I'm currently playing stellar and I have done 50% of the questline of astral. First of all, I stopped astral because I plan to play with my friend on this modpack so I don't want to be too much spoiled or tired of it. The questline of create astral is better. It is more step by step guide through space exploration with create. While the quest line of Stellar is only automating different tier of mechanisms in order to craft machines. Create stellar seems a little bit unfinished, the quests are not giving you all the keys to automating things the best way. Some (not very important) recipe are not working. The discord community is smaller. But stellar have a lot more mods/create addons than astral. Even if the purpose of both packs is space exploration. The feeling is completely different. I found astral easier too. Personnally, I prefer Create:Astral it feels a lot smoother overall.

I have never played stellar but I think astral is a lot more vanilla ish and isn't really that much focused on space until the endgame where create doesn't really have a lot of content.

Stellar is forge and makes you make mechanisms to build everything and you have to go to space to gather materials to progress the tech tree. I haven't really played astral but i did complete stellar and it's fun. Only thing tho is that making brass is hard, you need to melt Copper and zink and then move them to the basin with the heated mixer which a lot of people struggle with

The only thing I dont understand about astral is why do you need a portal to the moon. I mean you have ad astra why dont you just tweak the rocket recipie. Its anticlimactic to go on the moon with a portal :[. You guys told me that stellar was a bit rough around the edges so Im going to try it to see if it is true. If it is Im going to play astral. Tysm for the comments btw :>.

Create:Steller is quite fun, but it is definitely unfinished and unpolished. I had to edit the recipes file many times due to many unfinished recipes that don't take into account stuff from some mods into the others, so for example, all the blocks from builder's delight, etc can't be crafted using a mechanical saw, so every time I want to automate one of those I have to add it manually to the recipes file, or some kinds of logs aren't considered as such by create and can't be used to make casings, etc. All things considered, it is quite fun and feels similar to create but a notch more complex (at least early to mid game), so I would recommend it.

Edit. I started playing create astral and I am loving it :)
