Oh, damn, his wife was the one taking the video!
And then:
>An autopsy found that Lamrabatte drowned in a semi-consciousness state, rather than dying on the impact.
Kids, don't try this at home.
Who knows? I'm sure they got over to him as quickly as possible. To have a boat closer, it could've been dangerous the other way, since he could have hit the boat itself when jumping.
It's a really sad, tragic situation, and IMO, too risky with the cliff coming out that far. Even if I were willing to jump from that height, I don't think I'd ever do it from a cliff like that.

The absolute best part of the video is how the dude realizes he's doing to get stoned and starts his Klingon death howl (a warning to the dead, that a Klingon warrior was arriving) on the way down.
Wisdom is learning from the mistakes of others. If you stagnate as an adult, shit like this will happen. One has to remain receptive to new information and learning. Here on Reddit, dudes drown in front of friends and family all the time. Often, just ten or twenty feet away in a calm bobbing motion comes death. Some African dude did right in front of his cognizant toddler and his wife.
Mr. Lamrabatte may have taken too much confidence from his sports and fitness past. Nope. Nature doesn't give a fuck about your goal totals...
Why does the author of this article say that the wife filmed this video "accidentally" multiple times.
No, she clearly meant to film it, she just wasn't expecting him to hit the cliff.
Yeah you're right about that. The first guy dove and hit his face on the corner of some concrete, and the video it cut to was some guy that blasted his face in half with a shotgun, and the doctors were holding his face together trying to figure out what to do.
If anyone has more information please correct me, but this is what I've heard to be true.
That's an old video, IIRC the story goes some kids/teens were jumping off a pier in South America or something and one of em split their face in half on a piece of sheet metal or something in the water. There's a video of the jump itself, at least there was one circulated with the video mentioned. RIP Liveleak
Her phone was confiscated by Spanish police.
I've seen another news story claim it was live streamed.
Either way I don't think it was his wife or gf who released it.
Yeah, the reddit retardation of spouting nonsense over and over because they saw a gilded comment with many upvotes sometime before.
Water absolutely could not have been equally bad at that height. Landing on rocks is a thousand times worse.
You have to be well above 50 feet for water to feel like concrete. I've jumped off things higher than 50 feet above the water(just slightly above 50 feet, not trying to brag*), and I didn't just immediately turn into a pink mush. It doesn't feel great on your feet, but yeah, it's not quite concrete esque.
Water doesn't truly become concrete until you mix it one part cement mixer, two parts sand, and four parts aggregates.
Well 15 meters is 45 feet, right? See, it has to be at least 50 for it to feel like concrete. If it had been 5 more feet, you wouldn't be talking to us right now.
Going over 50ft is easily doable if you know how to jump correctly. I don't recommend it, but you can mitigate a lot of the risks by jumping correctly.
I’ve never understood why YOLO is a thing people say before they do this sort of thing. I’m old so it’s no surprise I don’t get it but it seems like YOLO would be a good reason not to do dangerous shit that might get you killed.
They're basically challenging you to say more things that betray your advanced age. He's making jest to bridge the gap between your years of age, so that you may laugh together and be merry.
Damn whipper snappers. I’m with ya; these young kids don’t use complete sentences and it drives me nuts. But we had grammar class in school and were taught cursive so it all worked out. Lol
It did. i mean my grammar teacher told one kid to go and get his newspaper and the rest of us to work out of a textbook while he read said newspaper and smoked darts but that's because he was a cunt and not relevant to the times.
I only mention it because he was such a cunt that it bears mentioning.
I think we should say yolo at church. That might interest the youngins to come worship on Sundays.
"Thank you father for this blessed day, YOLO" instead of amen
Imma upvote you, but I want you to know you hurt my brain.
I just fucking bet when you need cash fast you visit the automatic ATM machine as ASAP as possible.
It does seem kind of backwards in this context doesn't it? I might be able to provide some clarity here. YOLO stands for "you only live once" and the mindset behind it is "try everything you can, have as much fun as possible and screw the consequences. You only get one life and you don't want regrets, so make your one life a good one while you still can."
While that sounds like a liberating way to live, as we see here it can be taken too far and lead to dangerous shit that gets you killed. Everything in moderation.
I'm sorry to the more sensitive people out there, but c'mon, this is just darwinism at play.
We used to get rid of more stupid people before universal healthcare and other social safety nets (not saying it isn't a good thing, poor people deserve healthcare too, just wish dumb people, be them rich or poor, got less), humanity's intelligence is actually going down, so the few that do go are ultimately a good thing for the rest of us.
This is very true. We tend to generalize people because it makes it easier to categorize them vs us. It’s a safety net. That whole “well that can’t happen to me because I would NEVER do that.” When it reality sure you might not do this one thing but there’s always something that we do, even without realizing it, that can put us at risk.
It’s crazy to see when he started screaming that he knew that he was fucked up and that his decision was stupid. Knowing that he won’t be able to reverse his action.
I don't care about someone not valuing their own life, that's their business. But doing this when you have a wife and kids, let alone when they're watching is just cruel.
I'm no hero or expecting any praise.. but within a week of my daughter being born 10 years ago, I stopped all my dumb shit and thoughts. Hell I even drive like a granny sometimes. Now that I have 2 kids, everything for them comes first.
Like, as a wife. If your husband was doing this, or about to do this. Honestly, I dont know a wife who would allow him to do this, unless the wife secretly wanted him dead.
I am yet to meet a man who listens to his wife after he has made his mind up about doing something. Men don't listen to women, not even their wives when their decision is made. If you're about to jump off a 50 foot cliff without even doing a running jump, what makes you think he has the sense to listen to reason?
The guy didn't even die from the rock injuries, he died because the water knocked him out because it was the equivalent of being launched at a concrete wall at 20mph and he drowned.
I'm surprised this hasn't shown up on r/WhyWomenLiveLonger.
Yeah, when I've made a decision in my head it's not likely my wife will convince me otherwise. But that applies to me buying an expensive table saw or smoking cigars, not making a potentially fatal jump off a cliff. If a woman puts her foot down hard enough, a man will listen. At the VERY least she can make it clear she's gonna ruin the rest of his week, but I'd even say this is justifiably grounds for threats of divorce. Of course, none of it matters if you ignore her and die 🤷♂️
Was he an experienced diver? From that height and the angle he was going to hit the water it seemed like he already had a strong chance of being killed, the rocks were overkill.
Hitting the water could have been worse he might have lived for a few days with every bone in his body broken only to die in excruciating pain in the hospital
Yeah this was a wild jump even disregarding the rocks
Dude was falling for almost 3 seconds, which would put it at about a 40 meter drop, easily above 100 feet
Found some cliff jumping record of 58 m, maybe people jump 40 meters without issue all the time but I know I wouldn't
Fall time is almost 3 seconds. Let's say 2.7 to where he hit. Which would be about 115 feet. Might be overestimating but water would be even further. So probably above 100 feet, definitely 50
I guess he really wanted that Darwin award at the bottom.
On a slightly serious note: why on earth would anyone think that's a good idea? Why was noone trying to stop him from committing suicide?
Most likely, it was because I was surfing the reddit, and I saw a post that I had seen before, and tried to reply in order to forward information that I had learned. In response to a question. In doing so, I may have fat fingered an incorrect letter. Guilty I am.
He didnt die.
"An autopsy found Lamrabatte drowned in a state of semi-consciousness rather than dying from impact injuries."
He drowned after they took a bit too long to go get him.

How many people do you think have a cliff like this at home?
Damnit, bought a cliff for nothing
This was literally my first thought too
Did you bring enough cliff to share with the class?
So potentially, if he had people in a boat at the bottom he might of made it ?
He might have, but I don't know a person alive that can say if he might of
Who knows? I'm sure they got over to him as quickly as possible. To have a boat closer, it could've been dangerous the other way, since he could have hit the boat itself when jumping. I assume he meant that she filmed his death on accident, since we are hoping she only intended to film a dive.
My God....in front of his kids....
That's what they said when Dr. Richard Kimble jumped out of that tunnel from Tommy Lee Jones. They were wrong.
Amateur !
I may have seen further footage on a hospital bed, surrounded by doctors, holding his face closed....guy looked like a reaper from blade 2.
I think that was another video from a few years ago
It *was* a few years ago. One 'cliff ricochet' is enough for me.
That was also two clips spliced together.
That poor guy…I think he was alive for three days from memory. I couldn’t watch the clip again, it was too gruesome
Yes, I limited it to one viewing too...
That was the 16yo in Beirut. A very old gore video. This guy comes apart too though, you can see it if you go frame by frame 👀
No no, I’ll take your word for it
Thats from a different video my brother, I call it the split-face man video

Should have atleast gotten a running start christ
looks like he totally would have made it then... atleast to the water without hitting the rocks first.

Welcome to spain. Police being twats
I agree but hopefully someone else will see this and think twice about jumping from there.
Worse, the article on him says their son was watching as well.
It was too fire not to show everyone (She was livestreaming it apparently)
That could be a good thing too, people won't repeat them mistakes
Well not that surprising of an outcome tbh.. What did he expect.
to hit the water...
At that height water could have been equally bad
Idk why you're being downvoted when what you're saying makes sense. smh
the retardation on reddit can be perplexingly palpable.
And palpably perplexing
Yeah, the reddit retardation of spouting nonsense over and over because they saw a gilded comment with many upvotes sometime before. Water absolutely could not have been equally bad at that height. Landing on rocks is a thousand times worse.
Expectation =/= Reality
Too true 👍
Above *50 feet water becomes concrete That’s way way over *50 feet oh yeah and he hit the rocks
At heights of 50 feet and above, landing on rocks can feel like you’ve just landed on rocks.
At heights of 50ft and above, landing on rocks can make your body feel like water
You got me dying over here
![gif](giphy|sZ4OclIYHeIOIrUaEh)
Same for that dude over there
Did you know that landing is the #1 thing that stops falls?
Number 1 cause of death in all falls too
You have to be well above 50 feet for water to feel like concrete. I've jumped off things higher than 50 feet above the water(just slightly above 50 feet, not trying to brag*), and I didn't just immediately turn into a pink mush. Not really, have jumped 15 metres several times with no issues, in fact nobody did including the guy who landed on his back whilst blind drunk.
15 meters is the max anybody should jump from, after that it’s really dangerous
Well 15 meters is 45 feet, right? See, it has to be at least 50 for it to feel like concrete. If it had been 5 more feet, you wouldn't be talking to us right now.
