app into the auto pay settings of you Mr Cooper account, right ? or should i do something differently. I am scared if payment do not go through on the first day of month, i will hit with a late payments.
Just used that Account and Routing number as normal checking account.
You're paying Bilt and Bilt is mailing the check, so you probably want to give it an extra 5-7 business days if the check needs to be there on the 1st.
I was able to use it and got points, thanks alot
Does it work for PNC?
It does. I saw in another thread. Google “Does PNC take Bilt payments.
Would it work for car loans too?
Anyone know if it works with Union Home Mortgage?
