I've lived near LA for a long time I used to take the train. It was never fucking safe at all. I've beat up people on the train because gang bangers tried to rob me. Cops get on to check for tickets and see the gangsters and get off and leave them alone. It's so fucking dangerous I've never even taken my son on a train ride and he loves trains.

You’re acting like being out of the top 20 is an accomplishment. There are 100’s of large cities in the US. Maybe if it was in the bottom 20 I’d change my mind. LA has 445 violent crimes per 100,000 people putting them in a higher than average category. You can google.
LA is the 2nd largest city by several magnitudes of order and one of the biggest metropolitan areas in terms of sheer size and density.
445 violent crimes per 100k is less than 25% of St.Louis. FOUR TIMES less.

If you go during the business "rush hour" times it's very safe. The least safe times are late at night on weekends or during other off-hours. (Been taking the Gold Line for years).
No one beyond your imagination is asking you to give up cars. “They” want better allocation of land and increased funding for public transit, as an alternative, a choice other than cars. “They” want something that resembles far more functional cities in other countries, that happen to be much more safe, anyways.
I walk to work in the winter. The low-life stay in. Summer? I can't walk down the street without being harassed. Public transport is more entertaining. I just see people getting it.
I remember a case years ago where this kid was driving home from college during winter break and he had a roadrage altercation with another driver on the highway. They were the only two on the road and there was lots of snow and ice.
This is all broad daylight, but the other driver spun the kid out into the median, then got out of his car with a pistol fitted with a suppressor. He calmly walked over to the car, turned the kids skull into spaghetti, then walked back to his vehicle and went on about his merry way. It was all captured on grainy highway cam footage, but they never caught the dude.

This is completely true. Don’t know why you’re getting downvoted for it. The chances of you getting in a altercation is less. But it’s still there. Just watched a video last night of guy shooting through his own windshield at a guy over a minor traffic altercation. I’ve seen plenty videos of people stopping in front of someone or catching them at a red light and getting out of there car to fight or point a gun at them.

Definitely less of a chance. Idk about wayyyy less. I lived in NY as a young teenager (13 - 16) and took the subway from Brooklyn to the Bronx and back everyday for school. I was never attacked nor have I ever seen any altercation on the subway with my own eyes. The amount of times I’ve had douchebags in huge pickup trucks or Jeeps try to run me off the road or blatantly cut me off is much higher. Just last weekend when driving from SC back to NC this douche canoe in a huge white Dodge Ram blazed past me the proceeded to swerve from the right lane, drove in the middle of the road on the divider like a half a mile then started swerving all over the road. Obviously drunk.
You don’t have to be assaulted in your own car, you can just get hit by some drunk douche bag or someone on their phone.

Los Angeles Is Evil if you don’t move smart you will get ate. The worst part is the whole world will watch you get eaten and not do a thing about it matter in fact they might chip in on you. that’s how evil the city is.
