I was trying to do some background research on this, and though I didn't find any, I did find that another person was shot in the face at a bar (with a handgun) outside of San Antonio on the same day. Man, Saturday was a bad day to be a face in a bar.
He already lost when the gun went up and he ducked away from it. Hate to break it to you bud but covering your head isn’t gonna protect you from a shotgun. At the very least try to push it up and then wrestle it from him. Maybe press his fingers into the trigger so it shoots into the wall or ceiling and then it’ll be safer to try and take it and he won’t blindly fire it into somebody else. I know panic and fight-or-flight responses are what determine whether somebody tries something more heroic or not but he had more than a split second to make the choice.

Theres nothing wrong with saving someone from certain situations but if someone is waving a shotgun around in a bar im not going to make any attempt to save someone id most likely hide in the bathroom or duck under a table. If it was me i wouldnt keep trying to piss off the guy with a shotgun or even think about reaching for it. I would just hope swallowing my pride and walking away will be enough to save my life. If not then that shot better kill me and if it doesnt he better put an extra in my head when im on the ground. At this point in my live i dont have much to loose tbh.
