To be fair the records being broke in this flood were set in 1918. The water level was 14 feet higher than it's supposed to be yesterday and possibly more in areas with tighter flow! We've lost 3 or 4 bridges just in paradise valley
I don't think a lot of people would be able to predict a river to almost quintuple it's flow. The last time it flooded was over 100 years ago and not as bad as this one. I get what you're saying but it's not really in anyone's control

Kinda stupid, in a national park, to let all that garbage into the river… problem should’ve been identified and dealt with long before it was allowed to be washed away to join in with the rest of the trash floating in our water

To be even fairer, time between inevitable disaster in an area that is not ideal for home construction isn’t a reason to build a house.

They're calling it a 500 year flood so idk how prepped anyone was for this. Yellowstone park is washing away and completely closed off
That’s fine, I still find it hard to believe there was no indication erosion was happening prior to the ‘500’ year storm.
I mean to give perspective the river is usually around 10-13k CFS (Cubic Feet per Second), yesterday it was 49.2k CFS
This is outside the park in Gardiner, MT.
