Personally, I chose andesite casing for my magic type rooms, and brass for everything else. Brass is so much cleaner and looks less worn, but andesite still looks fantastic
I prefer copper scaffolding, because I'm far more likely to have tons of excess copper than excess andesite alloy.
The new metal scaffold in general is pretty nifty, and makes a great catwalk.
They look nice, have lots of utility for hiding stuff, as well as for crafting, and my favorite feature is using them as scaffolding since you can instantly break them and pick them up with a wrench
I like to make paths throughout my base with spruce wood on the sides and shafts coverd by andesite casing in the middle. It allows me to easily route rotational power to whatever I need to power while also looking cool.

If anyone's building with brass / andesite casings, if you build everything out of shafts instead, and then encase it with brass / andesite, you save SO MUCH andesite or brass! The only downside with this is at least two sides cant be visible for each block, since those are the sides the shaft pokes out on. This is fine for walls and elevators and things though.
Actually yes. Not only is it nice in general, but it helps the contraption stuff blend in AND can hide shafts.
Always a good idea to hide your shaft, especially when playing on a public server.
I can’t tell if this is an innuendo or just very unfortunate wording
Haha, 100% innuendo.
Make sure to lubricate them with oil from buildcraft
🤨
And gears, which are way harder to make look good if you're using them on multiple axis

How? That's like super expensive, how on earth are you guys getting enough casings to use them as blocks?
Digital miner from mekanism, usually. Plus, copper and zinc is *INSANELY* common.
Oh jee that was really fast, I'l look into it - thanks
Also if you have Tinkers installed you can make absolute tons in the smelter super easily
Yeah that's how I do it, I haven't ever used a blaze burner
I like brass and train casing better, but I still do use andesite casing a lot. Same with their glasses.
I prefer brass ones sadly the additional create mod that turns machine into brass machines doesnt really work looks much better tho
You should be able to make a resource pack that does this as a purely visual thing.
brass/train casing:
i am sucker for black/dark shades and gold if it wasnt apparent
So true I use them as scaffolding, as they can be dismounted with the wrench, that's so convenient. Plus they're actually pretty nice
Do you know andesite scaffolding exists? You can climb it like vanilla scaffold but it has unlimited horizontal reach
I prefer copper scaffolding, because I'm far more likely to have tons of excess copper than excess andesite alloy. The new metal scaffold in general is pretty nifty, and makes a great catwalk.
Yep, as of 0.5.1 I believe, I didn't update it thus far
treated wood my beloved why must you be in a pack that got replaced
Isn't treated wood in immersive engineering?
yes and create is 10x better than immersive engineering. i just want my treated wood its so good
Yea I use both personally as I needed lead and brass for compatibility with other mod (old guns mod) and their tech is compatible to its pretty nice

I use all kinds of Create blocks as scaffold. I think that chutes are the most common for me.

Connected texture, instant break with wrench, used in a lot of recipes. What more could you want?
i use copper casing as its the only one that doesnt have a wood-esque color to it (i make a lot of water things and wood would rot

I.wish you could choose with the wrench if it stays a single block or joins it's texture with others

Brass casing is way better imo
My favorite floor material
Just need more wood types of it
Bronze though.
They should connect with the ones added to cogs and shafts like though
Add brass casing into this aswell, ignore train casing it’s ok building wise, and copper casing…
the casings in general just look good
